Definitely try it. They film your swing from two angles. Often you think you are doing one thing, and discover on video you are doing something else! The private practice component is great too. You get a private room and can control the video yourself. Slow motion, freeze it, and much more. It's great. Only shortcoming is no sand trap practice or uneven lie practice. Not a real fan, came in for a fitting and wanted to see which clubs would be the best for me. They were pointing me to one manufacturer without trying any of the other ones, hmmmm?? Then they went on to telling me the back spin is too high and need to get fitted into a certain shaft, here we are again, they want me to arrange for lessons with them to reduce the back spin. I'm a once a month player with young kids, I don't have the time to get multiple lessons to get the back spin to where they want it. Just my two cents. read more

I'm actually surprised to be writing this 5-star review. I had a swing evaluation yesterday and was expecting to be underwhelmed by the analysis and Golftec's ability to quickly start improving my swing. I'm not sure why my expectations were low, but they were. But I was very wrong. I loved my eval with Logan Zoritec. He did a great job of quickly showing me my two biggest flaws (hands too high at the top of my backswing and -- consequently -- an over-the-top swing) and we immediately started working on some drills to improve my swing. I was impressed enough to sign up for 5 lessons on the spot with Logan. Aside from the rigorous video analysis and focused drills, I like how I can rewatch video snippets of Logan's video analysis to remember and reinforce his observations and recommendations after the lesson. Last comment: I'm a drills guy. I want someone to help me focus on one flaw at a time... provide teaching points and drills to help me fix the flaw... and then show me before/after videos so I can see for myself that our work has reduced or eliminated the flaw. That's exactly what I think I got yesterday. At $87 per 30-minute lesson, they are more expensive than some, and less expensive than others. The price does vary somewhat based on volume. It's worth noting that when you buy a bundle it comes with a completion deadline. For example, I need to complete my 5 lessons within the next 3 months. Not a problem, and Logan assured me they are flexible if illness or injury forces a refund or extended completion deadline. I'll update this review after my first 5 lessons. PS: I'm sure all the coaches are good, but for the record, I was very happy with Logan's insights and teaching style. PPS: Find a friend who is already a Golftec customer and have them refer you. I started golfing 6 months ago and had gone through multiple golf instructors from the local golf course at Oak Creek to PGA Superstore and more without able to get concrete feedback and analysis from my lessons. After hearing about Golftec from a friend and reading some reviews, I decided to go in for a swing analysis with Ben Tibbs. I immediately saw the value and benefit of the technology they use showing you not only what you're doing right or wrong but also what the pros are doing right. I immediately signed up for a 6 month lesson plan with Ben. In less than 10 lessons with Ben (one of which was a putting lesson), I have gone from the plagued "out to in" swing path to a consistent and more confident "in to out" swing path; allowing me to finally draw the ball! The biggest benefit above hitting the ball better and farther is having a more effortless and easy on my body swing (and less frustrating). People spend a lot of money on golf equipment but if you really want to play this game long term, invest in a coach. To think even Tiger, Kobe, Jordan, and Serena had coaches at the peak of careers, we can definitely use a coach to accelerate us on the learning curve. I appreciate Golftec because unlike just taking lessons on a range, you have video feedback, and detailed analysis/breakdown of what's working and not working in YOUR own swing. Not to mention it's at a fraction of the price of range instructors. Ben has been an amazing instructor. He's very experienced, knowledgeable, and patient; three traits needed for a great coach. He's very methodical in his approach by teaching you sequentially different ways to feel each aspect (position) of your swing. Don't go in thinking you can "fix" your swing in one day or week because there are a total of 10 positions making up your swing. Ben expertly broke it down so well that I now have a real playable golf swing! He also helped me with my short game chipping and punch and runs. Long story short if you're tired of being terrible at golf but don't want to quit, invest in yourself at Golftec! This Golftec location is pretty conveniently located off the 405 highway, next to the airport, and one of the best cookie and coffee places called Paderia. I'm a recovering 4 way bypass golfer in his 70's who's learning to play again after 6 years. Logan is my coach and I can't tell you how much he has helped me. I can't say enough good things about Golftec and Ben Tibbs, my coach. I struggled with golfing for years, constantly topping the ball, shooting all over the place and generally unwilling to go out for a round for fear of completely embarrassing myself. I've been working with Ben since February of this year and have seen a massive improvement in my game. I'm still no scratch golfer, but I feel confident going out on a course and managing my way through. The technology at Golftec helps so much. Taking videos of your swing and slowing it down so you can ACTUALLY see what is happening as you swing the club is incredibly helpful. I've never had lessons that made a difference until now. I had the pleasure of working with Ben Tibbs for 10 sessions. Actually my son Corey and I worked with Ben separately. WOW! After one session my game significantly improved with my drive. They weren't going to the left as much. A few shots did due to old habits. My son, newer to the game, was instantly doing better as well on his driving. We go to the play a 9 hole par 3 and had some really good shots and a few not-so-great shots. Ben helped us get back on track. After each session we get a session recap and get to view our work and progress. We both REALLY liked receiving these after our appts. VERY helpful. This review is long overdue. I LOVE Golftec - Irvine, and I have been taking lessons and practicing there for about three years. The center is extremely well-managed with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. They are all clearly passionate about golf and customer service. You can practically smell the winning culture that has been cultivated by Justin Beasley, the center's manager and my coach. In addition to being a great leader, Justin is also one of the best golf teachers I have ever had, which is no small feat. Took golf lessons here for one year, 2017-2018. My instructor was Michael Finney, who has since relocated to a different Golftec in Houston I believe. A few things: 1. Michael was very knowledgeable, communicated well, and helped me tremendously with my game. I was a beginner who could not break 100 to save my life, and within 4-6 months he was helping me to enjoy the course more and shoot lower scores. 2. This place is pricey. Its not going to be the $75-$100 an hour you might get at the local driving range or club, so be prepared. Its a commitment, so if you do it, understand you might be spending $1,000-$2,00 depending on the "package". It depends how serious you want to get, and what you are willing to spend to improve your game. Taking one star off for: Coached "to the clock" a little too tightly, including a few instances where I lost a few minutes. What I mean by this is, on a handful of occasions (not many), he came in at 6;04, 6:05, whatever after finishing up with prior appointment but still ended our session right on the 6:30 mark. I was getting half hour lessons. Given the price paid, I should have gotten every minutes worth. -Josh read more

