I am absolutely new in golf, didn't even know what's all the equipment called. Originally I wanted to learn coz a lot of my customers play golf, but now I actually like golf. Coach jay was very very patient and nice, the way he explain everything is clear and easy to understand. Now I can hit the ball and the position is correct. Jay is very professional. I saw many students who has years of golf experience also go there to be better. Jay teaches large range of ppl, no matter you know nothing about golf you you have years of experience and want to be better. All staff are friendly. I go there every week. I strongly suggest that. read more

Within 15 minutes of getting my swing analyzed, my ball flight went from a draw to dead straight with two simple bio-mechanical changes. It all started with my grip! If you have never taken lessons, this system is for you! If you have taken lesson intermittently, this system is for you! If you play elite golf, this system is for you! The system is based on bio-mechanics and physics and it's why people get good so fast! Life is too short to play bad golf! Get your FREE 15 minute evaluation today! read more

I took just 6 lessons with Rafael at Jay Lim Golf and what a difference! Their philosophy about body mechanics and golf changed my game totally. I am more confident and I know what I need to do to hit great shots. read more

I have been playing golf now just over 30 years and I started late at 40+....Also I'd like to point out that I have taken lessons from the recognized top 3 or 4 golf teachers in the world. I got down to a 4 handicap in my early years and I've won a number of major tournaments at my home course, Riviera C. C. I'm now in my middle 70's and I was struggling with my swing and distance. In just 2 lessons with Jay my improvement is mind boggling I no longer lose shots to the right and just played and hit a couple of drives 240+ What he teaches WORKS. All the things he talks about are easy to assimilate and put into play on the course. THANK YOU JAY read more

Jay Lim definitely knows golf. The studio and golf simulator has definitely help my posture and I have improved my swing.

I started looking for a golf instructor for my son a few months ago and Jay Lim got my attention by his website and all the great reviews and testimonials. I decided to take my son in and found that Jay has golf broken down to a science. My son has significantly improved and now better understands golf. There are so many golf instructors out there but Jay is set apart from the rest. Every lesson with him is valuable. My son has learned a lot and has shown immediate improvement. I also like the fact that Jay offers a a single digit handicap program. This goes to show that there can be quantifiable and proven results with Jay. The golf studio is far from where I live but I continue to make the crazy long drive there every week to take lessons with Jay. He is that good!!! read more

I have been working with Jay over the last 9 months. He is a GREAT instructor. He not only teaches you HOW, he explains the WHY. All while having a lot of fun! As a result, I have finally gained a true understanding of what a correct, efficient, and repeatable golf swing looks and feels like. (And it does feel great!) Do yourself a favor and invest in your swing. It makes the game so much more enjoyable! read more

Jay Lim takes a very refreshing, straight forward, stripped down approach to golf that is often overlooked in today's world of golf gadgetry and gimmicks. I took my very green 15 year old sophomore daughter to Jay over the summer and in just a handful of one on ones the results were immediate. My daughter went from a freshman "make the team" golfer to a letter man with a bright future. She has a very promising future and we will continue to use Jay over the next couple of years as she grows. Not only is Jay a very intent and communicative instructor, he is a family man with local ties! I recommend Jay to the casual hacker(like me) or better yet to the up and coming golfers who want to establish a crucial baseline in their approach to the tee to their finish like a pro! Thanks Jay and see you soon! read more

I can't say enough about the amount of success I've had with Jay. I'm a scratch player and I really think with more practice and guidance my game will go to the next level. I've taken many lessons from all kinds of instructors but no one has broken down the swing this well. Go see him or sign up for his online site! read more

Jay really gets me to believe in my golf ability and instills a lot of confidence in myself. I've been taking lessons from jay since jay lim golf academy and now here at golf code. He really understands the golf swing and I've learned so much in my time with him. I've sent a couple of friends to him as well. I don't just send him anyone either. I send him the biggest challenges. People who have no business being on a golf course. Why? Cuz I'm tired of these hacks slowing down backing up the rounds for everyone. So thank you jay for helping everyone who wants to enjoy a well paced golf round. Everyone benefits from jay. read more

I have taken over 30 lessons with 5 different instructors over my golfing career. My understanding of the processes I need to incorporate in my swing has increased tremendously. I know it's a marathon and not a sprint, but with Max as my coach, I know I will get to the finish line. read more

