This store is the best in the area though in terms of size and sheer quantity of merchandise available! This store is massive and has the best golf selection in OC! They offer so many different types of clothing, golf accessories and new and used clubs. I've bought a few sets of clubs here both for myself and my kids and they are all top quality! I also like how they have a 3 month return policy and if you want to upgrade your clubs within 1 year you get a $699.99 credit for any pre-packaged Adult Package or Starter Set. I haven't used that for myself but I did take advantage of that for my kids. I also like their indoor driving range to try out new clubs. I've purchased clothing and golf accessories here as well and they have a super great selection and variety. Overall, I just wish the sales employees weren't so condescending to women.... but the younger guys don't do that as much, so like I said, just try to get a younger guy to help you if you're female and it will be a much more pleasant shopping experience! This is a 5 star store but if you're a woman you blatantly don't get treated as well as if you're a man - hence my 4 star review.

I went on July 3rd around 1 pm so parking was horrendous. I parked near Barnes & Nobles and took the escalator down to the store. Before I entered the store I checked my order on my phone and noticed I got the wrong size. I walked in and didn't see a sign for online pick-up orders so just went to a register with a cashier. I walked up to them (there was young employee and an older employee having a conversation at the register) and let them know I was there to pick up an online order and the guy at the register looked up my order. As he was doing that, I informed him that I would need to exchange it for a large/extra large and he said sure. He went to grab my online order from the wall, came back and handed it to me and said have a good day and began busying himself with something else. I stood there for a few seconds and asked him if he could please let me know where these life jackets were located because I need to exchange it for a bigger size (second time letting him know this). He then said it was in the back corner and pointed to the back corner. Where it fell short for me is that I let him know I would need to exchange it and either it didn't clock for him to fulfill my request by going and getting the larger size and bringing it back to the register OR he straight up ignored my request and didn't want to go get it. I'm going to say he straight up ignored my request and didn't want to go get it. At that point, I would rather just pick my online order up from a Amazon locker type contraption, go to the back and get the correct sized life jacket, then exchange it and self-checkout myself. I'm against getting rid of humans for jobs, but if the in-person experience is worse than dealing with a computer screen, then I would rather deal with the computer screen. Also, I realize this is a store that highers young people, but it's a branding issue if you don't have pride in training your employees to go above and beyond. In this case, it would have been taking a few extra steps to go get the life jacket size I needed, bringing it back to the register and completing an exchange. Not a crazy ask in my opinion, and it's a standard customer service request and it was not busy at all during this time. It could've been better and for the reason of parking being a little more stressful than other locations and poor customer service, I'd suggest going to another Dick's Sporting Goods or Big 5.

I had been to the UGP in LA, which I was very impressed with and was excited to hear they would be opening in Orange County. Now that UGP OC is open, I cant tell you how amazing the experience is. It is in a class by itself!! UGP is an experience that stands out in many ways. Facility: Very Clean and an environment that is very comfortable to work on yourself in so many ways that can help your golf game and physical/mental wellbeing. You can absolutely tell they had a team of great professionals doing the design and build out of this space. Staff: Everyone at UGP is a true professional. The training that UGP has for the employees is very, very good. It is all about the client in all aspects. They really work together to make everyday special! The culture they have created really shows in everyone's passion for the client and the brand! Club Fitting: The club fitting process at UGP is something taken very seriously. They offer all makes and models of clubs and are not biased on one particular brand like some other fitters. They have two Master Fitters on staff who are incredibly experienced at fitting you into the proper equipment. They have invested in the best equipment available, and they use that to their advantage when fitting. Club Building: At UGP they dont just install grips and change loft and lies for your clubs. They build all your clubs custom and have the equipment that allows them to build every club to your exact specs. They also are able to complete custom grinds to your wedges. They have built my clubs and I cant begin to tell how detailed they were in every aspect of this process. Gym: The gym has so many tools that helps the trainers get you the best for your workout. It is amazing how many different options they have for you depending on your fitness needs. Recovery Room: The recovery room is where I go to get stretched out by one of the physical therapists and to get the my body to feel better after workouts. This room has several different ways and tools available that can help in the process. The room is simply incredible. Technology: State of the art in every room is evident. From Trackman in every hitting bay, to a wide variety of machines and weights to get you the best training available, it is all there for you. The staff is trained on how to use all of these tools to better your experience. Locker room: The locker room is a very comfortable space that is really well designed. There are four luxurious bathrooms with spacious showers, which makes the experience complete. UGP is a life changer and I am very glad to say I am a member. It has already had a huge impact on my life in many ways. You will not be disappointed! read more