I signed up for a ten lesson packet during a semi break of Covid lock down. I became ill and could not do anything physical for months, so could not take lessons. I tried making an appointment yesterday and was told my six month time limit had run out. So I paid $1500 for 4 lessons! By the way, this would be $150/30 minute lessons! Am I pissed? You bet! Read the fine line in your contract and you better NOT GET SICK! I will not recommend buying a package! read more

My girlfriend and I are new to gold. We started working with Joey at GolfTec last month and WOW the results are unreal!! I didnt realize how technical the golf swing was. Joey has been first-class, great attitude, and is extremely patient. Prior to signing up I was concerned that the coaching would be out of sequence, too fast, or impatient with me. Not one bit! Joey ensures that Im comfortable with one new technique before we move onto the next. I go in twice a week for 30 minutes each session then go home and practice. I have been working with Nick that past couple of weeks and the guy is a magician. I have made more progress in three weeks than I have in about 5 years. Nick is a straight shooter and is able to simplify the golf swing so that you don't have too many things running through your head. He also has a great understanding of equipment and what types of clubs certain players should be using to optimize performance. Lastly, Nick is the kind of instructor that is willing to go over the 30 minute time allotted for lessons. He seems like he genuinely cares about his students. The facilities are top notch and is not an intimidating atmosphere. It is great to have instant feedback from the simulators during your practice sessions. I would recommend Golftec to anyone but I think it really benefits higher handicap players that are relatively new to the game. read more

