Alan and Brian did an amazing job on our siding project. They were professional and honest throughout the entire process, worked very clean, and even got the job done early. Their price for the job was very competitive as well. I highly recommend them! I am extremely happy with the work they did! read more

We hired Alan to replace our leaking windows and siding on the front and roof of a multi-story condo building. He is one of the most honest and quality-focused contractors I have ever worked with. During planning, I spoke to a number of other contractors who wanted to use retrofit windows and just leave the siding in place. Alan took the time to explain the proper way that the building wrap, siding and windows had to interface to get waterproofing, and how we were better off replacing all three if we wanted to be sure we'd fix our problem. Even with this extra scope, Alan's pricing was very fair. Thank god we went with Alan. When they removed the existing siding, they found severe water damage underneath the siding and a subpar earlier repair job. When this surprise came up, Alan talked us through the damage and gave us our options. They ended up ripping up two layers of existing siding, cutting out damaged building sheathing and replacing it with new plywood, before proceeding with the job. The overrun costs were very reasonable and we never felt like Alan was taking advantage of us. The end result was great quality at a fair price, and peace of mind that our issues have been resolved and we won't have to worry about the front / roof for a long time now. I would definitely hire Alan again and would recommend him to anyone looking for this kind of work. read more

4 years later, I called upon Alan again to install siding for the front of a 3-story apartment building in San Francisco. Alan is very knowledgeable of the City's requirements! He and his crew work very well with the neighbors, and are respectful of the tenants. The materials and service are top-notch! Alan is super responsive to clients and their needs. He is professional and trustworthy. He is worth every penny for quality and peace of mind. I can't thank you enough, Alan! read more

Alan and Brian were an absolute pleasure to work with. Alan is so knowledgeable and honest with his many years of expertise and we knew we were in good hands from the day we met him. He communicated thoroughly every step of the way and took the time to walk us through any unexpected issues that arose. The job was complete within the timeframe that he estimated and we were amazed with the quality of work. We are so thankful to have met Alan & Brian and will definitely be working with them again in the near future with other projects. read more

OK,now Alan is making up nonsense to cover for his lack of follow-through. He and his worker did not lay down tarps as claimed, did not show pictures as claimed, did not follow through as expected. It shouldn't be the customer doing the final inspection; it should be part of his job. Alan, it is not OK to make up facts. He did finally clean-up but only after several contacts to him. Passing the buck onto the customer for your lack of follow-through is just low. Very disappointing. read more

Great work by Alan and team. The entire back side of the house had vinyl that was in bad shape in need of repair. Alan explained what my options were and my decision was to replace it with newer, more improved vinyl siding. I also had two windows that needed to be replaced, so we added that to the overall job. Alan's team was punctual and very thorough. They waterproofed the entire back side of the house, and the finished project looked great. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves as the old materials were messy. I'll be working with Alan again to replace windows in the front of the house as we head into the cooler months. read more

Alan is a great guy, honest and will do whatever he can to accommodate your needs with his team. There were some major hurtles with the city and permitting but we both worked through it and the job ended up done on time. Had a party right after and everyone loves the new patio awning. read more

I recently hired Alan Siding & Windows and it was an exceptional experience. From start to finish, Alan and his team were on point; their transparency, professionalism, and attention to detail were unparalleled. Every aspect of the project was carefully planned, executed, and monitored to ensure the highest level of quality in the workmanship. As I was offsite during the work, I especially appreciated Alan's outstanding communication skills. He was always available by text and phone to address questions and provide updates, and responded promptly any time I reached out to him. This level of responsiveness put my mind at ease throughout the entire project and made the process stress-free. The project management skills of the team were exceptional. They kept me informed every step of the way and made sure that everything was done on schedule and to plan. They were also fair price negotiators, ensuring that I got the best value for my money. One of the most impressive things about this team was how they handled the impact of the job on my neighbors. They were great facilitators, working closely and directly with the neighbors to minimize any disruption and manage expectations. (The neighbors were so impressed with Alan's workmanship and professionalism they informed Alan they intend to hire him to do similar work on their building.) I highly recommend Alan Siding & Windows to anyone looking for top-notch siding services. There are few vendors who meet and then exceed all of my expectations and who I can trust to do the best job possible - and Alan is one of them. Two thumbs way up. read more