Jay is a great instructor with a refreshing and modern view on the golf swing. The training studio is great and his schedule is accommodating, which was very important to me because I'm a full time employee and student. Once she started working with Max, my 12yr old daughter has seen significant improvement in her game. He's an amazing instructor, very patient, listens to our needs, and clearly communicates with easy, straightforward language. The video analysis is a plus and has been extremely effective for helping my junior golfer understand the lesson and biomechanics overall. She has more discipline on-course now and an ability to self correct if something is off. I absolutely recommend a lesson with Max, and you will not regret the time and money spent at Golf Code 360. read more

This was my first lesson with Jay in his studio, Golf Code 360. We spent a good amount of time talking about my past instructors and how I have developed as a player. I personally like this approach as there's a history/evolution of my swing and what I am currently struggling with, which all helps the instructor know where I am coming from. Jay teaches a biomechanical swing in a program that he has developed. He was very clear from the start that his program would help me develop an efficient swing based on the laws of physics. I've had much success with a biomechanical instructor in the past, so I was eager and excited to hear more. He explained the program/swing in detail and it got me thinking that I would be able see success with his program just with a few sessions. We then got me hitting balls with an iron of my choice, of which I picked a 7 iron into one of his simulators. I haven't done many lessons on simulators solely (been on trackmans many times) but I did really like the immediate feedback it gave me, especially being able to see the characteristics of my common flight pattern and misses. Luckily that day, I was able to repeat what my typical swing is like in decent form! Immediately after hitting about a dozen balls, Jay gave me a breakdown of his analysis. What I can say for sure, is that Jay has remarkable sense of processing what he sees immediately in combination with the flight monitor numbers. In the very short time of hitting just for less than five minutes, he detailed what he saw in my swing. I believe we first spoke about my typical swing which is a draw and my misses would be hook about 10-20 yards left of my target. We then got into my setup and he explained how I could adjust my setup to be more biomechanically efficient. He is the first instructor to ever point out EXACTLY how I was bending over to my address. To my surprise, I was not bending over properly from one point of my hips and instead in three areas: lower part of hips, upper part of hips, and shoulder. Man, this alone was worth this lesson. All good swings start with a proper foundation and this is something I needed to correct (which I have been working on over the weeks). We then got into grip and how inconsistently I was gripping the club which created sometimes the dreaded hook. Now the final point which is the cherry on top: He explained the biomechanical swing standing straight up and how the swing was just shoulders turning and arms folding back and through but with lower body engaged. He then demonstrated how it was the same thing but with the proper bent over position. What I was doing was not the same. I was moving my arms up and down which is re-routing my plane. I've been playing the game for a while now, so I am able to repeat with this re-routing but does it make sense to make things more complicated than it needs to be? For me, I want to make my swing as simple as possible to repeat, so this was great info and news for me. Without making this review any longer as it is, I'll simply say that I have had a lot of prior thoughts and research around this subject, but Jay was able to answer them for me in this session. He got all that plus more just from a dozen shots! Jay, thanks for the incredible lesson. I hope to be back soon for the next step into your program! read more

