I've been taking lessons here, and honestly, it's been incredibly helpful! The TrackMan simulators are awesome because they catch all the data you need to really understand and fix your game. But the best part is my instructor, Danny Yoon. He is so professional and amazing at guiding you through the changes. He has a ton of great tips up his sleeve. In just two lessons, my swing direction and distance have already improved a lot! I feel super confident recommending him to any of my friends who want to get better at golf. The facility itself is also really nice, clean, and modern, and the whole staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for great golf coaching, I highly recommend checking this place out! read more

I liked it, though it's true that I wish they have a slightly bigger space. The simulation games were fun and the price was pretty cheap for 3. And the instant ramen they serve was bomb lol. read more

Came here for a friend's birthday and had a decent experience. The space is smaller than expected and they have about 3 "big bays" (2 of which were occupied by us) and a few smaller bays, so people were waiting for spaces to open up. They have a variety of fun games to try out and so many different courses you could play. The iPad was a little finicky and wasn't always working correctly. Additionally, sometimes the avatars would get "stuck" facing a certain way and we would have to restart the game. It also felt like the sensor wouldn't always catch our hits despite there being no obstruction. It seems the spot still has some kinks to work out but overall can be a fun experience. Additionally a warning that it is SUPER hot in this space. I don't know if it was because it was during an August heatwave but there was no AC. There were a ton of fans but it wasn't sufficient for the amount of people moving around in the space. The staff is very helpful though and constantly check up on you which I appreciate. read more

A great indoor golf facility all around. The environment is clean and comfortable, the equipment is top-notch, and there's plenty of space to practice without feeling crowded. The service is friendly and attentive, and they offer a wide selection of drinks as well. My kids actually enjoy practicing here, so we've been coming about twice a week--it's become part of our routine. read more

Nico was a rockstar. My son just waltzed in there curious about the well done interior of the place and the huge screens for their golf simulators, and Nico took it upon himself to give my 4 year old boy a memorable experience using one of their booths. First time here and we had a great time! My husband golfs so he got the swing of things right away. Myself I don't golf but still had fun, after several swings I got the hang of it. We had beer and wine and played for almost 2 hours. We brought our own clubs but you can rent them too. We had a great time awesome staff they were attentive and explained how to use the game. Super nice spot to hang out while I waited for my car to get serviced. I stopped by the café for a drink and the lady working there was very pleasant and gave great service. I ordered the Strawberry Fields drink, which was refreshing, and enjoyed the comfy seating, air conditioning, and clean restroom. I'm not a golfer myself, but I passed the info along to friends who might want to practice here. read more

I recently started golfing and found it tough at outdoor ranges to tell how straight my shots were going or how high they were flying. Onyx has been a game-changer for me. It's perfect whether you're brand new to golf, a seasoned player, or just looking for a fun spot to hang out with friends. We originally tried it because it's only a few miles from our house, and now we love it so much that we've been going three times a week. The space has a really cool vibe, and the staff are great the manager especially is always so nice and helpful and she makes that place flow seamlessly. You can tell sees been in customer service industry or a manager before. The simulators use an app called TrackMan, which gives you detailed shot analysis and keeps track of your distances and clubs. It makes practicing feel way more productive than a traditional range. At $40 an hour, I think it's totally worth it. The only suggestion I'd make is that it would be great if all staff were as well-versed in TrackMan as the manager. Sometimes the system glitches and the staff on hand aren't sure how to fix it, which cuts into our sessions because we spend extra time trying to get set up. When the manager is around, though, she knows exactly how to troubleshoot it and gets everything running quickly so we can make the most of our time. It can get busy on weekends, but they take reservations, so that helps. Overall, I'd highly recommend Onyx for anyone looking to practice their game, improve faster, or just enjoy a unique golf experience indoors. read more

I have so many great things to say about Onyx. First off the staff are SUPER friendly and very professional. I went there for a birthday party in the VIP room and we were given an hour before the event to setup which was plenty of time because the room is already set up beautifully. We paid to bring food from another place to the party ($25) which is super reasonable, and the only reason we did that was because we wanted a family style dinner but the food at Onyx is more snacks and bar food. The only thing that was a minor setback was the echo on the karaoke machine was so high that no one wanted to sing using it haha! read more

Onyx Golf - My son first time golfing! He is hooked to this game!! "he likes the mulligan button" - Golf Lessons Near Me - Lake Forest, California

1 year later this place is still earning all five stars if not an extra one for the white glove club washing that Johnathan provided before we entered one of the VIP bays. I have a UCI intern working with my company and we went to give him some reps to develop his swing and get ready for some on course business opportunities. The weather outside was in the 90's this week and we were originally going to play a full round at Strawberry Farms yet I had a meeting pop up limiting my time plus I really wasn't looking forward to sweating it out as I played with a very green rookie. Onyx was the perfect option. We took a VIP bay for 1.5 hours, stayed cool, developed a good set up and swing for him and then played 9 holes at Pebble Beach. Sam was great on the phone and Johnathan and the rest of the staff were on it! Grateful to have this in OC! read more

I came here with a group of friends for the first time and it was surprisingly fun. It was my first time trying out a golf simulator, so I had no idea what to expect. Service was very helpful and friendly. They even wash your clubs as you walk in (to ensure that their practice balls don't get dirty). Each party gets their own booth. They also have party rooms to rent in the back. You can order food and drinks from the booth which was perfect after we've been working up a sweat. I ordered their matcha cream top latte from the coffee bar and it was surprisingly really good. There were a lot of course options to choose from on the simulator and they also had some fun game options. Overall, it's a cool place to socialize with your golf friends, drink some beer, and play some virtual golf. read more

