I have been coming here for a while and always loved their collections. They carry your everyday brands like chanel, cartier, etc. and harder to find brands such as Chrome Hearts. The customer service is top notch and are always patient when it comes to trying on frames. They do temperature check, require wearing mask, advise to use hand sanitzer before entering as well as sanitize frames you after you touch/try them on. Highly recommend you give then a visit if you have frame fatigue and are just tired of not able to find the right glasses! read more

Their optometrists and team are very professional and knowledgeable. Good variety of sunglasses and prescriptions too!

This review is long overdue. I've been going to this branch for over 10 years now, and I must say, Emily Nhan always takes care of my family's optometry needs. She never fails to give us full attention when we are there. Emily also guides us get the benefit based on our eye insurance coverage. I could not thank her enough for giving us great customer service over the years! Cheers, Emily! Happy New Year!! read more

Poor check in service. The lady at the check in desk seems has attitude to work. I called in on 3/17 at 2:40 pm to check whether my order is ready to pick up. I was told not ready yet. Again the answering lady has attitude. Then at 2:53 pm I received a message that it is ready to pick up. Did she really check for me? read more

Bad customer service. I am their customer for many years until about 2 years ago. My $500 frame broken within 6 months; called them to ask whether there is any warranty, their said because I bought it using my vision insurance, there's no warranty. I send an email to the frame manufacturer to ask for spare parts, they replied said since it is within 6 months, they will replace a new frame for me, just need the retailer to contact them and they will send a new pair to them. I called Golden Milpitas Optometry and tell them this, they still refuse to help. I had to send email to the frame manufacturer for help. So. Finally about many emails, phone call and several weeks of effort, Golden Milpitas Optometry agreed that they will help receive the new frame for me. I moved to another Optometry after this. read more

Not truly and not responsibility. That lady said they do accepted Medicare, but then when we were there. She charged us $$$ first if Medicare approved, then she would return money back. After an eye exam, she said, "Medicare doesn't cover eye frame without reason?" It had been like 3 months, and I called several times and kept asking, and no one really replied back. I did call the insurance agent; he said yes. It will be covered every two years for eye frame and eye exam every year! read more

Went for my annual eye checkup on Dec 30th, it was really crowded because most of us wanted to use up our insurance. But they did a good job at checking my eyes. Was seen by Dr. Jackson Ma who answered all my questions patiently while checking my eyes. read more

I saw a lot of good review for Kathy. But she is super rude to me: She asked me：Tell me which one you want(in blunt words) Then I needed to double check the diopters which I should choose (Doctor gave me both distance and computer diopters) , she was very impatient like she just eat ** And she gave my order to another lady without talk to me anything. What a rude! To manager: pls train your staff well !!!! There is a big problem with Kathy's attitude. Btw, doctor and another lady were very friendly and helpful. read more

I went in this past Thursday trying to get my eyeglasses restrung for one of the lenses that's half held up by a fish wire. When I got there there was a counter staff working with a customer, two other staff working in the cubicle, two others working at a side counter, and one other main counter lady talking leisurely for 10 minutes. During that time, I stand at the center of an almost empty shop, with at least the two staff at the side counter and the main counter staff saw me waiting for help, yet NOBODY bothered to come over. Eventually I tried to approach the first counter lady whose customer was leaving, that's when the other counter lady on the phone called another staff at the side counter to see if I need help. Then they told me their technician probably wouldn't be in until Saturday - what a waste of my time. Makes you wonder what's keeping the four other staff so busy that they could ignore a customer for 10 minutes standing in the middle of the shop. Of course, that's the last time they'd see me. read more