We have a five story house in SF. We talked to a few contractors, Alan sounded the best and he was. The job was done very professionally and it took them less time that originally promised. They even did a few things extra at no charge. Highly recommend. read more

I had a siding leak from the aged wood sidings. Alan and Brian have done a fantastic job in overlaying a brand new Vinyl siding on top of the old one. I originally had some concern regarding the matching and edge trimming between the old and new sidings, but their work just blew me away. Brian was the guy who got the actual job done. He was so efficient and finished the work way faster than I expected. The new siding looks beautiful and blends in perfectly with the deck and the wood sidings on the other side of the house. I would highly recommend Alan-Vinyl Siding & Windows for any siding/windowing work! read more

I called Alan and he came to my house. We had a basic discussion about siding on the back of my house. He spent like 45-60 minutes talking about how he knows his stuff and he's a old school Sunset District guy. Dude never calls me back, straight up nothing. Blows my mind why one would take the time to come out for an estimate and then never respond. Do I really have to ask home depot to come by. I would prefer to have Mom and Pop do my siding but Alan makes it hard. read more

Alan and his "crew" were awesome, easy to work with, showed up on time throughout the siding project, and finished a few days early. Alan explained what they were going to do and why. He did everything I asked and answered every question I had in a way that I understood. I put crew in quotes because he had one guy do the job of putting siding on the back of our 3 story building. Alan explained that Brian could do the job of two people. Of course, I was skeptical and thought this was going to take forever to complete. The completion estimate was 10 days; Brian did it in 6, and the results are beautiful. I wish all companies and people were as easy to work with as Alan. I'd definitely recommend Alan. read more

Had a great experience with Alan Siding & Windows! I had a complicated vinyl siding installation in the light well of my 3-story building that included a lot of utility pipes, drain pipes, and air vents. I met with a few contractors about the project, and Alan was the only one who took notice of particular issues specific to my building and suggested solutions to them. His pricing was competitive, and he visited the job site regularly to check on the progress. Alan's installer Brian did an amazing job of working around all the pipes, windows, and vents. He came up with some creative solutions that made the installation not only professional and watertight but beautiful. Highly recommended. Five stars for Alan Siding & Windows! read more

Alan was so helpful to us in determining the best way to proceed with our project. He could have just taken our money but he explained that in our situation, it would be more cost-effective to go a different route. Can't recommend his services highly enough, you will be in great hands! read more

Alan and his crew installed new vinyl siding and fixed our leaking windows. Our vinyl windows were less than ten years old and leaked due to the wrong type of window installed. Alan and his team rebuilt and water proofed every window frame and now the water stays out. The vinyl siding looks beautiful and blocks more city noise. Alan's prices were more reasonable compared to other siding contractors and he was by far the most knowledgeable and personable. read more

Alan was super professional and took the time to talk through all of our options. He ended up recommending a solution that made sense for our project and was not the most expensive option. It was a logistically complicated job requiring coordination with a construction project next door, but Alan handled everything including working with the site manager for that project to get the timing right. We couldn't be happier with the final product and the whole experience of working with Alan. read more

Alan and his crew did a great job on the back of our almost-100 year old San Francisco house. The workers carefully removed the deteriorating old wood shingles (that were unfortunately sprayed with Tex cote long ago!) They then efficiently did the waterproofing and insulated siding on our 3-story house with an added sunroom and gable besides...all for a LOT less than other estimates from a big box store - and in less than 2 weeks. The benefit of the added insulation was immediately evident too. I highly recommend this company if you want a low maintenance solution to an old house's problems (In fact my sister already used them too!) read more

We have a house in Daly City that was built in the 40's that needed some TLC. We didn't know a lot about siding and paint etc... After calls to Home Depot and such we called Alan and he responded quickly and was patient and explained to us everything that we needed to know about siding, the material, construction, and how it's installed, he was very detailed and knows his business and that's all before he got the bid!! His crew was great and professional and once the job was done he was also very detailed on the walk thru as he does care about his work. We had some additional remodel work done on our home after the siding job and the contractor cut the siding to put a sliding glass door in. Alan promptly came out and repaired the damage quickly. We are very happy with his work and highly recommend him. read more

