We love Bushido Martial Arts Supplies! My son recently started a new karate class, and we needed to find all of the appropriate gear quickly. We found everything we needed right here. His karate uniform, sparring gear, and even his new bag came from Bushido. This is a really nice family-run store. When you first walk into the store, you instantly see all the cool knives and self-defense items in glass cases. The clothing, sparring gear, and books/video section are well organized in this great little store. The selection is also truly amazing here! Being new to karate in general, I knew I needed some help in finding the correct gear. Everyone was so friendly and helpful here. Since my son couldn't go with me on this visit to the store, I was so glad I could exchange items that didn't fit. The following day, I was able to bring in my son before his class started. A very patient and knowledgeable salesperson fit him with the correctly sized helmet so he would be prepared to start sparring in his class later that day. I was all also able to buy myself a pair of boxing gloves that work well in my new kickboxing and Krav Maga classes. The gloves are of a much nicer quality and are a lot more comfortable than the ones I previously owned. The excellent quality of merchandise and the wonderful staff will keep us buying all of our martial arts gear here for many years to come! read more

Excellent service, quality, INVENTORY ON HAND. But hard to find the first time so it's the last building on the LEFT hand side of the cup-de-sac turn left into the drive and go all the way to the back. Ivan assisted me - I have a disability and he was extremely accommodating and patient, showing me multiples of options for bo and bokken and the plus/minus of each. The prices are very reasonable and the quality is excellent. I will definitely be back. read more

Bushido - Bushido apparel - Sporting Goods Near Me - Santa Ana, California

Ivan is a gentleman and a saint. He took his time explaining everything about the item.

Excellent customer service! Our Sensei recommended we come here because they know what to provide his students. We've come here because they have great customer service. My daughter's favorite color is pink. I never imagined we'd get a pink helmet and a pink karate bag. But they had it and so we did. They're great at having the students try on the gear to ensure a good fit. Because we procrastinated we purchased some supplies right before our karate practice. We thought we had everything but it turned out we had forgotten the belt. A very kind gentleman came all the way to our dojo to deliver the karate belt. It was stunning service! Thanks again Bushido! read more

Ivan was super helpful! I bought mat shoes and hand wraps. He took the time to teach me the best wrapping technique, and then gave me a link so that I could watch it again. I'll definitely be returning to buy more gear here. read more

This is the first time we went to this Bushido location in Santa Ana to buy martial art equipment for our Shorinji Kempo branch. Met their representative named Josh, who was very genuine and helpful. It's rare to find people like him in the world today. While we could have bought these items on-line at their website, there is clear intrinsic value meeting with Josh to face to face where he clearly explained each item we wanted to buy across their large inventory of products. Was equally surprised to hear that they design several of their brands. The quality and cost of the products is excellent! Josh's follow up via email for out-of-stock items within 24 hrs set a precedence for all businesses to follow. Keep up the Great work! Orange County Shorinji Kempo read more

This place has everything you could ever need. I was more than surprised at the stock they had. The guy at the desk was extremely helpful and helped me find the perfect Bokken. I live out of state and was looking forward to purchasing some items at the store on Saturday, March 21 (today). The phone message stated the Saturday hours were 10am - 4pm. I arrived at 2:30pm to find the store closed with a sign in the window stating Saturday hours until 2pm. I am very disappointed. I went out of my way to shop here only to find they are not thorough regarding something as basic as store hours. I even called the store phone number only to get voice mail. I was one of three customers there and all of us were frustrated. read more

The service here is outstanding. The two gentlemen working at the store on a Saturday went out of their way to help me find what I needed . They have a lot in stock and all the merchandise seems to be well organized. I was trying to get some holiday shopping done with my two toddlers in tow. Thankfully, they had a really friendly dog behind the counter that entertained them while I waited to pay. Great local business that definitely is worth supporting! read more

Wow, what a great place for martial arts gear! I have looked all over Orange County for a solid place, and finally found Bushido. I guess they have been around for over 20 years. I wish I knew that before! They have just about every style of martial arts at a pretty fair price. The products are very high quality. I will definitely go back after my brown belt test! Highly, highly recommended!!! read more

Last week, I was in need of a Kung Fu uniform and was concerned that I might not find one. I found this place online during my google search and it was a hidden gem. I called the establishment and they were super helpful and told me to come in. My only concern was that there is no sign or notification to help you distinguish them from any other building in that location. Apparently they are not allowed to post anything outside. So if you are a person that needs land marks I suggest you park and walk over to the general area. Outside of that, this place is awesome. A gentlemen came and greeted me along with his friendly four legged friend. He remembered my call early that day. He helped me find the uniform and suggested I try it on. There changing room was clean. Actually the entire store was clean, well stocked and had everything and anything you might need for martial arts. The gentle man was very personable and offered services for anything else I might need. The place was so awesome that I gave all my classmates and other students their information. I will definitely be back when I need new supplies. read more

