The day before check-in we called for the access codes and didn't have any trouble getting in. I gave 4 out of 5 stars because I expected to get more information/better communication from the rental company. At some point before our trip I panicked that they might not be a real company because I booked, they charged my credit card, gave me a "receipt" with no information other than the amount charged and an attachment with the property address and a phone number, then I never heard from them again. It would have been helpful for them to send out a nice PDF with the "process", cleaning policies and phone numbers in case of questions. In the end, I didn't have any trouble at all, I just would have liked some more info. We left the house in squeaky clean condition and they never charged me anything against my deposit...again, I'm just assuming no news is good news here! Now that I know how it works, I'd be glad to rent from them again.

The price was more than I wanted to pay but it felt like there was citywide gouging happening due to Luke Bryan concert in town. Black bear diner shares a parking lot so that's an easy breakfast.

They actually have a pretty decent breakfast with quiche and other items you don't usually see at other locations. They are pet friendly with grassy areas around the hotel. Why the low rating, you ask? The main problem was the shower curtain which barely touches the top of the tub. It defeats the purpose of having one unless you want to flood the bathroom floor. It's an accident/lawsuit waiting to happen. I almost slipped getting out of the shower, not realizing that the floor was very wet. Talked to the front desk about it and they said that someone ordered the wrong size so all their bathrooms all have the same shower curtains. They are apparently still waiting for the correct size to be delivered. It was frustrating. My other gripe was, we were originally assigned a 1st floor room facing the highway on the app, so I called and asked if they could give us a high floor room away from the highway. Got to the hotel, lady assured me they have assigned us a room on the 2nd floor, away from the noise. We get into our room and right outside our window was Highway 97. It's been a long day so I did not bother asking for a different room. It was not bad but it still sucks. This is an ok hotel but with the problems we encountered I don't think we will be staying here again.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds in the Cascade Lakes area. It is pretty far from Bend, but…read moreworth it if you have the time. The campground itself is pretty similar to what you might find at the other Hoodoo ran campgrounds, though it always feels a bit cleaner than the rest. The sites come with running water, shared bathrooms, picnic tables, fire rings, and a parking space. You will want to bring plenty of cash for the fees and if you bring more than one vehicle you will need to pay extra. This campground is right next to the lake and has an awesome trail that runs around the perimeter of the lake. There is a boat ramp at the end of the lake and if you just have paddle boards and kayaks you can just launch them right by your campsite. In addition to the boat ramp, there is a very nice shallow swim area. This has a gradual slope that allows the sun to warm the water up pretty fast. Overall I would say that this campground is slightly nicer than the other campgrounds in the Cascades, but the location is what really pull it up to five stars. When I have the time and money, this is my preferred campground.

Good points: the bed was comfortable, the AC worked, the water was hot, and the towels were rectangular. And, lucky for us it was quiet (Monday night). However, it felt like I was being cased when I unloaded the car. Worse was the confused guy in the incense-filled closet-sized lobby who checked me in. He asked me EIGHT TIMES if it was for one night to the point I grabbed the chained-up pen and wrote "1 NIGHT" in all caps on my arm. I recommend bringing a Sharpie.

We chose this motel when booking specifically because the reviews said it was clean. Uhhh, when we pulled back the sheets a bottle of LUBE fell out! I'm positive they did not change the sheets. There was a LAYER of dandruff and dirt along the headboard and the mattress pad, it looks like they have NEVER vacuumed or cleaned in there. I saw evidence of possible bedbugs. We went and woke the nice worker up again and asked if there was a different room, there wasn't so we just decided to drive home 2 1/2 hours away. I hope we can get our money back. Just for context, I'm a country girl who shovels poop and tosses my own roadkill. I'm no priss. But I'm not about to pay $130 bucks to snuggle up with someone else's lube. This place was next level gross. I'd even be willing to just let them keep my money if they'd pay their workers for some extra hours to do some deep cleaning. They clearly aren't paying them enough.