Jay is an exceptional golf coach. I've been golfing for 7 years and had 3 previous golf instructors from Pasadena, to Koreatown, and West LA. Jay is hands down the best. FUNDAMENTALS & KNOWLEDGE My golf game did not improve until I met Jay. My previous coaches would always tell me to swing, then "adjust" my swing, hands, footwork, etc., without explaining the purpose behind the adjustments. One coach would adjust my swing mid-way through the swing or tell me to hinge my wrists mid-way through the swing and never explained why - this was frustrating. The "adjustments" would translate into results during the lessons, but they were NEVER repeatable. The day after I had these other coaches' lessons I could not hit the ball and it was very frustrating trying to figure out why. After taking lessons with Jay he taught me the fundamentals of the golf swing from: set-up, to hand position, to posture. Now, I have a specific routine that I follow every time I play and practice. If my shots become erratic during play, I just go back to the fundamentals: step 1 - grip, step - 2 posture, step - 3 set-up, etc. and that enables me to "get back on track," rather than guessing and getting frustrated. One invaluable detail I learned from Jay that my previous coaches never taught me was the plane of the lower half of the golf club. Typically, during set-up you grip the club and rest it on the ground and assume the plane is parallel to the ground. However, depending on your grip that plane may unintentionally change. And even a small change can make a big difference. Jay taught me to check the plane of the golf club before every swing and make adjustments if necessary. This detail improved my swing dramatically and made my shots more straight and consistent. COMMUNICATION Jay is a great communicator. He explains golf theory very articulately and clearly. He will always tell you "why" he's teaching you a particular aspect of the golf swing, instead of saying "just because." In addition, his video work and hands-on instruction allow you to see every detail of your swing, which allows you more information to digest, which translates into faster and substantive results. MOTIVATIONAL Jay is also a motivational and inspiring coach. He will challenge you beyond your limits to make you improve and offer enlightening perspectives to make you think creatively. One issue I had was swing speed. I would always swing slow because I didn't think I could hit the ball swinging fast. Jay changed that immediately. First, he told me to swing a baseball bat (I used to play high school baseball). The baseball swing was fast and controlled. Then, he told me to use the same mentality to swing at the golf ball. I remember distinctly, he said "don't think, just hit it like a baseball." I did and I crushed the ball. The ball would travel on average 30 yards farther (using a PW). My contact was good, distance was good, but I still had to work on direction. But after a few lessons and adjustments my direction improved and my shots were consistently landing on the green or within 10 yards of the green. I remember hitting 10 consecutive shots that landed directly on the green - VICTORY. LESSON PLAN Jay prepares a detailed lesson plan for every lesson. Jay tailors each lesson specifically to your development, which allows for consistent and incremental improvement. He will also give you homework and important techniques to practice before the next lesson. My previous coaches would just tell me to "hit" at the range. Jay tells me to hit with goals in mind - that's the difference between a regular instructor and GREAT instructor. FACILITIES Jay has a great facility with high end golf and video equipment. His place is clean and spacious and parking is always easy. He also offers a practice area with video simulation where you can practice before and after every lesson - that's a huge plus when you're in the groove after a great lesson and you just want to hit more. CONCLUSION I would highly recommend Jay to anyone that wants to learn golf. He will teach you long lasting fundamentals, challenge you to be your best, but most importantly, improve your game significantly. read more

I can't thank Jay enough, the best instructor you'll ever find. Absolutely amazing what he can do for your game.

Jay Lim is the absolute man! Would have given higher then 5 stars if possible. Jay understands the game in its entirety and breaks golf down to its simplest form with informative but simple explanations that are wicked easy for anyone to follow. He makes golf easy for any level golfer. I have been golfing for 15 years and finally decided I get a lesson and chose the Jay Lim golf academy and I'm glad I did! First lesson got right to work after a brief discussion on what I thought were my issues. Instant results and in my 15 years have never hit more pure golf shots until I met Jay. The best part is he does all this without reconstructing you're natural and already established swing. He tweaks a few things from what you already have. I'm extremely confident that with his knowledge and expertise I will reach my full potential as a golfer. With the tools provided by Jay I can take my game to the next level and as far as I want to go. Lastly it makes the game more enjoyable when you are playing better and more solid rounds. I would highly recommend the Jay Lim Golf Academy to anyone who wants instant results and to take their game to the next level. read more

I've taken lessons before from different instructors and they could all benefit from taking lessons from Jay. Lessons with him are "real" It's real education about the game of golf. He's not just a great golf instructor, he's an amazing INSTRUCTOR! I used to walk away from a lesson confused and wondering if I didn't get it or if the teacher didn't explain well enough. Here, I end each lesson with complete understanding and that's how lessons should be. I've stayed to watch other clients and some of these golfers are amazing. They definitely talk at different levels and Jay is as versatile with beginners to pros. If you really want to get good at golf, you have to start here. Highly recommended, I'd give this place 10 stars! read more

Jay is my daughter's swing coach. He took her from a +11 to a +1 handicap. With the help of his teaching, she went on to become league champ in her junior year, league runner up her senior year, and is now playing golf for her dream college. His systematic approach to the golf swing has given her a solid understanding of the biomechanics necessary for repeatable shotmaking. He's truly one of the best golf coaches around. read more