I have been golfing competitively since high school, but the game has suffered after having three awesome kids. I will also reluctantly admit that I am not in the best of shape either these days. I was thinking about joining a gym when a friend of mine told me about UGP. Of course, I was curious so I set up an appointment to go check it out. From the moment I drove up to the facility, I could just feel the positive energy. I was greeted by a UGP team member at my car and then escorted in for an initial assessment and a tour. Within 15 minutes of talking with Manny and the guys, I was 100% all in. If you are not familiar with how they do things or why they are superior and different to any other coaching company in the market place then you have to see for yourself first hand. The best way I can describe it. Is that is it like having your own PGA coaching and training team focused on you every single day. As part of the membership, you get access to a PGA tour professional who will help you work on your swing. A strength and conditioning coach who will help you work on your core, lower body, upper body and most importantly flexibility so that you can increase club speed and distance while ensuring you can play the game we love for years to come. Then finally is recovery. Working with Andrew and Manny making sure my body is able to get after it again the next day is worth the price of admission alone. Everyone is super friendly and they go above and beyond. The culture is amazing and it starts with Leo (The GM). Leo is awesome and has created an atmosphere of training and fun all in one. I am not a paid endorser and everything you have ready is exactly how I feel. If you love golf then this is the place for you. Adam read more

What a great facility and group of professionals. I took up golf in my 50's and was a challenge to say the least to make progress. UGP is so much better than I could imagine. I am very committed and generally make it in 4 days a week. The team of coaches created a plan that holds me accountable for my progress; the constant support and coaching have improved my swing and game significantly. There is nothing better than getting a club in your hands 5-6 days a week, great coaching to ensure you are on track, a regular challenging workout, and a recovery system that allows me to work out on consecutive days. It is such a welcoming environment, positive coaching, and motivation, it makes it easy to come back the next day and work. I can tell the entire team expects me to improve, and is committed to make that happen. Since I joined in September, my game has improved significantly, it was a challenge for me to break 90 consistently, and in late December, I broke 80 for the first time. I am looking forward to what I can achieve in 2019. read more

In today's marketplace, golf instruction, methods, equipment, and philosophies are not only overwhelming, but confusing. At UGP, the philosophy is simple: Get you to play better golf, period. Knowing that there are multiple elements at play, such as fitness, mental approach, instruction, and, of course, equipment, enables them to create a program that is specific to the individual needs. I've never been to a place that completely understands the entire person. It is a fun environment that caters to what an athlete wants. I'm tempted to call it "Disneyland" for golfers! I would be remiss not to mention the instructors; simply the best in the business. From a holistic point of view, they are able to craft a program that truly enables people to reach their personal goals, without forgetting that it is something that should be enjoyable. Whether you are a young professional, looking for the next level, or a high-handicap weekend player aiming to improve your local game, I cannot give it a higher recommendation. read more

These guys are awesome! If you are looking to improve your game the right way by integrating fitness, recovery and instruction then look no further than UGP. Their team is ultra professional. They greet you in the parking lot and walk you into the facility and from there you get personal attention throughout your visit. You can workout with a trainer, improve your swing with a golf instructor, and rest and recover with a PT each and every time you go there. Or, you can just do your own thing and have the freedom to tinker at your own pace. It's your choice. I don't know of another fitness/golf experience like this. This staff flat out knows what they are doing. They have streamlined the process for improving your game and they are extremely friendly and helpful. This place is special - bottom line! From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with world class service. The trainers, coaches, PT's/Chiropractor's, and staff are all incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. The facility is top notch and every session leaves you knowing that you are improving (whether that's golf wise, fitness wise, or just health wise). All ages and ability levels can benefit from what UGP offers and it's a place that the members love coming to. UGP will help make you a better golfer and you'll look and feel great too. I'm so grateful that UGP has come to OC! read more

Having played for 25 years and had my experiences with golf lessons, golf schools, videos, training aids, personal trainers etc I have to say this is the only way for you to get your game to where you want to be and improve your overall flexibility as well. Don't expect to see a workout facility that resembles a LA Fitness gym. You wont be banging endless golf balls like you do at a driving range. In fact the hitting bays have just one ball on the mat. The teaching method is not about how to take the club back, stiff lead wrist at contact, where you back elbow should be on the downswing. Well worth a visit and evaluation. Ted C. read more
