We needed 10 windows replaced in our new house We ordered Marvin wood windows for the front and Anlin vinyl windows on the side and back . The Marvin wood window is a pricey product but beautiful. We have used Anlin before and they are great and 1/2 the money or the wood Marvin . The installation went smooth. The crew started around 8 AM and finished at 5 o'clock. The Anlin Windows came with Anlin armor, which is the sticker that you removed off the glass so they look perfectly white without all the fingerprints smudges. The building permit process was easy felt like a waste of money. We paid thousands of dollars to the building department and the building inspector came for 30 seconds. All he talked about is our smoke detector and the new batteries that are required along with the carbon monoxide detector. He was very familiar with Golden State Windows and said they did great work after barely looking at their installation. We like the grids squares they added some character to the house. Helpful Heads-Up About the Warranty In 2018, we had five new windows installed by Golden State Windows. The installation was generally good--one window part was accidentally broken during the process, but they came back a few weeks later to replace it, and we were satisfied at the time. This year, the handle on one of our crank windows broke. Since the company advertises a "full lifetime warranty," we reached out hoping they could help. Unfortunately, they let us know the repair would cost $500, which was disappointing given the warranty language. We ended up ordering the Anlin Catalina series product. Golden State Windows had a crazy selection of over 30 brands they sell. We really liked the Anlin product because of the way it operates very smooth. The installation team from Golden State Windows was amazing. They installed the entire house in one day. The cleanup was phenomenal. I am very detailed and My House is extremely clean so it was a relief on how they handled things. We ended up ordering low E with argon gas for extra energy efficiency and sound reduction. We really liked the fact that the Anlin Window lifetime warranty transfers to the New Owner if we ever sell the property. also, the manufacturer warranty had accidental glass breakage included for free. The Building permit process was a pain in the butt. They charged us a bunch of money and barely looked at the windows. All they wanted to discuss was the batteries in the smoke detector and the carbon monoxide detectors. What a rip off the City permit has created. We will definitely be contacting Golden State Windows in the future when we change our Windows in our rental property. The sliding doors are awesome Very easy to open even at 12 foot wide . We got a garden window for the kitchen and my wife loves it.