I've been a weekend warrior golfer for many years now. I was the type to watch every video series, read every magazine and subscribed to every swing theory. Nothing really worked, I had some success but never really gained the consistency I was after. I found golf code 360 and after reading reviews I thought I would give them a try. I've been working with Max for a handful of months now. We've been working hard on developing a consistent repeatable swing. I can honestly say my full swing with my irons is the best it's ever been. We've since moved on to the driver and the short game. I'm excited to get that part of my game in sync. What I am impressed with, is that Max explains what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. It helps when I'm practicing on my own because I know what I'm doing wrong based on the results of my shots. I'm looking forward to continuing my work with Max and lower scores in the future. read more

I have been playing golf for 2 years now and I have had three different instructors who taught me three different ways to swing. I was not happy with the way I was being taught and looked for a new instructor. I tried out golf 360 studio for a swing analysis, I knew right then I met someone who knows what they are talking about. After my first session I can say I am sold on this program. The instructor is top class and very encouraging, he holds you accountable too so whatever you learn that day make sure you practice as much as you can. I am really excited and encouraged about my golf game moving forward read more

Jay is a machine! This guy can analyze you, your swings, your mentality and help you breakdown the intention and physical mechanics of golf to help adjust how you think about and play the game. I came to Jay with specific requests on my irons and driver, he accommodated me and help take 20+ strokes off my next game, but just like an overweight person hitting the gym I saw good results right away. Rather than ask him for specific lessons I should have let him show me his system. After just 3 lessons in the system (not including my specific requests) I now know what my set up should be, how I should connect with the ball and what sequence to do it in. Jay was able to break down my body movements into easy to understand and relatable pieces that I could focus on and modify to have tremendous results. I tell folks now after working with Jay that I used to spend average $110 per month (1 range bucket per week, and 1 game per month) thousands of dollars over the last few years practicing the wrong things, when I could have invested a little bit of time and money with Jay in the beginning to know what to practice and how. Honestly my game is much more enjoyable, I am breaking sub 100 scores and I now know if I hit a miss shot why and how to adjust myself. The time and lessons with Jay are invaluable and I just wish I knew him earlier! read more

Don't understand 100% 5 star reviews. My lesson the instructor was texting on his phone and barely paying attention. Had to ask him if he was going to give me a lesson or need to reschedule. Yes I understand you get worse for the first few lessons but the 2nd lesson wasn't getting his full attention. I prepaid for 5 lessons and walked away in frustration. Went to someone else and got immediate results. Maybe the high reviews is he's learned to put the phone down and focus on his clients. read more

Max is one of the best instructors in Southern Cal. I played golf for about a year before I came and took a lesson and saw a 15 shot improvement. The philosophy taught makes the golf swing easy and repeatable. I definitely recommend all skill levels to give Max a try and see their game improve! read more

If you are a beginner or golf like one, you should take lessons from Jay. He is a fantastic teacher and turned my game around. I have taken golf lessons on and off for about 20 years. After each set of lessons, I seemed to actually get worse. Moreover, each instructor spent a good portion of the lessons explaining why my last instructor was not very good and steered me in the wrong direction. This summer I decided to really focus on golf lessons and take lessons 5 days a week for 4 weeks. I interviewed about 6 or 7 instructors via telephone and all of them pretty much had the same thing to say except for Jay. After hearing my history, Jay felt I needed to start over again, learn the game from scratch. No more trying to just tweak things here and there. Jay also explained his methodology which was very different than other instructors. Jay started at the beginning and focused on the fundamentals. He made me "unlearn" all my bad habits. Over the course of 4 weeks I went from a golf disaster to someone who confident on the golf course playing with others. Jay was with me for my first par! Jay also empowered me to understand when I am doing something wrong and how to correct my mistakes. Finally, working with Jay in his studio was a fantastic experience -- there is a greater element of precision in analyzing distance and the studio is private. No need to feel self -conscious about other hearing your conversation and listening to your lesson. I am not from Southern California but if I am back again, I'll be taking more lessons from Jay. read more

plain and simple.. golf can be a complicated and frustrating game..but jay lim's pure impact system makes it easy.. many people can hit a golf ball, and maybe even post a decent score..but not many people can teach it.. jay can instantly see and interpret what swing changes you need to make to create a golf swing that repeats and has minimal to no variables.. it doesnt matter if its full swing, short game, putting or anything else..come see Jay..he will help you out!! read more

Best Golf Instructor in Orange County. Jay has taught me more in five lessons than all of my previous instructors from the past 15 years combined. Major improvement in my game. read more

