I am the first to admit I have an unhealthy obsession with bubble tea for a white boy. I try every place that I can find and I am very particular with what I like. This place is legit. Typical bubble tea shop with lots your normal stuff, but with a few creative twists. Great basic milk teas (I'm a fan of the black and earl gray in particular). Best thing on the menu though is the strawberry milk tea. I LOVE IT! Not something I have found at many other places. It isnt just milk + strawberry powder. It's actually black tea with milk and some type of strawberry puree that isnt overpowering or super sweet. You can still get this drink with 0% sugar and it's the perfect amount of sweetness. They have a lot of other things I am intrigued by and looking forward to checking them out. read more

I had the pleasure of working in NYC Koreatown a couple buildings over from Gong Cha, so I was very excited to find out that they opened Gong Cha in NJ. Of all the boba/bubble tea chains, Gong Cha is my absolute #1. This location in Edison is a little out of the way for me, so I usually stop by the Gong Cha in Garden State Plaza (Paramus) on my way home. However, I will definitely make an effort to come to this location more often because it has a storefront unlike the Paramus location, which is a stand. More importantly, the service and cleanliness of the place impressed me. I have the tendency to get the same thing and I'm no different when at Gong Cha. I typically order the milk green tea with either black pearls or herbal jelly with 30% sugar and either no ice or light ice. Even the lowest sugar level is very sweet for me, so I sometimes get it without sugar and am equally pleased. With that being said, if you do not like very sweet or very creamy bubble tea, you might have to be a little more specific when placing your order. Despite this, I'm still able to taste the tea flavor, which is most important to me regarding the taste. I'm also impressed by Gong Cha because their toppings, particularly the black pearls, always taste fresh. The boba is perfectly chewy. There have been a number of times I've ordered bubble tea from, let's say Kung Fu Tea (yeah, I went there), and the bubbles taste like they've been sitting there and the drink itself tastes artificial, as if they used powder, or too milky. I never have this experience at Gong Cha. What makes this particular location stand out to me is, again, the service and cleanliness. On a relatively weekly basis, I stop by the Gong Cha in Paramus and they have never mentioned their rewards program. Only at this location was I even informed of it. Basically, you give your phone number at each visit and get money off on future orders. To think of the few dollars I could have saved! The girl behind the counter had a friendly demeanor about her that seemed warm and inviting. I also really liked that the place was clean. There were no straw wrappers, sticky floors, etc. It helps that this location is relatively new, but I was impressed by the product, environment, and service regardless. Sidenote: being in the parking lot with Kam Man, parking is relatively easy and accessible. read more

This is definitely my favorite bubble tea place! When you walk in, you're welcomed by a sweet and delightful scent that comes from the bubble teas. Tapioca pearls are a nice consistency and sweetness and they don't charge extra for the pearls like other places do for a standard milk tea order. They also have a nice reward system too where you get $0.10 for every $1 you spend read more

Gong Cha - Peach Oolong and Earl Grey Milk Tea - Bubble Tea Near Me - Edison, New Jersey

I came here with my friends in January 2019. I have been to a lot of Gong Cha in New York and Philly, but never been to this location. So I got a hot wintermelon tea. It was really cold that day and I want a hot drink instead of the regular bubble tea options. My drink tasted the same as the other Gong Cha locations. This is my go to winter drink when I don't know what to get in here. If you never tried it, give it a try! This location is spacious and the lighting is really bright. There are a decent amount of chairs and tables. We came in around 9:00 pm and they closed around 10pm. At that time there were still a lot of customers coming in around 9pm. I can see this is a good hang out spots not only for young teenagers/adults, but also a good family hang out spot as well. read more

This is the best bubble tea I've ever had. Now I don't drink bubble tea regularly but I am definitely educated enough to say this is so good!!! The tapioca is chewy and sweet in a way I've never tasted. Yum yum yum yum read more

Great location and the quality of bubble tea is similar to other Gong Cha locations. Service was a little on the slow side, but the interior is quite clean. They also have a good variety of seasonal specials read more

Gong cha is a go to. They have tasty teas and they are super consistent with having toppings. Everytime I go there I can choose any listed topping and they have it unlike some other tea spot which are constantly out of things. They also have tons of customization. They have 2 sizes, 5 sugar levels, you can swap topping in their signature drinks to anything you want. It's just a well done establishment and their tea usually all taste good even new ones that I try. Well done. read more

This place is magnificent! 1 year ago, it all started to seeing a character in a comic book, drinking a drink with bubbles in it, then that drink came to be my OBSESSION! Gong cha was the first place I went for boba! The Pearl Milk Tea drink is on the high level of satisfaction. I definitely recommend that to new comers! This is also the only place I get boba. For some reason other places don't suit me! Also when coming into this place, your hit with the fresh scent of boba. One thing that surprised me is the most is that you can adjust the sugar levels AND ice levels! Most places I go, I can't really do that so I was a bit shocked! Oh and by the way, there is just not bubble tea here! There is also 3 flavors of bubble waffles. Personally, I like the matcha flavor with tapioca! read more

I got a hot oolong milk tea, but they served it extremely too hot and even with blowing it and waiting for it too cool down it burned my mouth. The tea itself was also not the same and the milk left a bad taste in my mouth. The ratio was definitely all milk and a splash of tea. I don't think I'll be coming back to this specific goncha location. read more

This place has some seriously tasty tea. There are combinations and textures that aren't available in most places. For example, they have something called milk foam green tea with pearls. I got the Pearl Milk Tea (classic) at half sweet. It was delicately flavored. Just what I would expect from a traditional Hong Kong milk tea. The pearls were also perfect. They tasted freshly made and were a good balance of chewy & firm. I really enjoyed my drink. The interior was also very clean. Its sleek and minimalist. If you've been to the Kung Fu Tea in Edison you'll know why this matters. TLDR; While this place is ~30 minutes away from me, I can definitely envision driving here for a fix. read more

