Crème brûlée with strawberry
Johnny M.

One of my first beverage spots during my trip to Toronto. The servers here are quite nice. The shop is kept very clean. I had the crème brûlée with strawberry, zero sugar. I loved it! It was still sweet enough for me to enjoy. I'll be coming back!

Matcha softserve with tapioca and sugar cone

If you're looking for some ice cream during the upcoming summer days, you can add Gong Cha to your list! In addition to their long line up of beverages, their new addition includes soft-serve of varying flavors. I'm so thankful to Gong Cha and their team for the invite to their sneak peak tasting to try this MATCHA SOFT-SERVE. Loved that it was smooth and creamy (i.e. not overly ice-y) without being too heavy. There was also enough matcha to make it flavorful, balancing out the sweetness but I wouldn't mind cutting out a little more sugar. Topped with a sugar cone that was incredibly crunchy, a chocolate Pocky (a childhood favorite!), as well as QQ and chewy tapioca (delish!), this is the ultimate summer heat treat. *Available starting May 22nd, at select locations*

Great bubble tea place with quality drinks. The place is nice decorated with plenty of seating. It's got great ambience and their music isn't too loud. Their servers are quick with what they do. They're not particularly nice but they're not rude either--very efficient. Their drinks are all pretty great. Like most bubble tea places, you can customize your sugar and ice levels. Their prices are in line with the majority of your typical chains, such as Chatime and CoCo. This is my preferred chain store for the quickness, seating, ambience, and tea strength. I'll be coming back again!

Staff were extremely friendly and soft serve was very good!! During the summer they have the coffee soft serve available and it is such a bold, aromatic coffee flavour that you have to try! It also comes with a hockey stick which we found to be a nice addition to the overall treat. We highly recommend this spot! I like this place. It has a classy, elegant feel to the decor that is warm and inviting. The space isn't cramped like many other establishments in the neighbourhood. The night i went to Gong Cha, there was no air conditioning, so they kept the door open. Thankfully the evening was cool, allowing for a pleasant time relaxing with my friends. The menu has pretty decent selections of drinks, ranging from milk foam flavor teas and coffee to smoothie. I ordered a regular sized passion fruit green tea, with QQ jelly for $4.7. At 30% sugar the tea was still fairly sweet. The associates were pretty fast with completing orders. They were polite, but i couldn't help but feel that they were a bit stressed out by the constant flow of in coming customers. But good job for working hard at fulfilling orders.

Royal Milk Tea comes with Tapioca. Well, that's probably why it's 50 cents more expensive.

My first experience with Gong Cha was their downtown location that opened up a few months ago and I really liked it. This one is much more spacious, and I like the decor along the walls. Really gives it that antiquated chinese tea house feels. It doesn't have a trap door like the one downtown though, which I honestly think would've been a great addition given the interior design. Well, that half of the room anyways. The other side has a TV mounted onto the wall playing popular korean music videos instead of Gong Cha ads. But the quality of the videos are quite something. Seriously, the videos were so smooth, so detailed. So much better than that youtube-quality stuff. There's also korean pop music playing in the background. You can ask for samples of drinks. This means you might be waiting a bit longer in line, but it's a nice service. Like most (better) bubble tea places, you can customize your sugar level, ice level, and add s number of additional toppings to your drink. I ordered the Royal Milk Tea, large at 50% sugar no ice. It comes with tapioca, but unfortunately it tasted a little too watery to me. Tapioca also didn't feel as nice chewing through. Not sure if more sugar could have improved it. I think perhaps it was lack of milk, or this is just how it is? Now I'm tempted to try another location to see if it's the same.

Milk Tea + Mango Green Tea with Kanten Jelly
Nikki M.

The day I visited this location they told me they ran out of tapioca and the wait would be about 10-15 minutes. I was about to leave, when they recommended I try their Kanten Jelly in lieu of the tapioca. I went with the staff's recommendation - Mango Green Tea with Kanten Jelly and boy, this did not disappoint! In fact, this may be my new favourite drink and could probably do without tapioca now. I loved it so much I went back the next day and got the same exact drink. Thanks Gong Cha!

matcha x milk foam soft serve w sugar cone and red bean

I'm not a huge fan of matcha BUT this gongcha matcha soft serve might be the game changer for me the combo of matcha and milk foam was so perfectly balanced w the red bean and sugar cone pairing

After seeing Gongcha in several locations, I figured Id give it a try. During my visit, I ordered the Wintermelon tea. The location itself is quite nice, equipped with seating, benches, and sofas. The store had a couple of people in it, and there was no line. The service was fast, and it took probably 2 minutes to get my drink. The bubble tea, however, was OK. The Wintermelon tea might've tasted better on its own without toppings, as it was unique and quite flavourful. The grass jelly tasted a lot more medicinal than I'm used to, so I didn't enjoy it that much. Overall, I'd encourage others to try the bubble tea here, but it definitely wouldn't be one of my top choices.