I recently had a fantastic half hour lesson with Jay Lim. My desire was to increase distance with the driver and he quickly evaluated and corrected my golf swing. It was amazing what a difference his instruction made. I finished my bucket of balls with at least a 50% increase in distance using my upper and lower body properly and making better contact with the ball. Jay is extremely knowledgeable - a great instructor who explains the mechanics concisely and clearly. He makes sure you understand and encourages you to ask questions I was also impressed in how quickly he responded to my emails and set up the appointment. I took advantage of the Groupon voucher for the 30 minute golf lesson and I'm so glad I did. I would highly recommend this golf academy and look forward to taking more lessons and improving my score. read more

Phenomenal place to take lessons. Max completely redid my swing, and because of it, I have easily shaved 25 strokes off my handicap (not exaggerating). They will teach you the right way to be a serious golfer that allows you to continue to improve every time you play. I highly recommend this place!!! read more

Been taking lessons with Jay off and on for a couple years now, and he never fails to address what is wrong with my swing. Every lesson there is immediate improvement, whether you are building upon previous lessons, or if you regress due to lack of practice. I feel you get more than what you pay for because Jay has been through the trenches and the grind that weekend warriors (scoring in the 100s) have gone through that PGA professional instructors haven't (since they have played growing up). To elaborate, I feel that PGA professional instructors may give the wrong advice/lessons because although it works for them, they grew up with that type of swing and they have grown used to that swing, and so their advice/lessons may not apply to you. But Jay gives the proper way to swing bio-mechanically, because that's how he figured it out later in his life the way a body and its limitations is supposed to move. With so much trial and error, Jay has also figured out what and why causes your golf ball to slice or hook, or why you hit a thin or fat shot, and even better... how to correct it! read more

I had worked with 5 or 6 PGA professionals and even took a series with golf tek. They all had similar results, some improvement but they never could explain cause and effect for long term results. With 360golf studios, we discussed cause and effect in easy to understand terms. I have been a high single digit handicap for 30 years. I hit the ball better and more consistent no than ever and my handicap is less than 1. The key to high quality golf instruction is, after you leave, can you continue to improve and when you are on the course, can you continue to know how to fix your swing. I use the word "know" because I don't need to guess. I know what the result will be, which makes all the difference. read more

I have had 3 lessons so far with Jay and have improved tremendously. I never realized in all my years playing golf that my swing was incorrect. I've gone to countless golf lessons for the past decade and started off with Jay almost 2 years ago as a complete newbie. Even just from the very first lesson, I realized that I was doing everything all wrong. He taught the fundamentals of the perfect biomechanics of the swing and has since advanced me to a complete golfer from off the tee, to my iron game, to putting. He has a system and method for every part of the game that is logical and completely unique and backed by science. Jay Lim is the hidden gem of the entire golf coaching world and arguably the best golf instructor out there. Highly recommend anyone, at any level, to check out Jay Lim and his world-class instructors! read more

I initially found GolfCode 360 through Groupon. I took an introductory lesson and decided to sign up for a package of (5) 1 hour lessons. I worked with Max. Before the lessons I was floating between the low 90's and high 80's on most days. I have taken lessons before and play on a regular basis but had seemed to plateau and not make much improvement over the past few years. What attracted me to this particular program is that it is structured with a logical way of how I should be trying to swing the golf club. Each lesson we would continue to work on the overall swing while adding small additions. In between the lessons I would work on these points and my overall swing 2-3 times at the range or on the course. I just completed the lessons and have seen on average a 4-5 stroke improvement. I am making much stronger contact which has resulted in improved distance. Best of all I have a better understanding of my swing and what may be causing errant shots. I am planning to take another 5 lessons and hope to see more improvement. Max is a good instructor who makes himself available via cell/text for questions as you progress. Scheduling lessons has been easy and I would recommend Golf Code 360 / Max to my friends and family. read more

I originally got lessons to play better than my friends but that happened already so now I can tell everyone my secret - Jay Lim. He's not your typical golf instructor reading from someone's book. He doesn't just regurgitate, he gives you instruction, then explains it, demonstrates it and helps you accomplish it. This is how golf instruction should be. I waited almost 2 weeks to get an appointment but it was totally worth it. The proof is in his students and his own swing. If you're looking for real information you can apply immediately, go see him you won't regret it. read more
