Due to the rainy weather, we were told to drive on the cart path which we understood, but at some holes it was difficult to see a clear pathway. Our time at the golf course was fine until Hole 11, where a Guardian Community tent was set up... The dude that was there introduced himself and asked if we were interested in donating, in which we kindly declined. Bad idea. He then goes on and on, persistently asking us why and even called one of us so serious. I've never experienced someone being so pushy for donations. As someone who doesn't play golf regularly, I would honestly skip Hole 11 completely, just to avoid another rude interaction with someone from Guardian Community. The whole situation just left a sour taste in my mouth. Like seriously, you're going to call us names for kindly declining a donation. What happened to respecting our time and being professional, dude was talking while people are trying to putt. Hmmm... I did like the range for the TopTracer, but now I am reconsidering coming back.

Every bay has an automatic ball dispenser, which makes practice super convenient, and the entire range is well-maintained and very clean. There are both 1st and 2nd floor hitting areas, and even from the second floor you can comfortably hit drivers with plenty of space. Another great part is the convenience--there are food and coffee options nearby, and there's even a 9-hole course on site if you want to get in a short round after practicing. Brian knows how to analyze your swing faults and demonstrate the right feels to get your body moving as it should. During our first lesson he was able to break down each of my swings on video and explain what I needed to work on. He's was open-minded and flexible to how I needed to learn. I've worked with other PGA teaching professionals and I haven't experienced immediate results as I've done with Brian. I'm really excited to see how my game will improve.

On the first day we met, I told him my goal was to break 80 and wasn't looking for a complete overhaul of my swing. The one thing I noticed with Brian is that he's looking to work with you rather than having a single way of teaching things. We quickly determined I was more of a 'feel vs real' player rather than a technical player so he stopped showing my videos of down the line with hand positions and worked on what I should be feeling to get the proper ball flight. He's attentive, responsive, friendly and professional and most importantly, is invested in you getting better as a player. Less than a year later, I just shot a PR of 77! I've been and avid recreational golfer on and off since my mid 20's (let's just I'm somewhere in my 40's ). We went through 4 different coaches before finding Keith. He's so great with kids! He's patient and l appreciate the way he talks to Ella. He has lots of different drills and ways of being able to explain to her what he wants her to execute. Of course it's taken some time but I'm finally seeing some forward progress. I just want her to love the game just as much as me. I highly recommend Keith, especially if you're looking to get your child started in the wonderful game of golf! This next part is for me. As mentioned above, I've been playing golf since my mid 20's. I'm self taught, learning from watching the golf channel, reading magazines and through youtube. At my best I was shooting 93-97 and was constantly frustrated with my game. My best scores were 83 and 85 when I was hitting the range on a more consistent basis. After I found Keith, he'd take the time to help me with my swing after he was done with my daughter's lesson. After working with Keith and really breaking down my swing, working on my bad habits (of which I have plenty) I started to piece it back together again. The golf course is nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The fairways and greens are in good condition and are well-maintained. Irrigation is good,too. We played during a rain shower and I played so well. No flooding. The undulating greens are super challenging for having short holes. The longest hole would have to be the 15th. The pond is on the right and the trail is above on your left, too. Sometimes I think someone is angry when they're selecting where to place the pins, especially on the third. Who hurt you? LOL Today, it was the third, fifth and the fourteenth. The greens definitely have a lot of character. The fairways are kept, too. The little creeks between the holes are awesome, and the pond between the fourteenth and fifteenth holes always have beautiful swans and ducks in or around them. If you're looking to squeeze in a game so you can relax and have some quiet time, Arroyo Seco is the course where you'll want to be.

Last week I had decided to pull the trigger and try getting an iron fitting after feeling like I've been getting a bit more consistent as a golfer, and I just gotta say, Jeff is an excellent fitter. The experience was casual and friendly, but still very professional and educational. He'd taken the time to analyze my metrics and let me know what aspects of my swing needed work and how the fitting would benefit me short and long term. There was no pressure to buy equipment from the store, and he even let me know the pros and cons of parting out what I would want. I'll definitely be coming back later for woods/driver fittings, and potentially even wedge fittings if possible.