I've been going to this place for years and to be honest, I'm surprised to say I've been going here for that long. I think it was the combination of this is what my parents are used to and me just not really thinking about it until I started getting my own insurance and "adulting". I think if you're going here to get your prescription and basic eye exam, sure it does the job. You're partially in and out, but be prepared to be stuffed in a crowded place where besides your optometrist, it seems as though you're just working with a whole bunch of college kids or maybe younger. Without a doubt though, they were nice and I had no problems with them. Now anything outside of your basic prescription and eye exam? Sales side? That's where the problem is. They rush you and to be honest don't really care about the glasses or how they look, it just feels like they want a sale out of you and will try to up the cost however they can. I've learned to stand my ground and stick to "insurance covered" glasses and lenses but they always end up being my back up back up back up glasses. And somehow, I end up "needing" to pay for a different type of lens because the frames never work with lens or my prescription doesn't work with basic lens. Some random c**p like that. Today however was the last straw. Went in after getting several texts that my glasses were ready for pickup. I ended up being there for a hour because they had not enough sales people to help me but tons of folks standing around. But I understand that, your space is your space, I've worked retail. What I don't understand is that they couldn't find my boyfriend's and my glasses. And continued to question me if I came here on my own or actually got notified. Showed her my texts, her response "well I don't see them here, you will need to wait for the guy who sold them to you to come back from lunch to find it". The problem here is that it's just a whole bunch of glasses boxes wrapped in paperwork in boxes just sitting on the floor. Seemed to have no real sense of organization. After saying she didn't have any of my glasses, she found 2 pairs and still couldn't find the 3rd. We had to come back and the guy was there, but he ended up just shrugging us off and telling some other lady to look for our glasses and surprise surprise it was in some other random location where none of the other glasses were. I feel like they've been in this business long enough to not have simple pickups be so complicated. Also I can't constantly help but feel like I'm being ripped off with prices. Every time these glasses feel terrible and if I end up with a brand name one, the lenses are always terrible. I end up buying way nicer glasses with my prescription for way cheaper on eyebuydirect.com. I plan to look for a new location for this year's insurance to at least compare my experience. If anything changes, I'll be providing another update to this rating, otherwise, I'll be on my way out. Thanks to the kind optometrist who helped me and the ones behind the receptionist counter, I know y'all try your best. read more

My family and I are yearly customers at Milpitas Golden Vision, and Kathy is always the best at helping us with choosing our glasses. She's patient and always willing to help us find the best fit. In addition to her very valuable advice when we're selecting our glasses, she's also very helpful with explaining what type of add ons are available and advising us on which ones would best fit our needs. Whenever we go to Golden Vision for our annual appointment, we always go to Kathy for help. read more

Bad customer service. No greeting when I walked in, there were at least three clerks and none even look up. No one said anything to me until I asked one of the lady to let me take a look at a glass frame. They locked every drawer which it's very unease feeling because I feel bad to ask the lady to open drawer for me when I want to try on more than one glasses. After I put it on, she didn't ask me how I felt or if liked it, pretty much is that she opened drawer, handed it to me and walked away, which I don't want to bother her to open the second drawer and shop more. It wasn't busy at all but she just don't want to do the business I guess. I will not return. read more

Last week, I went to Golden Vision to take the eye examination for my lenses. Everything had unreasonable prices. The photos of my eye cost $60 while I would have only been charged $30 at other optometries. The prices of the lenses were 150% higher than other online stores or other such places. Their service was horrible and they tried to take advantage of my insurance to get more money. I suggest that you don't go here. read more

I went to pick up my eyeglasses yesterday. When I walked in to Golden Vision Milpitas, I asked a lady who sat by herself and was not helping anyone for help. I needed to pick up my eyeglasses. Her name is Sharon. When I tried on my new eyeglasses, I felt the eyeglasses were uneven. I asked if Sharon can adjust it for me. She said it looked even to her. I asked AGAIN if she could please help me adjust it. She said go ask Kathy who helped me order the eyeglasses to fix it. I looked at her cold face, I was speechless. WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS IT? I didn't know Kathy was off yesterday. Is it a new rule that the same person that helped me order the eyeglasses have to adjust the eyeglasses for me? I'm NOT HAPPY with this rude and unprofessional behavior. Today, I went back to Golden Vision Milpitas, I'm happy to see Kathy again. As usual, Kathy was friendly and kind, she adjusted the eyeglasses for me. Thanks Kathy for helping me pick my frames and lens. Kathy is warm, patience, responsive and professional. Thank you so much Kathy for taking care of me! I'm appreciate for your excellent service! read more

