Before going to Max I was really confused about setup and the golf swing and was not improving. Golf Code 360 was recommended to me by a friend who knew someone that had gone there. I went in for the free introductory swing evaluation and was impressed. Max gave me suggestions that immediately improved my ball contact and a setup that made sense and I could repeat. I signed up for my first set of lessons immediately. I was a little hesitant about taking lessons at an indoor facility, however, having the ability to review swings from two angles proved incredibly helpful to improving. Also, I had my doubts about a "biomechanics method" coming from a "feel" type of training but the biomechanics make sense and works. If you get your body in the right position the golf swing is a lot easier. The best compliment I can give came from one of my playing partners. I had taken about three lessons between the last time we played and on about the second hole he says, "Wow you're hitting the ball much better and you look like a real golfer!" I started lessons at 360 golf with Max a few months ago and I was a bit skeptical of using biomechanics to teach golf. After about a month, I noticed a dramatic improvement in my club head speed, accuracy and distance when playing. On average I gained about an extra 15-20 yards per club. This gave me more confidence to play golf and play tougher courses. The tools you learn from Max and Jay at 360 golf make golf more enjoyable to play because you can hit shots you see on tour. Want more distance? Want to hit the ball straight? Want to learn how to work the ball? Want to putt better? In 9 lessons with Max, I learned how to do everything listed above. I have literally dropped 10 strokes after taking lessons with Max and I know I can do better than that. My drives are about 30 yards longer on average (270 vs. 240). I hit the ball straighter. I can work the ball when needed. My putting distance and putting aim have improved tremendously. In my last round, I shot a 78 and I didn't even hit the ball that well. A year ago, I didn't think it was possible to say those two things in the same breath. When I started taking lessons with Max, I thought I had lofty ambitions. I wanted to break 80. It turns out that Max helped me improve my game so much that my initial goals were too conservative. My new goal is to get under par, something that I think I can achieve in the next few months. Punchline if this review is TLDR - Golfcode 360 is a great place to get your swing right! Here is my long-winded review: I have been in and out of golf for the last 12 years. Took a long 5 year break because of injuries and life but started getting back into it because of friends. I've hacked away at golf for about 17 years and decided recently that I want to actually try to get better. Always thought about classes but never took the dive. Saw a groupon for this place so I gave it a shot. I knew I had incorrect form and bad habits from trying to youtube/take advice from friends over the years so I knew I needed to blow everything up and start from scratch. What's the point of practicing at the range if I didn't even know what was the correct technique? Watching myself on the monitor just confirmed how terrible I really was. After a thorough overview of his methods and getting a feel for how he teaches, I decided to go ahead with a packaged lesson plan. After the first lesson, my annoying hook instantly disappeared at the range. Jay teaches and provides great visual aid through videos. Also, everything is broken down so it's possible for me to debug my mistakes without help around. Looking forward to the rest of my classes and taking it on to the course. read more

I took a 12-15 year break from golf and decided to get back into it in November 2018. If you go to your average PGA golf instructor, he'll give you a quick fix-- so, if you're slicing, he'll suggest a strong grip and a change in your stance. Then, you go back to him after you start hooking everything. I wanted a more holistic approach upon my return to golf, and Jay provided that to me. More importantly, now, I can analyze and self-correct any problems. For example, when I hit my drive long and it lands in the middle of the fairway (now 80% of the time), my partners are congratulating me. However, I notice how the ball got there-- if it wasn't a straight trajectory or a gentle draw, I know what I did wrong and can correct it at the next tee. I did Jay's "Single Digit Handicap" package. With just 1-2 lessons left, I'm almost there. I'm confident I'll get there by this fall, if not earlier. Jay is a great instructor because he learns about you and how he can provide you with the personal instruction that'll get you to improve. Three caveats: 1. I enjoyed my lessons with Jay because of my professional background. He and I can talk a lot about the biomechanics of the golf swing, human anatomy, and fundamental mechanical physics. Maybe, getting into the nitty-gritty might be more interesting for me than others. 2. One needs to go into the lessons with a completely open mind, forgetting everything learned previously. For example, I was very receptive to his instructions on driving, iron shots, and putting. Those elements of the game have made the greatest improvements. With regard to getting up and down, I preferred to chip with anything from a 7i to a PW. Jay's "program" for the short game calls for something different. I've finally "seen the light" and now am starting to see gains when I'm under 100 yards from the hole! 3. It's a long process, and it takes willingness to practice on one's own time. For someone who really wants to improve his/her game, I don't think 1-5 lessons are sufficient. Also, while doing his lessons, there will have to be a break from actual playing until one becomes proficient in his swing technique. For example, it took me about 5 lessons to be decent with his swing technique for irons, which meant I couldn't hit the driver. So, if I did go out, I'd not keep score and just drove with my 3i. By the 10th week, we had moved onto the driver, and then I resumed keeping score. read more