I joined Golftec almost three years ago with the intent to hit the ball better, hence enjoy my time on the course instead of having days I wanted to forget. I started in Brea and when I moved to the Coast transferred to Irvine. All of the coaches are great but the one who has really help me understand the swing is Justin Beasley in Irvine. I am 59 and had 4 elbow (tendon) surgeries caused by an over the top swing which took me out of the game for extended periods. Justin has been persistent about a few tenets of the swing that I have stubbornly minimized and resisted until the last six months. I have now adopted several of these and am hitting the ball with surprising consistency and effortless power that I never realized in my swing before. Last weekend at my lesson he put a simple diagram on the whiteboard of my hips and shoulders (relative rotation and tilt) and it stuck in my mind. I went to the range that night and had an entirely different feel over the ball and the results were amazing. Also, I am playing without my elbow brace that I have worn since my last surgery ten years ago! This is more like 4.5 stars! Took lessons her a couple years ago (sorry for the delayed review) and took lessons from Cody! Went from a 13-15 handicap to high single digits. The biggest thing was the consistency of the set up and swing that I appreciated in the long run. I have a mental checklist now of which positions I need to be in at address, in my backswing, in my release etc. Golftec was the start to my huge improvement (took previous lessons at Oak Creek .. meh). Only reason I am giving it 4 starts (again, more like 4.5) is that I think the fitting could have been better. The clubs worked great and I loved the callaways I got but thought they could have looked at more shafts and more models. Recently got fitted somewhere else and they went through the whole gauntlet with more options... but not taking away from Golftec but they did great with what they have! Recommended! read more

Just had a driver fitting session with Nick. It was an eye opening experience. Averaged 170 yds with my current driver. Nick did his fitting magic and put a driver in my hand that averaged 220 yds. I'm still a beginner and have a lot of work to do on my swing but a 50yd instant increase from a club swap is amazing. Hoping for a fatty end of year bonus so I could get some lessons. Took a lesson with Cody. Was having trouble with my game hitting shots all over the place, scoring in the high 80s low 90s. Cody worked with to help me find the correct positions in my swing making a few adjustments. I took the lesson on Sunday and played 18holes the next week and scored a 78!!!! I haven't broken 80 in over 5 years so I was really impressed that the minor adjustments Cody made for me helped tremendously. So far, I've taken just 2 lessons from Cody Botella in Irvine (by the airport) - and it's already making such a great impact on my game. Also practicing with the computers that show you making your swings from a front and side angle is amazing. You can hit thousands of balls at the range and never know what your "form" look like or you're actually doing. AND you'll end up practicing the wrong stuff over and over again. Great place to learn. Feel is not real in golf and seeing myself on screen makes a huge difference. After seeing self on screen, i can connect my swing thoughts to what i'm doing. Feel becomes real. This works great for my learning style. Plus, they have great instructors here. Don't buy practice. They now have 4 instructor per store and most of the time, it is impossible to find practice times. I do have a serious complaint though. You can't book lessons anymore on an iphone or ipad because they made their site java dependent. I contacted them about it, but they basically told me to pound salt. I used to take lessons here weekly before this change. I now take one every few months because the instructor I like is always booked up and I just can't plan far in advance. If this may be an issue for you, don't buy any of their packages. Otherwise, I would highly recommend Golftec to you, because the instructors are booked up, because they are that good. read more

The GolfTec store in Irvine, CA has been excellent. I have had two lessons at this location and both have been great. The golf professionals move at your own pace and are truly helpful, never making you feel uncomfortable for any reason. Not only is the GolfTec technology extremely helpful for allowing me to see were my weaknesses are in my swing, the golf professionals are just as helpful in the process of breaking my old bad habits. Not only did they show me exactly where my faults in my swing were, the instructors also provided me with exercises that I can use on my own to correct them. They do not try to upsell their products whatsoever. The employees are incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I felt incredibly comfortable in the lab and working with the professionals, they were truly focused on helping me improve my golf skills rather than try to sell me on their products. GolfTec has really helped improve my long, medium, and short distance game and I will be sure to return my next visit to Irvine. read more

I love working with my coach, Brent Wolf, who is helping me to get back in form after a long coaching absence.