My husband and I go to Golden Milpitas for annual check and renew our glasses. We have very great experiences each time. The doctor there is very knowledgeable and professional. The machines are advanced as well. Staffs are super helpful. Sharon helped us choose the frames every time. She is very patient and friendly. She provides good suggestions to satisfy various requirements. We spent 3 hours with her last Sunday from during noon, and she skipped her lunch to serve us continuously. During Covid-19, I would suggest to make an appointment before you go. The store is pretty prepared, as they re-layout the counters, and have the hand sanitizer everywhere. All staffs wear the masks all the time, and you will get the temperature tested before entering the store. After you try every frame, they will ensure it gets cleaned before putting the frame back. read more

Great Experience! Highly recommend the salesperson Kathy at Golden Vision Milpitas - she's very responsive and knowledgeable about frame and lens options and willingly sent my my sunglasses lens to be re-done without a fuss to get it just right with my progressive prescription so i can see both for distance and for reading. I love my new sunglasses and the price I paid was as promised with no markups and the turnaround was quick. I would definitely go back again ! read more

I was in the IPL for my dry eye treatment. I felt less dry eyes and felt comfortable. Doctor and staff were nice

My new favorite optometrist place! I'm a new patient here and can honestly say that the staff made a lasting impression on me. I came in for contact lens fitting/exam and Dr. Ma was very quick but also super thorough. He took the time to explain everything to me and answer all of my questions. Wilson and Yvonne were both helpful in answering my questions with purchasing contact lenses. They helped make sure I was getting the best deal on contacts and walked me through getting a rebate on the Acuvue contacts I bought. Thank you to the kind staff and big shoutout to Dr. Ma, Wilson, and Yvonne for taking the extra step to make my visit surprisingly enjoyable. read more

Bad service ever. Two years ago, my husband and I bought two pairs of glasses here at different time. The lady who helped us was the same one. She tried to introduce some expensive frames. After I chose a "cheaper" one, which is till 200 more bucks, she seemed unhappy and when I wanted to ask more questions, only several words left. My husband had exactly the same experience! At that time I thought maybe all the opticals have the same service. However, I experienced two different ones in the past two years, both of them have much much better service than this one and also they charged less. So I decide to leave a feedback today. read more

I had a bad experience here and I would not recommend people to come here for their glasses. They charged much higher than other stores. And their service is terrible. I have VSP insurance which covers the $155 frame fee but told only could choose from two small boxes full of dust. She told me only these two boxes are less and equal to $155. Then for the lens, they sell kinds of features and charge me kinds of fees. I don't want to add these features, but they reject and say the glass won't work without these extra features. Actually, my insurance could cover all for good lenses. As the result, I have to pay these extra fees which around $100. Then I got a pair of glasses two weeks later, but suddenly the lens drop off and the frame was broken after two weeks. I want to replace it with a different frame and would like to pay the difference since the quality of the frame is not good. But was told that I have to choose the same size and same model as the broken one. I would like to ask the store manager. But the employee told me that the manager is not working that day and I cannot find her. Then I asked her the name of the manager and found the name card at the front desk of the store. I tried to call the number of the manager but found the manager is in the store who is standing very close to us in the store. I will never go to this store and not recommend people to go there. read more

