There's not many people like him that do what he specializes in these days, and if there is, they are not easy to find. Located in the middle of a business park is his store and the front of his storefront is full of putter grips and clubs in progress for clients that dropped them off for various services. I got his contact from No Bogeys when I was looking for someone that does wedge stamping as a gift for a good friend for his 30th and Christmas. He was very quick to respond to my suggestions and tell me what's possible and what wasn't and provide a quote for his services. For what I wanted to get done it seemed most cost effective to do laser engraving versus stamping per letter ($10/First Letter, $7/Each Additional Letter, Up to 15 Letters, or $30/Laser Engraving Spot). Gave him a picture of what I wanted along with an SVG file of Doodlebob and about 2 weeks later, I got a call from him that it was ready for pickup. The lines are crisp and I appreciated all the extra work he did to get the vision of what I wanted on the club. Dean Ota of quality golf is a magician. Somehow took my very worn (bought it from a person who was trading it in at a store) , dented up laguna pro platinum and basically made it brand new. He charges about 100 bucks to restore a scotty (slight more for one's that need to be sent for coating) Outside of paying an exorbitant amount of money to send it back to the factory, Dean is really the only game in town. Took 2 months but was worth the wait. Fyi, the putter head will lose some weight as part of the refinishing process, which I think will actually benefit most golfers due to these club's weight bias from the factory. I brought in an older ping driver to be fitted with a new shaft. Not cheap. It was a new project x hazrdus pvd blue shaft which cost $225. After a month I picked up the driver which he'd painted with gloss and I didn't want and there was a rattle in the driver. I brought it back so he could remove the rattle and he had the nerve to make me pay an extra $30 to heat up his equipment to do so. Brought the driver home and it still rattled! I've had my original Taylormade Spider Monza putter for over 12 years and have yet to find another putter that rolls and feels as pure. However, when the Odyssey Stroke Lab Model #10 was introduced, I immediately gravitated to the thick, clean, white alignment line on top. I tried the putter out and the weight and balance wasn't as good as my Spider. Worse yet was the feel of putts coming off the white Odyssey insert. I kept saying to myself, "If only the Odyssey came with the Taylormade insert..." Then the inspiration hit me to see if I could get my existing putter re-finished to create that similar top line alignment aid. I saw lots of places that offered the service but came across Quality Golf on Yelp and the great reviews. I also saw a photo where another customer had done something similar with their putter. I called in and Dean, the owner, picked up and sounded extremely knowledgeable. I stopped by his shop, explained to him what I was hoping to do, and he quoted me a reasonable price and told me it would take about 2 weeks. For a golfer who plays weekly, that felt like eternity, but in just under 2 weeks, the job was done and it was absolutely worth the wait! I love the black matte finish and the top line came out great. I now have the look and alignment ease of the Odyssey and the great feel of the Taylormade...my putter looks brand new...and at a fraction of the cost of buying a new club. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Quality Golf and will likely do more with them in the future! read more

I bought a set of old Mizuno MP32 in decent condition from Roger Dunn. Being the anal person that I am I brought them to Quality Golf to get them refinished and changed the shaft to KBS. John helped me and took the heads off, rechromed them and re-shafted with KBS shafts including a custom blue ferrule and blue grips. John took care of it for me and now they look like a brand new set. Recently I skyed my 3 wood and got scratches on the top of the head. Took them in to be refinished and and now they look brand new. I have been going to them since they were at the Slater Avenue location and am glad they are still around because they do the best work and close within driving distance in OC. I recommend them to all my golfer friend and sometimes customers at Roger Dunn when they ask for someone to refinish or repair clubs. read more