I found out about Jay through my best friend who's been seeing him for a little more than a year now. Being such a rookie into the sport, I wanted to get the correct mechanics down early before I started to build bad habits. I've been a golfer for 35 years and am a +1 handicap. I am looking to get better and back to at least a +3 which is where I was ten years ago. It's a struggle to find an instructor that can help a scratch player to get even better, and to teach me something that I already don't know. I heard Jay was the guy to go to, so I went to him for a 30 min consultation and in that short amount of time he had me hitting my 9 iron dead straight and 156 yards long. Anyway, If I went there on my lesson date, I would meet with a strange guy. How could I know this? He texted me "Are you interested in golf lessons?" today. He misunderstood that I was a new customer. So I replied that I already made an appointment. And he said that it is Dylan's lesson. WHO? At that moment, I realized that he tossed his lesson to someone He should have noticed me that situation. But he did not. Why? If I went there for a lesson, I would realize that my teacher was a strange guy. But I could not help taking a lesson from that strange guy because I would drive a long way. I started taking lessons with Jay about a month ago to work on my driver. I have taken lessons with other golf instructors in the past at the local golf course, but always coming back to square one or with a new problem. Was given a package deal for my birthday and Dylan was my instructor. Dylan was a great coach and overall I improved immensely compared to when I first started. We worked on posture, grip, swing, and rotation, tailored to what I needed to work on. I've been an occasional golfer for a while. Have taken some lessons in the past to end up more confused because of the lack of information. I decided to take the plunge and give lessons one more try (tired of sucking at golf). My neighbor told me to look into this "Asian guy" at the golf course that gave lessons. So I bit the bullet. After one lesson I was making great contact. As long as I do what he says to do, I do great. But, as a stubborn hard headed guy I tend to over think everything when I step onto the golf course. I like to stay active so I like to find the best of the best. Jay and his instructors are definitely the best of the best when it comes to golf and biomechanics. I had problems with my driver and every time I come here, each drive increases by a few yards. There is a putting area as well. Anything from short game to your whole golf game, I believe this Academy is the place to go to. Stephanie Ellingwood is one of the instructors. I recommend her because of her style of teaching. She has a background in mechanical engineering, so I believe that's why everything she says has order and makes perfect sense. I am first time in my life to enter into Golf area on may 18th 2015 at 1.30pm and had Jay has an instructor for a 30min golf lesson deal got from Crowdsavings. Jay received me on time and had our introduction in a short way while he is taking me in a golf cart to show different areas or levels where others play. And then we went into a room to get golf clubs and basket of balls to a instruction area; there showed me Golf clubs such as woods, irons, putters and explained what they are for. And then gave instructions where to hold golf club and how to hit the ball, how to swing the golf club, body posture and everything. After hitting couples of balls with his instructions, he gave some more time to hit rest of the balls on my own. Jay is so cool and made my day. Jay has really helped me shore up my game. As a former baseball player, the mechanics of the golf swing seemed so easy, yet I could never muster the confidence in my repetition to be successful on the course. After only a few lessons with Jay, I have lowered my handicap by about 9 strokes. Jay is a sincere human being who genuinely cares about his clientele. A good value is identifying someone you can not only trust to take you to still higher levels of skill according to your abilities, but just as importantly, conduct business in a scrupulous, and customer-friendly manor. Jay Lim is that value. I hadn't played golf in over 30 years. I finally had the time and felt well enough, despite reoccurring back and shoulder issues, to pursue a sport I used to enjoy immensely. I spent 3 months in golf specific training and fundamentals before I even began searching for a coach. After due diligence, I found Jay Lim and Golf Code 360. He gave me a free eval/intro and at that time I explained that I was having some back and hip issues. He took all into consideration and I purchased a 5-lesson package. After the first lesson it was clear that Jay possessed the technical skill and plan discipline necessary to resurrect my game. Unfortunately after my 3rd lesson I sustained a back injury, no fault of Jay, that will prevent me from playing golf INDEFINITELY. It was just a matter of time say the doctors. After the MRI results, I called Jay and told him what happened and that I could not continue. I hoped that I could receive a refund of some amount. I realized that the 5 lesson package ($100/lesson) price was less than what 3 individual lessons ($125/lesson) would have cost. I conveyed as much to Jay and understood he has a business to run.