I came on a weekday afternoon, barely anyone in the shop. I ordered a wintermelon milk foam and before I was done paying, the drink was made!!! That was super fast!! I hate eating wintermelon itself but for some reason, I love the taste in drinks!! This is like regular wintermelon tea topped with a thick, creamy, and milk foam. There's also 3 different ways to enjoy this drink: 1. Sip directly without a straw 2. Drink some tea first then drink some milk foam at the top with a straw 3. Stir the milk foam into the tea! I usually first sip a few sips before stirring the two layers into one.

This place has fierce competition in the area. However, it doesn't really distinguish itself from the competition. Similar to other Bubble Tea places, you can adjust the sugar content in your drinks. They have a list of their top 10 most popular drinks on their sign, helping customers make their choices easier and quicker. Service was prompt and our drinks were made fairly quickly. The place was clean with plenty of available seating. They also have a free WiFi too. Nothing to recommend or not to recommend. Drinks were fine. #18 of 2018

Part of their brown sugar series, I believe
Cindy D.

If only they had more locations, I only go here when I'm in the area. I really enjoy their original milk tea, that's my go-to when I go there. I also tried their mango slush with pudding but I wasn't too big of a fan.

Got the milk wintermelon, #1. I was pleasantly surprised, no bitter wintermelon aftertaste. I like the foam layer, great addition.

After trying my vanilla iced latte and my partner's macchiato... I wondered if this place might actually be better known for food or matcha, based on what I've seen in other reviews - the coffee was not good. The espresso beans seemed to be over-roasted, which were quite bitter for our liking as opposed to something more subtly chocolatey and nutty. My iced latte also got watery pretty quickly as the ice melted it seemed, and ended up tasting more like the kind of latte you'd get from a fast-food chain (or the espresso shot was way too long). A bit of a letdown, especially since the two fairly small drinks came to about $18. The space itself is cozy, and I really like the vinyl collection (which earned the 2 stars). That said, the records are noticeably pricey compared to typical vinyl shops like Sonic Boom. A lot of them -- even ones with just Side A -- were priced at $55 and up. I didn't cross-check the barcodes on Discogs, but while I love the curation (especially the focus on Japanese jazz and city pop -- really cool stuff), I find it hard to believe all of them are rare pressings worthy of those $55-to-several-hundred-dollar price tags. As an avid collector myself, I wouldn't come here to buy the records. Service was friendly.

They have a display of records that are available for purchase as well. The atmosphere was very laid back and pleasant to spend some time in your day to work or relax. I had a matcha latte with almond milk this time and I was pleasantly surprised, a perfect level of sweetness, and not to mention the foam! I had no idea this was possible with almond milk! I'll definitely be back to try their coffee and a bite.

We shared the Mango Bingsu, and it was huge--easily enough for the five of us. The flavor was a solid 9/10, super refreshing and delicious. If they had crispy corn flakes on top, it would've been a straight 10/10 for me. We also got two Dalgona Lattes, one with oat milk, and she differentiated them with the coasters, which was such an adorable touch. Now I need to go back just to try more drinks! Parking was free but a little awkward--spots are at an angle, and the plaza can get busy. But honestly, it's worth it. When we went, a few moms were catching up over bingsu, and it was such a wholesome vibe. Can't wait to be back and explore more of the menu!

Was happy to see they still carry the same menu items - especially my favourite injeolmi bingsu! (which I highly recommend). We tried the matcha croffle for the first time today. The croffle was nice and crispy and not too sweet. It was topped with matcha whipped cream(?), which was nice and light but feel as though matcha ice cream might have paired better. Service was friendly and quick as usual. There's free parking at the plaza, though a bit tricky to find a spot during peak hours (dinner-time to closing).

Both the lamb was VERY tender, and I did not have to cut the meat at all as they just fell off. They both came with this onion/garlic-based gravy that went VERY well with the meat. The rice was also flavored, and the combination of all of the food was great. I would love to try their all you can eat, but I wonder if they would all taste pretty similar as the above two dishes were very similar in taste and just different cuts of lamb (nonetheless delicious, especially for the price). I would also like to add that the service was fine, but they can check in with how the food is, offer water, and ask if our coffee be served at the beginning as they seemed to think that we would want it after our meal (based on their response when we asked for coffee again when they served our food). They're probably new to working as a wait staff, but I also shouldn't have to ask multiple times to get their attention as the staff seemed to be watching videos on their phone when I was trying to ask them a question when I was by the counter. I would come back, but I think their service can use a little work.
