I have been playing golf for over 25 years, I have taken numerous amount of lessons thru out the years, including going to a golf academy as far as SC Hilton Head in an effort to better my handicap and be consistent to enjoy the game. Jay is 100% the real deal. I've had many years of bad habits that always lead to frustrating and very inconsistent rounds. How do you correct what you don't know? There's no "just keep your head down" BS you hear at the range from the local instructors. Jay breaks down the swing to a science and provides the knowledge necessary to correct mistakes. My game has been off the rails the past 2 years. I tried 4 or 5 of the golf course pros at my club, all of who videoed me, but each had a different solution to my specific issues. Golf was a complete mystery until I met Jay Lim. Some days I would shoot 99, some days 90...sound familiar? I would never be able to truly figure out why. Same for the driving range. Some practices would be amazing, others would be full of slices, shanks and other fun...without any thought process as to the answer. I've been playing for 4 years. And after the first lesson with Jay, the game finally started to make sense. He finally made the process seem crystal clear. I had another local teacher a few years back, that did more harm than good it seemed like. Jay Lim embraces my desire to want to shoot par one day in the real near future, he embraced my love for hitting the ball long and straight and promised we would get there. And we have. His simple steps, and easy to practice drills take the guessing out of the game. If I hit a bad shot on the range or even out on the course, I used to get scrambled and the round would go down the range....NOT ANYMORE! Now I know how to properly diagnose my mistake, fix it for the next shot and get back on track. Instead of double bogeys...i can rebound to pars. I've begun recently to shoot low 80s consistently (from 90s in August) and have no doubt that I will be in single digit handicap shortly, and on that way to PAR very soon. Maybe my second review of Jay. I have worked with him now, off and on, for probably 4 years or more...Lesson here and there. I am 66 years old and have golfed since I was a kid...never too seriously and never too well. I have been to about 5-6 instructors over those years, none helped. I initially found Jay Lim and Golf Code 360 through Yelp and other online reviews. You will be hard pressed to find a SINGLE review below 5 stars. I could barely hit the ball when I initially met Jay in late June. Fast Forward 10 lessons later, I'm hitting my driver over 300 yards and my irons are consistently going straight. I still have room for improvement as anyone would but Jay and his style of teaching is something you won't find with other instructors...I know because I've tried them too. He has a simplified approach to showing a Bio-mechanically efficient swing which applies to any player. My dad and I have always loved golf and have tried so hard but struggled to just be average, so we decided to take golf lessons. I searched the web for "best golf lessons in Orange County. Immediately saw reviews for Jay Lim and also his website. We were so eager to learn that we scheduled as soon as possible. He started off by explaining he game and how it works, he then went into the stance and the physics and reasoning behind every detail of the game. He taught us the proper and most effective swing. He really does give you all the tools you need to be successful, it's then up to you to use repetition and determination to exceed your expectations. On our last lesson, Jay gave me the opportunity to drive the ball towards an open area. I lined up, took my back swing, and swung with maybe an 80% swing speed just to make sure I'm not losing any of the proper technique. I crushed the ball down to the hole 1 fairway! Just took my first Real Golf Lesson with Jay all I can say is im ecstatic and excited to work with him for the rest of my golfing days!...I been trying to play golf and break 100 for about a year now. I have took Lessons before with other "PGA" coaches and got absolutely nothing except a empty wallet...A little about myself in golf is I swing hard. I could hit driver once in a great while 300+ yards. But I have no consistency in direction and good ball striking contact. Before even hitting a ball Jay had in mind what was wrong. I've taken lessons from multiple instructors and they helped but after taking lessons from Jay, I can definitely see a difference in quality. The main thing that separates Jay from other instructors is his knowledge of anatomy and physiology. It's what got me interested in his method because of the biomechanics. I've struggled since taking up golf in 2012 and have been to a variety of instructors over time with lackluster results. In desperation, I even wasted a couple of years focusing on the single plane method. Nothing really worked or stuck for me. While I enjoyed golf, it was frustrating to average 110+ when my regular golf buddies shot in the 100s, 90s, then 80s as they improved. Luckily, I had flashes of awesome shots that kept me coming back, however, I never could establish any consistency. Enter Max, one of the golf instructors at Golfcode360. Worth it! Brenda was very knowledgeable and patient. She was able to quickly diagnose my swing and give feedback which was concise and effective. Apparently I have been holding the club so wrong that I was more likely to get tendinitis than that effortless looking swing that makes the ball travel like 250+ yards every time. When I swung as instructed, I really felt as though I was holding the club in a very unnatural position but it worked very effectively. Ball was going straight, pretty far, and pretty often...I almost felt like I was watching it happen but it was not me. My friend thought it was pretty awesome too.