We've been looking for a screen golf place and now there's one in lake Forest -- so close to Irvine. It's brand new so all of the equipment is fantastic. The prices are very reasonable -- particularly if you compare with a round of golf for four people. The staff is super friendly and helpful. And the golf simulator is top notch. You can download the app to keep a record of your shots. read more

The cleanest, most state-of-the-art highest tech indoor golf establishment in SoCal. I used to be one of those people who thought indoor golf was only for rainy days, but actually I'm realizing indoor golf should go hand-in-hand and parallel with outdoor golf to consistently improve and maintain your game. Since becoming a member here over a year ago, I have become more committed to the game of golf and it's been showing in my score. So thankful for Onyx! read more

WOW!!!! What an incredible experience I had today! First time at Onyx Golf, and I wasn't disappointed!!! You first walk in, and you're immediately greeted with a smile, I certainly felt welcomed. I was given a tour of this spacious and friendly establishment. I needed a lesson to check my posture and such, since it has been a while since I golfed. My golf coach, Jeong, was incredible. She was kind and so patient with me. She is very knowledgeable and beyond qualified in teaching EVERYTHING about golf. I highly recommend her and Onyx Golf for all your golf fixations. They even have a coffee bar with snacks for purchase, and a small pro shop in case you forgot anything. And each bay is clean and well maintained. Of course, there's a soundproof pod for anyone that needs to make a private phone call, this place can be a little noisy. This place is pricey, but, after all, golf is an expensive sport. Highly recommended for ALL ages and levels. What are you waiting for???? If you love golf and want to improve your game in a professional environment, GO to Onyx Golf!! I LOVED it!!! 5 STARS!!! read more

Held a private party at Onyx. Everything was so amazing, they accommodated every request I had and the customer service we received was so friendly and professional. Nice spot, kind staff. My son played for an hour and had a fun time. It wasn't too crowded.

Yikes! Stay away from this place. Over priced and clearly materials used to create this place was recycled...

Have gone here twice. Both times were in private bays. Facility is nice, and clean. Staff are awesome! Really good vibes here in general. Feels chill at the open bay area, cool hang out place with a cafe. (Which I didn't try) Really good tech, no lag. We actually got a free upgrade from private bay to their big event room which was awesome! Well ventilated in the private bay. Would come more often but it's a bit of a trip for me. read more

State of the art facility! Nice and helpful staff. Runs a little warm inside, but overall a fantastic experience and location.

Needed a little bit of golf and was finding it hard especially since it was raining here. Stumbled across Onyx and must say that I was very pleased. Staff are friendly and they even make sure your clubs are clean before getting you into a bay. The track mans were on point and the food here looks incredible. Must say, I'll be back to play some more golf. Everyone just looked like they were having a good time. Thanks Onyx read more

I have been trying to improve my golf skills with different instructors. Finally found a perfect coach: Darien Zhao. Darien provides customize coaching for your specific needs. For my personal experience, he let me know how to rotate my body and the ways of impact the golf ball. I like his "cut to the chase" teaching philosophy. I believe Darien can help everyone who wants to improve his/her golf skill. BTW, their ice coffee is pretty good. read more

This is a first class training center in everyway. The bays are layed out PERFECT, trackman in the later and the screens are easy to navigate. The service level is off the chart, starting with: they clean your clubs, they provide you Titelist Pro1's to hit with. I've signed up for the monthly fee that allows me to use 1 hour a day Monday through Friday all day, all month. I picked this place for date night with my lady since she has never golfed but expressed interest in it. It's perfect, no pressure, can rent clubs for 20 dollars that fit. The tracker is on point and has every stat needed to improve your golf game. Staff was super friendly. I thought the price was high but for everything you get to improve your game, it seems worth it. The different scenarios you can play is awesome. One issue would be the limit on how long you can tee the ball. Definitely too high for any iron and some woods. I would return and am seriously thinking of getting a membership. read more

Great spot to practice or just have some fun with friends. Top quality everything. Place is always clean and organized.

My boyfriend and I love going to Onyx golf!! He gets to golf, and I get to eat, drink & watch. Love going to this place on date nights, with friends and even for training. I recently had a one on one session with their trainer Kevin! His lessons really resonated with me and it was refreshing to get an in depth, hands on lesson! I'll definitely be back for some more lessons! My husband found this place thanks to an Instagram ad. I had a great experience here from start to finish. First, I went inside, and my jaw dropped. This facility was awesome, and I loved the modern interior design! Super clean, cool environment. It is a fun, indoor entertainment spot for sure. They even had a legit high-end coffee shop with delicious coffee.   They have golf, a karaoke room, coffee, drinks, etc. I was very impressed with the service and instructions they gave me. There are instructors walking around to help you with anything you need. The best part about that is that there is no extra cost for instructions. They were there to just help you, and they were all very patient and accommodating. Simulators are all Trackman, and they are crystal clear. Hitting surfaces is top quality. I had to work on irons, and by the end of the 30 min session, I was able to strike my irons consistently. With Trackman Technology, it was easy to figure out what I was doing wrong. It will basically tell me how to do the proper address/ ball impact in golf. I have some bad habits in my swing, and it was easy for me to figure those out. Of course, the instructors there help me how to read the results from the Trackman. Hope this translates to a better game soon with constant practice. I say the price was really good compared to TopGolf. Plus, you can actually work on improving your golf game with all the metrics and cameras the system has. Can't wait to go to the facility again! I imagine that this company picks up business very soon (which will probably happen because the experience was so fun, and playing in an AC room is nice). I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs to analyze their swings. I look forward to returning. Will be back soon. read more
