He is very detailed about understanding the basic and theories of swing so my swing can be repeatable. It is like breaking down the "physics" of golf by bits and having you to understand why each bit is important for a good swing. A little note form my lesson today: Gear 1: body Gear 2: arms Gear 3: hand and clubs - They should be lock, unlock, lock OR unlock, lock, unlock. NO 2 connecting locks or unlocks. Stage 1: gear 2 movement, gear 1 and 3 lock. Make sure the swing up is above the plane (or above "water level") then swing down plane. Armpit is connected to the body and not loose, loose of arm and body will cause gear to loosen up. Stage 2: arm swing with hip movement finish; or 3 quarter swing. Starts with stage 1, finish with hip rotation forward, left hip on top of ankle (weight forward). And slight head tilt.

As I continued with him, each lesson got more layered and confusing. I felt I was learning a tour level swing and it shouldn't be this complicated. At the end of the lessons, there was never any game plan. Just a "keep working on it", which didn't feel sincere, and he moved onto the next student. All the teachers there are in the $120-$150 range so it's not cheap. Spend your money wisely, and don't go for lessons every week. It also takes time and reps to get what you learned. I feel that was part of the problem, and was not stopped.

It can get quite busy during peak hours and especially in the summer. There is also an area to practice short pitch shots and a sand trap. A bucket of balls cost a bit more than the average range but the shot tracer is well worth it. The 18 hole course is a bit better than your typical muni course. Greens aren't in the best shape but they are decent for the cost of the round. There is also a proshop with all you need and more to play a round. I highly recommend Alhambra Golf course!

And there are two level. The course is in excellent shape. Greens are well maintained. This is a shorter course 9 holes par 29. Can finish the round in less than 90min. They also have a cafe I am looking forward to trying eventually. There is also a pro shop that is fully stocked with everything: Clubs, apparel, golf gear, and even a grip shop. During our first lesson he was able to break down each of my swings on video and explain what I needed to work on. He's was open-minded and flexible to how I needed to learn. On the first day we met, I told him my goal was to break 80 and wasn't looking for a complete overhaul of my swing. The one thing I noticed with Brian is that he's looking to work with you rather than having a single way of teaching things. We quickly determined I was more of a 'feel vs real' player rather than a technical player so he stopped showing my videos of down the line with hand positions and worked on what I should be feeling to get the proper ball flight. He's attentive, responsive, friendly and professional and most importantly, is invested in you getting better as a player. Less than a year later, I just shot a PR of 77! The golf course is nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The fairways and greens are in good condition and are well-maintained. Irrigation is good,too. We played during a rain shower and I played so well. No flooding. The undulating greens are super challenging for having short holes. The longest hole would have to be the 15th. The pond is on the right and the trail is above on your left, too. Sometimes I think someone is angry when they're selecting where to place the pins, especially on the third. Who hurt you? LOL Today, it was the third, fifth and the fourteenth. The greens definitely have a lot of character. The fairways are kept, too. The little creeks between the holes are awesome, and the pond between the fourteenth and fifteenth holes always have beautiful swans and ducks in or around them. If you're looking to squeeze in a game so you can relax and have some quiet time, Arroyo Seco is the course where you'll want to be.

He said they were the Ferrari of club fitters. "Master Fitter" had me hit my 7 iron and then had me hit different 6 irons. He ran the numbers on the "optimizer" and said I could only get 10 yards more from my 7 iron and that the club was doing its job. Stopped the iron fitting there and went to driver. Today, Jeff had me warm up, casually asking about my game, usual ball flight etc. He explained to me the potential causes of my misses. One of the reasons being, the club was too light. He gave me a lot of really priceless swing tips. We worked on with different shafts and heads... he explained the process and connected it to my swing. He put stickers on the face to show where I was hitting the ball. He always reviewed distance trends and took in to account the flight of my misses. Thankfully I was able to execute his tips and the average carry of my 7 iron was amazing. On course, my TOTAL distance would be 120. After Jeff's club and swing magic, my CARRY was 130. Total sometimes 140-150. So excited to get my new set of irons. My only regret is I didn't come here first. I'll be coming back here for woods and have him check with driver I got from. Club champion. I really wish I went here first. Iron fitting was $150 but the swing tips alone I feel was so much more. Will be telling everyone to come here. I called about a week ahead to schedule an iron fitting with Jeff. Heads up: his schedule fills up quick (for good reason), so definitely book early if you want a spot. As a beginner golfer, I was on the fence about getting fit. I had just bought a brand new set of irons without any kind of fitting and kept hearing mixed opinions--some people say fittings are a waste for beginners, others say it's the best time to get one. I figured it couldn't hurt to get everything checked and make sure my gear matched my swing. From the moment I walked in, Jeff was super friendly and welcoming. He brought me to the back fitting area and had me warm up with my current setup. Right away, he noticed what needed tweaking. I'd originally been told to use regular shafts as a beginner, but after watching me hit a few, Jeff recommended stiff shafts instead. I tried a few options and ended up going with the KBS Tour 120g stiff shafts--they gave me the most consistent ball flight and tightest dispersion. What I really appreciated was how Jeff didn't just run me through numbers--he also gave me tips on my swing, helped me understand what we were looking for, and just made the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. We joked around, had some good small talk, and the whole session flew by. We even had some time left over, so he threw in a quick golf ball fitting too. I tested a few and we landed on the TaylorMade TP5x and Srixon Z-Star Diamond. In the end, we made a few key changes: a slightly flatter lie angle, a small adjustment in club length, and the switch to a stiffer shaft. Nothing drastic, but enough to make a big difference in consistency and feel. The whole fitting lasted around 90 minutes and cost $150. Yeah, it's a little more than a big box store, but 100% worth it. You're getting high-level insight and guidance from someone who truly knows his craft.