This place was great. I bit to small of a show room; however, the prices and service are worth navigating the awkward numbering on the building and location. This place is worth checking out if one already has an idea of what supplies he/she wants. The show room is limited so there isn't really much to look at if one just wants to browse around. read more

I love this place! I have been shopping here since 2000. I love the weapons, videos, and the people who work here. This is a great store and they are very accommodating. I ordered a gi online and the return was very easy. I bought my spear staff here as well as all of my sparring gear. I love that they have an online account as well so that I can order from home. read more

The way how this website is design is just horrible. I always have a problem with my order when it comes shopping at busido such as; they can never charge my card, they would usually screw up on mt order, and I can never make a purchase online. This website is not on date whatsoever. My sensei and I would always try calling them but they would never put the items that they have in stock up on their website until the next couple of weeks... I just had a previous order where they messed it up and overcharged me. They even messed up my order for a 8.5oz gi too! read more

I was in Bushido in line behind the last reviewer and I strongly disagree with her experience. Rather than pulling her son aside to assist him in trying on the gear, she insisted that the only employee working put on her son's gear. Despite what the customer stated, the employeee wasn't rushing her, but was being considerate of others who were waiting in line. This customer was being rude to the employee, who still maintained his composure. We were able to buy our gloves without issue. I would not put much faith in the last woman's negative review. read more

Wow. Chad, the owner, was our first contact and he is as good as it gets. My 7 year old son and I walked in on a Saturday and although half a dozen regulars were in there, he instantly made us feel at home. He was friendly and professional, helping us when we needed it but letting us browse even though it was a half hour to closing time. My son was in a wonderland, mesmerized by the bo staffs, the knives, all the cool and amazing stuff in the cases. This was right before Christmas and it was good to get an idea of what he liked. This store is very forward thinking. Our dojo in Laguna, USSD, hooked us up with a card so our purchases are all on the account here and that's really smart. We would shop here anyway for the convenience and selection (which is amazing) but what really makes this place special is the knowledgeable staff. They knew what size bo staff for my child. He spent time discussing the various types there were and explaining why he might want to consider one over another. On another visit, my husband bought all his sparring gear and a cool bag with a dragon on it to put it all in and he had the same great experience. I have no doubt that we'll be back again and again to purchase from this store, either online or in person but especially in person because it's always so fun to go in and browse. This location is freeway close and around the corner from Pretend City so easy to find. Fast, experienced service in a clean, well organized store make this a real find. We can't imagine, having discovered this martial arts gem, going anywhere else. Highly recommended. read more

I am really sad to have to write this review. As a now former faithful customer I have to state a number of things that I am truly disappointed with concerning Bushido. I used to be a frequent and happy customer and even recommended a long list of martial arts, schools, and fellow stunt people to this store. The staff was friendly (specially Jake and Matt I believe their names are) and always had a great time with all of the inventory to choose from. My last two visits I was met with the most disgusting form of discrimination I had ever faced in a while. The store "manager" is this older lady that for my last two visits had someone follow me around the store and literally stand over my shoulder while I shopped around. She always made both me and my guest that I brought feel very uncomfortable and would only focus on me. Even with other people in the store she would always watch me and have someone else watch me. Being a business owner and working professional I found this behavior very disheartening and unnecessary. Especially since everyone else in the store seemed to be cool with me and actually know me from the many, many times I frequent the store and the literal thousands of dollars I've spent there. I truly hurts me to write this review because I loved this place and always recommended it but now I will be changing my view and attendance to this business. The corporate office should really look into hiring someone more suited for the job. read more

I bought a Bushido Judo Gi size 5, I took it home and washed it in cold water, threw it in the dryer to shrink it as I'm always in a rush and want to make sure my Gi is always ready to go to the dojo. I'm 5'10" 160lbs and it was still a tad big after drying it. Now, knowing how much it actually did shrink, I would have gotten a size 4 instead. Place is set up very nice. Managers are very polite. Hope this helps someone pick out their Gi size correctly. read more

Went into Bushido today to exchange a Kenpo belt and was pleasantly surprised at the service I received from Chad Schaeffer. Not only was he extremely accomodating, but very knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. He even made me aware of the host of services that Bushido offers outside of the martial arts arena. His patience and attention to the smallest of details is the reason why I will continue to give Bushido my business and tell everyone I know to become patrons as well. I received a tour of the facility and their silk screening process. Just over the top across the board. Very awesome experience!!! read more