I will never go back here and I suggest you do the same. The staffs are horrible and sloppy. Worst of all, they think they are good. I overheard they talked to each other that newbies are not as good as the senior staffs. I am like "RIGHT...." It's laughable. They messed up my appointments and my orders. And one time I scheduled an appointment with a doctor, they did not call to notify me that Dr can not make it that day. And they still argued that I did not tell them I only want that doctor. There is a reason I schedule an appointment with that particular doctor!! And the wait time is long. One time I waited for an hour and I complained to the staff. She is like others waited longer. It really pissed me off. There is a reason we scheduled for that particular time! And it's not like we don't need to work. I had to stick with them just because I have paid with my insurance already. I have not gone back since. The only good thing there is Dr Teresa Wu. She is very friendly and patient. I hope she can find a better store then this. Dr. Wen seems to be very experienced but she is very impatient. I felt she just wanted to shovel me out and get the next one in. We also looked at the sunglasses over there. They said the Tag Heuer is 500 which is more expensive than the Tag Heuer store in Valleyfair for 100 dollars more. That 100 dollars is about the amount that the insurance compensate us for glasses. They just literally raised the price to take that as their profit. I suggest you not to buy glasses there either. read more

Stopped by Golden Optometry again the other day with a great guy friend... *sigh* My addiction to glasses continues... I just wanted to update my review and add a quick note that they still have a great selection and great service. This time, Xia Ying helped us and she was very patient and good at choosing frames that we liked. That kinda service makes me wanna come back everytime I'm bored with my selection of glasses and want something new. (After donating some, I now only have 6 pair.) See ya there! read more

Kathy was very helpful and informative. Great customer service. They have a lot of selections here as well.

Sharon's service is amazing and my frame is delivered very quickly, the quality is good

I just picked up my Tiffany & Co. eye glasses with prescription from Golden Milpitas. I would say their range of selections is a lot bigger and better than Vision First Eye Care that is also located in the same plaza. Golden makes great prescription eye glasses, the technician there knows how to adjust the frame to the comfy position for my face. The nicest thing is, they can add nose pads to the frame; this is really nice for someone like me, who has lower nose bridge - and the nose pads are very durable. Now, service can be annoyed sometimes; they have too many staffs who don't have much experiences and always have to wait for the senior to help out. I personally prefer to have Emily to help me, since she's there for many many years. Price wise, they are on the higher side; if I were to choose something that already has nose pads then I might not come here. read more

I really wish there was negative stars possible. I called this optometry today and had a 7 minute conversation where the woman kept talking about exorbitant costs for ortho k lenses inspite of us having insurance. Mind you we are very familiar with ortho k with my daughter using it for the past 8 years. If you want new business, you should consider hiring folks who are motivated. This lady kept going in circles! So frustrating! read more

I've been coming to Golden Optometry for a few years now and it looks like they've had some recent renovations. The place looks great and they are taking COVID precautions by doing a temperature check at the door, social distancing, limiting the number of people in the store, and all staff wearing masks. I usually come in to see Dr. Chang but I experienced a scheduling issue and ended up seeing Dr.Ma. The online scheduling system is interesting.... they have you select up to 3 dates and preferred times and staff will contact you to offer/confirm appointments. I received a confirmation email on the same day I sent in my request and I emailed back my preference within the hour. However, I never got a response back and then I never got any reminders. (I received an email that made it look like I had an appointment but the comments on the bottom offered other time options with my preferred doctor) I thought it was a bit weird and called to confirm my appointment the day of. I found out that they had missed my email and I was never scheduled at all (not even for the time it said I was rescheduled for). I was disappointed but the staff were pretty good and was able to offer another appointment for me with Dr. Ma for the next day. I've seen Dr. Ma before and the time worked out for me so I was fine with it however, as a caution for anyone else, maybe call to firmly confirm an appointment. Aside from that weird email glitch, everything went pretty well. Dr. Ma was very knowledgeable and patient with his explanations and my inquiries. He was also thoughtful enough to offer me two prescriptions (stronger one for driving and softer one for computer screen use) when he found out I mostly work in front of a computer screen. My primary goal was to get an updated prescription for glasses and I got it all done within a 30 minute visit. The staff were helpful and thorough with their explanation for my insurance benefits and I really like the doctors there, I'd recommend this place if you're looking for a new office to go to. read more
