Wonderful food, great variation in menu every week, easy ordering, and smooth delivery!

Tried prepared meal delivery for the first time last week and absolutely love the food. Tastes homemade and fresh! I am going to stop my other delivery service bc this is so much better and also better than my own cooking! Looking forward to having dinner taken care of for busy week nights. Amazing! I recently needed to arrange catering for a last minute reception for about 150 people, following a memorial service. Amy was incredibly easy to work with - she had done this before, and provided insightful and much needed advice on what and how much to serve. She worked easily within our required parameters (likes/dislikes, location, uncertainty as to the number of guests, etc.). Everything was delicious and fresh, and beautifully presented. And the service was impeccable - Amy and her staff made sure nothing ran out or looked picked over, and even handled some special dietary requests on the fly. On top of that, her prices were very reasonable compared to the other companies that I had researched - absolutely an excellent value for the quality of the food and service we received. I won't go into detail on our menu, as everyone's needs are different, but I highly recommend her salads (unique without being too "out there"), mini crab cakes, and lemon bars! Makes me wish I lived in her delivery area for dinner meal service. :-). I will definitely call on Amy again for my future catering needs. read more

We are so lucky to have found Amy's Moveable Feast in Alameda. I have been ordering weekly meals for my elderly Mother for over 7 months. She LOVES the meals; excellent quality, changing weekly menu, creative "Item of the Week", and fantastic desserts! The meals are delivered like clockwork every Tuesday just in time for her dinner. We found Amy during a trying time for our family. We needed help with healthy dinners for our family that had, at the time, strict dietary needs and picky palates. We hired her for personal chef services for one month. Amy was kind, supportive, and understanding from my first conversation with her. Amy was referred to us by a friend and it was the best referral I recieved all year. I can't say enough wonderful things about Amy. She comes to our home and cooks 3-4 meals a week for our family. She is creative but listens to your needs and wants. We have a 6 person family with 3 Vegetarians, so we are not easy to please. Amy worked with us to create a menu we loved. We have enjoyed Amy's cooking for a few years now and tonight she delivered one of her best - blackened tilapia with citrus slaw. Not spicy and not bland, the fish was perfectly seasoned and moist, even though reheated in the microwave. The citrus slaw was crisp and bright and a perfect accompaniment to the fish. We highly recommend both and hope she will offer them again soon. Amy has recently made some positive changes to her meal-delivery service, i.e., she is now offering three options (I think one is always either vegetarian or fish whereas the other two are meat-based), offering two sizes, and offering side dishes in addition to the one that always comes with the main dish. (For those who don't know her, she also makes desserts and children's meals.) In the past there were times when we felt the amount of food was not quite enough so we were happy tonight that we had experimented by ordering one "regular" and one "large:" it was the perfect amount for us when we divided both dishes between us. This review is long over-due. I used Amy's Moveable Feast for both my boys graduation party's. Amy and her crew served about 75 people. Amy was very easy to work with and each time she came thru 100% on everything we discussed. Her menu options are amazing. She and her staff arrived on time as promised. They took care of every single detail as far as our buffet went. The staff was friendly and courteous. The best of all is she used my kitchen and everything was spotless when they left. She even bags up the leftovers and put it in our fridge. I highly recommend Amy's Moveable Feast and would definitely used them again for any of my catering needs. read more

We found Amy on yelp and contacted her a few months before the big 60th birthday party in our home for 13 folks. She worked with us to concretize the basic menu and sent a written estimate. The week before we spoke by phone about exactly what was in season. Also, the birthday girl is vegetarian and she created a similar dish to the fish with tofu, delicious. Everything arrived as scheduled delivered by Amy the afternoon of the birthday with printed directions for heating etc. The food was great, wonderfully fresh and great seasoning, really delicious. I had the pleasure of working with Amy last week. I hired Amy to cater a small business dinner at my house. It was easy to work with Amy, she offered great suggestions. She followed up when she said she would and arrived promptly the night of the dinner. The dinner was fabulous- mixed green salad with asian pears and white pomegranate seeds. We had 5 spice salamon with flank steak marinated in a korean soy sauce and stir fry vegetables. For dessert we had lemon bars and amazing salted carmel tarts! Amy used all fresh local ingredients. The food really was wonderful, beautifully presented. When she left my kitchen was spotless! Can't beat it. read more

Once again, Amy delighted us with her wonderful food, service, and great attitude, for our annual Family Christmas Dinner. Amy gave us yummy offerings from which to chose, when planning our feast. She arrived at our home at the appointed time, set-up the appetizers, and buffet table, and went straight to work putting the finishing touches on our dinner. Amy not only made a great dinner and dessert, but she also kept an eye on any needs that our guests required. Then, after dinner, as we enjoyed our dessert, she cleaned the kitchen, packed up her serving items, and as we finished dessert, she collected our remaining dishes, cleaned those, and was ready to leave. We had a small-ish event to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and had Amy cater an Asian-themed spread. We found Amy to be very accommodating and easy to work with. She provided us with many meat and non-meat options, as well as some suggestions. She came with the food all set and beautifully presented, and helped set up our table. The food was absolutely delicious, as evidenced by the guests going back for thirds and sometimes even fourths!
