I really enjoyed the first lesson today with Sean!…read more I needed to find my way back to basics. I have some athletic background so coaches tend to teach me advanced theories I don't really understand. I think the way Sean breaks up the swing makes it easy without overthinking. He goes over P1 to P10 then breaks the body down into three gears. Gear 1: Body, Gear 2: Arms, Gear 3: Hands. These gears should work in harmony together. He introduces Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stage 1 is arms only. He had me think about 60/40 in my legs to prevent swaying while letting my arms fall using gravity. This helped me find the low point easier. Stage 2 then moves to hip rotation and the finishing position. The weight transfer felt more natural, something I've always struggled with. Even though I have a decent swing, I've always felt like my body has been fighting itself to move in sequence. I'm looking forward to the next stages!

Had my first trail lesson with Sean today. He was very different from what I was expecting; in a…read moregood way. He is very detailed about understanding the basic and theories of swing so my swing can be repeatable. It is like breaking down the "physics" of golf by bits and having you to understand why each bit is important for a good swing. A little note form my lesson today: Gear 1: body Gear 2: arms Gear 3: hand and clubs - They should be lock, unlock, lock OR unlock, lock, unlock. NO 2 connecting locks or unlocks. Stage 1: gear 2 movement, gear 1 and 3 lock. Make sure the swing up is above the plane (or above "water level") then swing down plane. Armpit is connected to the body and not loose, loose of arm and body will cause gear to loosen up. Stage 2: arm swing with hip movement finish; or 3 quarter swing. Starts with stage 1, finish with hip rotation forward, left hip on top of ankle (weight forward). And slight head tilt.

I'd like to come here when I visit LA or Pasadena because it's a vibe! First of all they have three…read moredecks two of them are covered, and the one on the top isn't. Before I forget, they are a cashless facility. Sometimes I buy golf clubs at the thrift store. I'm not sure if they rent them, but you could always ask. What made my last visit so fascinating was the employee working at the driving range. I didn't know where I could buy a Tee for the mat, so I took the chance and asked the worker if I could buy one there. He said I'll bring one down for you on my way back down. I said thank you and deep down I was so grateful it was going to make my experience so much better. I am a woman who has been golfing since high school. I have never taken a lesson although I love the sport. I've only ever stuck to the driving range. It's my thing. Someone once told me no one is a professional out here unless you have a green blazer. lol I got the joke

Alhambra golf driving range and course are an excellent place to start learning how to golf…read more The range has a shot tracer that you can connect to your phone to track all of your shots. It can get quite busy during peak hours and especially in the summer. There is also an area to practice short pitch shots and a sand trap. A bucket of balls cost a bit more than the average range but the shot tracer is well worth it. The 18 hole course is a bit better than your typical muni course. Greens aren't in the best shape but they are decent for the cost of the round. There is also a proshop with all you need and more to play a round. I highly recommend Alhambra Golf course!

Great instructor. I was referred to him by others that had positive results and I was really glad…read moreI started lessons with Brian. Brian knows how to analyze your swing faults and demonstrate the right feels to get your body moving as it should. During our first lesson he was able to break down each of my swings on video and explain what I needed to work on. He's was open-minded and flexible to how I needed to learn. I've worked with other PGA teaching professionals and I haven't experienced immediate results as I've done with Brian. I'm really excited to see how my game will improve.

Brian is a magician - they don't call him the Swing Doctor for nothing…read more After years of being self-taught I found myself stuck in the mid 80s and was referred to Brian as my first golf coach. On the first day we met, I told him my goal was to break 80 and wasn't looking for a complete overhaul of my swing. The one thing I noticed with Brian is that he's looking to work with you rather than having a single way of teaching things. We quickly determined I was more of a 'feel vs real' player rather than a technical player so he stopped showing my videos of down the line with hand positions and worked on what I should be feeling to get the proper ball flight. He's attentive, responsive, friendly and professional and most importantly, is invested in you getting better as a player. Less than a year later, I just shot a PR of 77! If you're looking for lessons, I can't recommend Brian enough.