I've been drinking bubble tea for ten years, since I was a teen taking visits to Flushing. I can say without a second thought that is the best bubble tea I have ever had. First of all the staff is very kind and very dedicated. I ordered a brown sugar milk tea with tapioca and milk foam. The boba were cooked perfectly and the tea itself was strong and earthy. The milk foam, which I had never tried before, blew me away. This salty almost butterscotch flavor of the foam blended in such an amazing way with the sweet tea. For what it's worth, the price was right for what I got as well. I can't recommend Gong Cha enough, I will be back for more very soon, they have a regular customer in me after just one visit. read more

I'm addicted to their panda bubble tea. I think it's the only place I've been to that has the white bubble (its texture like agar jelly). The combo between the white bubble and tapioca pearls is great. Their bubble tea is always on point. I normally get half sugar everywhere I go because I don't like my teas to be too sweet. Definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area. read more

This is hands down THE best bubble tea place ever. No matter which location I go to (Korea, NYC, and here in Edison), their milk BBT never disappoints. The staff at this particular place is also the best (shoutout to Wing and the manager Joe)!! I was on a mission to try every single milk BBT, & here is my opinion on each flavor: Oolong: my absolute favorite, simply the best one, imo Earl Gray: also a goodie Pearl Milk: a classic, can never go wrong (milk tea w/ herbal jelly is the same drink, just different topping. Pearl is better) Caramel: good, but personally for me, too sweet Brown Sugar: also really good Brown Sugar w/ Ginger: I was so intrigued by this one, since I really like the regular brown sugar, & I LOVE ginger in general. However, this one is a miss. The first sip is interesting. But 3 sips in, & I had to throw it out. Green Milk: simple, & good! But I prefer it w/ pearl over the suggested white pearl (the consistency of the white pearl is much different than regular pearl) Taro: a cult favorite. Good, but personally, I get sick of the taste after a couple of sips. Coffee: a good one to order for coffee lovers. I've also tried the new sparkler series, which is basically just a cold, carbonated drink. It is the perfect drink to get on a super hot day! I recommend the lime flavor. Lychee oolong tea is also a refreshing drink for a hot day, but it is a bit on the sweet side. Also, ALWAYS order half sugar and light ice for the best ratio!!!! :) read more

My sis took me here for the first time this past weekend. For a local spot, I didn't even know this place existed! From the outside, if you don't know Chinese, it would appear to be a Chinese restaurant, so it's easy to miss if you're looking for a place with bubble tea pictures and whatnot... this place, like many other tea joints, have a million combos of teas. You can order one of their pre-established drinks or you can customize your own. From the different drink flavors to adding pearls and herbal jelly to various milks such as almond or soy... the combinations are endless... the only reason why I give it 4 of 5 stars is the price... Pretty expensive for a drink... read more

Gong Cha - Bubble Tea Near Me - Edison, New Jersey

I came back here on Valentine's Day and is an update to my previous review. I noted that the tapioca bubbles were not as chewy in my first bubble tea but this time around, they were absolutely perfect! Because it was Valentine's Day, they were giving out chocolate dipped pretzel sticks decorated appropriately for Valentine's Day with your bubble tea. Gong Cha has now become my go-to spot for bubble tea and I have to admit that I have developed an unhealthy addiction to bubble tea. read more

So excited to hear that my favorite New York bubble tea spot has come to New Jersey! Came here for the soft open when the staff was still getting warmed up and used to the site, but the service was quick and efficient! Stopped by again after the grand opening and was impressed by the improvement! On par with any other gongcha I've been to and the service was great! A gong cha in central jersey! I like this bubble tea chain, as I favor being able to select the sugar level on my tea. Other bubble tea places are just too sweet. I bought the milk tea with panda bubbles (which were just regular tapioca balls and white jellies) with 30% sugar and light ice. I didn't like the white jellies so much and the 30% sugar could have had even less sugar but I didn't want to go with no sugar. All in all, a good experience. read more

Nice deco and set up. Very clean. Mango green tea was delicious! I will return with friends to try other drinks. True to my word, I went back the same day. I brought my 9 yr old son, the bubble tea expert; he loves the taro milk tea! He said this was the best one, and we've tried many different places in the area. This will be our 'go to' spot now. Also wanted to mention the employees there are friendly and courteous. Thanks GONG CHA! read more

Wow this bubble tea chain is amazing! Their drinks tastes so good and flavorful. It is far from powder based drinks. I got the strawberry milk tea is god delicious. It tastes like real strawberries. So much better than Kung Fu Tea and would take it over any day. The store is very clean and the ambiance is very nice. The service was okay. It wasn't anything special but the drinks dId come out pretty fast. Def give this place a try. read more

Gong cha is the real mvp when it comes to making bubble tea. So so bubble tea and generally they make it super sweet even when you asked them to make it less sugar.

One star rating for the quality of the bubble tea itself, because this location really needs to do something about the wait time. It should NOT take over 20 minutes for any customer to get their drinks made. Either train the staff to be more efficient or hire more staff. This is not only unacceptable but extremely frustrating. read more

Came here to buy drinks for my family on Sunday. I asked to use the restroom and the girl said no. I asked why she replied with an annoyed tone "it's because of covid". I spent over $20 for drinks and I couldn't use their restroom to wash my hands? Also, there's another person in line got shout at for coming in without masks. This place got good drinks but not the best service. I usually don't write reviews but created an account just for this because I was so mad. Never coming back again.
