I haven't been back for a while. I used to come here on a weekly basis for their Hawaiian pizza and antipasto salads. I have always enjoyed their pizza. Since COVID, there were other pizza locations closer. Long story short, I came in today to try out their linguine and clams and a side of tarimisu. The portion of the pasta was huge. The flavor was decent. I would recommend ordering it without green onions. The family size linguine and clams came with a side salad or soup. I chose the salad. It was a good salad. The tiramisu was very good. I enjoyed it very much. For those who have never come here, the service consists of a customer lining up to order and pay. Then you are given a number, if your dining there. They give you your food. If you need to refill your drinks or pack up your food, you have to go up there to ask for the items. The dirty dishes get picked up by staff after you leave. It's a very mom and pop shop type of pizza joint. The locals come eat here a lot. read more

We gave Gondola's another try. Once again, VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! First, when we finally got someone on the phone (Thursday evening, not a weekend), I asked how many people a family size Chicken Alfredo serves. The girl answered, "It depends on how much you eat". What kind of answer is that?? Second, I was told the order would be ready in 20 minutes. We arrived there 25 minutes later and they had NOT made it. If you have the right expectations, Gondolas is amazing. It's been around since my boomer Dad was in high school, locally owned pizza place and red-sauce Italian casual spot. They also have good pastas and salad, for eat-in or takeout. Favorites among my family are the pizzas - any toppings, we haven't found a bad one yet and their pizza sauce in particular is delicious. Get a meatball with your pasta, yum. And their antipasto salad is pretty standard and tasty. Their hot torpedo sandwiches are my dad's favorite, and big enough to share, especially if you're getting anything else with it. The bread that comes with the dinners is surprisingly blah, for how good their crust is. And if it's not a red sauce here, I'd skip it personally. Here's where the expectations come in - it WILL take time to receive your order! It may even take time to TAKE your order! This isn't P Hut or dominos. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. No flop on the crust. Excellent red sauce and very good cheese. The pepperoni was perfectly crispy.

Still a homey feel inside and lots of seating. Easy to create your own pizza with ingredients galore. We did a half and half extra large: sausage, pepperoni, onions and bell peppers and the other half Canadian bacon wig pineapple. Enjoyed the thinner crust but not too thin. Liked that they put tons of ingredients along with cheese and sauce. They don't scrimp. The crust edge is crispy which was nice. We also grabbed a slice of their dark chocolate cake and it was moist and really good. Glad we decided to come back and check it out again. Was pleased. This place it's consistently great. I order the preliminary and mushroom large and it feeds s family of four. For less than 10 bucks more you can get an extra large pizza and that's a great deal. Leftovers are just a good. Plenty of parking is available. Prices are fairly decent. Staff is super friendly. This is a great choice when I'm the la mirada area. OK, so I was at gondola Pizza on Mother's Day. It was me and my dad and my grandma and it took like an hour and 40 mins to give us our food. I ordered a soup a fettuccine Alfredo. My grandma ordered a pasta, a salad and eggplant Parmesan and my dad ordered like like a sandwich and the only thing that came out where the drink is just soda the salad and the and the sandwich and it was really annoying and we got a refund and we got in order to go they give us our order to go. It seemed like they forgot about it and it seemed like the order was really like. I didn't put much a car into it like my Alfredo. The sauce was literally just hot water and it was really watery and the spaghetti was like really plastic taste like Chef Boyardee like it was awful and they can't even deliver a free tiramisu to my house im so sad read more

First time trying this local pizza joint and they definitely don't skimp on the toppings. Two slices of the large were more than enough for me thanks to the loads of sausage and veggies that they pile high on their pizza. The prices are a bit high for pizza, but the amount of food you get is also more than you would probably expect. We were referred here by one of the other local businesses, and are glad to have found it. read more

We waited a while because they were poppin busy. It's a Saturday night. The waitress was understandably all over the place. Our food was good. I really liked the eggplant parmesan. My husband got the calzone, which he enjoyed. It was loud, but there are a lot of families present. read more

I had a HORRIBLE phone experience with an employee today. She refused to give me her name and refused to provide me with any manager information. I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes and then had to call back because I was transferred to an answering service. Every time I called, I couldn't speak I was placed on hold immediately. Once I finally got someone on the phone, I instantly received an attitude and when I asked to speak to a manger she responds with "a manager isn't here today, so are you going to order or not because we have a line of people inside waiting and I don't have time for this." When I proceeded to tell her about my wait time on hold, she proceeds to tell me "we have an hour wait, and we are busy." I've worked in customer service before and in a busy food service job as well, this is not how you speak to someone, regardless if you are busy and frustrated. Everything this place is amazing from the food to the staff! They pizza is loaded and the family spaghetti is so yummy!

I've been looking for that local hole in the wall pizza that satisfies your pizza craving. And Gondola Pizza is that place. The pizza was so good that my son's eyes lit up as he bit into his first slice. We love that the crust isn't too fluffy but not super crispy either, it's just right. We haven't tried any specialty pizzas. I've tried the chicken pesto sandwich which was delicious. The large is actually pretty large. I only ate one half and had to save it for later. The place itself gets busy but the workers move fast and are friendly. They offer dine in and take out. You can also order for delivery with DoorDash. I recommend calling ahead if you plan on taking it home, although depending on how busy it is, it may take awhile to get through. read more

I have been a customer for over 20 years. I have always enjoyed the food. However, the service has always been an issue in my experience. So many times I have waited at the counter to place my order while two sometimes three employees are standing there laughing and talking. Totally ignoring me. "Blatant disrespect and possible racial discrimination." This was one of the most upsetting dining experiences I've ever had. My wife and I came in around 5 PM, ordered a combination pizza and beer, and waited... and waited. We finished our beers but no pizza. When we asked the staff, they brushed us off with a lazy excuse: "Combination pizza takes longer." Meanwhile, other tables -- who arrived 20 to 30 minutes after us -- were being served the exact same pizza. When we asked again, we were told, "It's coming soon." Then another table that arrived much later than us got their combination pizza before us. It was clear we were being ignored. We demanded to speak to a supervisor. Shockingly, she offered no apology, no explanation -- just rudely said we'd get a refund and could eat the pizza for free when it finally came. Her attitude was disrespectful and offensive. As an Asian couple, we couldn't ignore the feeling that this might have been racially motivated. We left deeply disappointed, angry, and humiliated. This place ruined our evening, and their behavior is completely unacceptable. I strongly warn others -- think twice before coming here. read more

Gondola is a landmark for La Mirada and surrounding cities. I hadn't eaten here in years, but my grandpa brought some pizza home from here recently. It was good, solid pizza, but not my fave. I think I prefer the pasta here. I remember it being fantastic. I would like to go dine in and enjoy pasta and wine. This is a local family owned Italian restaurant, and by far the best Italian food you will ever eat! We have tried everything from here and some of our favorites are the anti-Pasta salad with their homemade Italian dressing, DEFINITELY THE PIZZA! Any toppings are good but the sausage is the absolute best! You have to get sausage on your pizza! We also love the meatball sandwiches! We add cheese and mushroom to ours, the meatballs are a homemade recipe and unmatched anywhere else! Their garlic bread is also amazing! You really can go wrong! We've called multiple times and either someone picks up and just leaves us hanging in silence (no greeting, no "hold on," nothing), or they throw us on hold and never come back. Must be totally new owners now because the last half dozen times we've gone the pizzas had meager toppings, black/rotten mushrooms that should have been thrown away instead of given to guests and the crust was burnt.
