Delivery is every week and so seamless, there is even an app to track the status of the delivery. The soups and stews were all so flavorful - I didn't have to season them at all! I was lucky enough to receive my very first Kitchen Doula surprise delivery as a baby shower gift right before heading off for maternity leave...what a gem this local small business is! I was so impressed with the delivery service, and my kit arrived in a nice insulated reusable Kitchen Doula bag. The hearty soups and stews came in so clutch for me during those early newborn days and long nights at 3am, when feeding time for baby came around and I was starvvvvinggg (and cold scurrying down to my kitchen in the odd hours of the night). In anticipation for baby's arrival, I ordered a "trial" from the Kitchen Doula - the Healing and Recovery package of soups and stews - because I wanted to be sure I would enjoy and feel nourished as having this type of food immediately postpartum. I have nothing but good things to say about it all. The process of ordering (super easy!), delivery (on time and communicative), and the amazing food, talk about DELICIOUS. So far I've enjoyed the chili (stew), chicken vegetable soup, chicken ginger soup, cock-a-leekie (stew), both kinds of lactation cookies, and the tumeric ginger tonic. All of the food has been delicious, the stews are hearty, the soups are lighter but still feel very nourishing. I can't say enough good things about Kitchen Doula and founder Tali Biale. My introduction to them was when a friend sent me an order from the while I was undergoing chemo. A friend recently lost her mom, and I wanted to nourish her in the way my friend had nourished me. Because I wanted it NOW and they, as a small business, understandably deliver in certain areas in certain days. So first I called to see if I could get what I needed and got voicemail and didn't leave a message. I chose instead to send an email, thinking to myself that I wouldn't hear anytime soon, certainly not the day I sent it. Within basically minutes Tali emailed me back. We went back/forth a few times and she helped me understand how to customize a 'package' as well as work with me to see what delivery day they could commit to.