Alan and crew put new siding on the rear and 2 sides of our place in SF this past summer. Alan was very friendly and helpful during the quoting and also fun to work with during the project. Alans quote was in the middle of the pack during the quoting process and I decided to go with him because of the attention to detail he showed during the quoting process and his passion for talking about Siding. The quality of the work when it was all finished confirmed Alans attention to detail and I'm glad I hired them for the job. Brian did the majority of the work himself and was also a pleasure to work with. He was incredibly efficient, hard working and very professional and skilled at his craft. He's a little serious at first, but i enjoyed chatting with him daily. read more

We love how the house looks! I didn't realize new siding on the rear of the house would make me this happy. Three other contractors I spoke to were all over the place with their bids, pricing, smoke & mirrors, confusion, little to no detail, etc. Had we worked with someone else, I know this wouldn't have turned out as well, it wouldn't have gotten done as quickly and it would have cost us more. Clients for life. Excellent work! Alan is a pro. Work with Alan for your siding and window needs- you WILL NOT be disappointed. The quality of his work, his communication, his ability to stick to deadlines, and his professionalism is unmatched. He stuck to the quoted price (he also happened to be the lowest price) even though there was additional work that was needed. His crew finished ahead of schedule and the job looks amazing. Alan should be everyone's go-to guy for siding and window needs! read more

We recently contacted Alan-Vinyl Siding & Windows about installing new siding on our outer sunset home. Everything about the process was enjoyable and we are very satisfied with the end results. Alan got back to me within a day or two of contacting him via email and set up a time to come by and consult with us about the project. He came out and went over the process and discussed what would work best for us and gave a very reasonable quote. We discussed schedules and what the project would entail and after taking it in to consideration we moved forward with Alan-Vinyl Siding & Windows. Alan and his team (Brian and Constantine) were actually able to start earlier then expected which was a bonus for us. The first day of the project his team showed up early and was off and running. They were clean and courteous and very easy to work with. A few days later the project was wrapped and we couldn't be happier. Alan came by and did a final walk through and we discussed care and maintenance. He also offered to come by and consult with any other contractors we may hire in the future which may interact with the siding as to maintain the longevity of the work he's done. We had a great experience on this project and would definitely work with him and his team again. read more

My brother just had siding installed on the side of his home. After getting two price quotes from the well known big box contractors, I recommended he consult the Yelp community. And boy, did it pay off big! Alan Siding had such nice reviews, he contacted them. Alan called back within the week and was out to check out the job the next week. He explained the job in detail (which was basically what Big Box explained) BUT, he gave a MUCH more reasonable estimate. He had two men on the job who worked diligently and kept things super clean every day. He also visited the work site daily, to make sure it progressed as it should. The siding is Beautiful. Neighbors who experience the same harsh weather damage on their own home are admiring it daily. If you are also tired of the painting every 4-5 years, please give Alan Siding a call. It's a small business that's a big show off, when it comes to quality siding work. You will be happy, happy, happy! And your home has just got a major upgrade in value. Thanks again Alan! read more

Called for an estimate for a vinyl siding job to our house on a Tuesday and left a message. Alan called back the next day and scheduled an appointment for that Thursday morning. Alan arrived on time and we went over the project in detail. Received his proposal/contract and was pleasantly surprised at the cost. I was even more pleasantly surprised that he had the material and crew available to start the project within 3 days! With the supply and material shortages due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I was excited that he had everything needed to do the job. I signed the contract on a Monday and was given the start day of Wednesday. He and Brian showed up promptly and started the job as promised on Wednesday. Brian is meticulous at what he does. Brian was punctual every day, curious, polite, and extremely skilled. The job progressed nicely over several days and was completed as originally promised. The job went flawlessly and the end result is perfection. All the debris was cleaned up every night when Brian was done for the day and in the end, everything was left like they were never there. Alan from Alan Siding is who you will speak with when starting the process from setting up the consultation time, going over the scope of work, and working out the scheduling of the work. Alan takes great pride in the end result of the endproduct and it is clear that he values keeping your home weather proof. He is knowledgable about the product pros and cons and can help you decide what type of siding to use in your home. We worked with Alan about 7 years ago and had vinyl siding put up in the back of our house. The job was done efficiently and we had no issues with the work or the product. We asked Alan for a consult recently when work done on the back of out house affected the integrity of the siding. Alan not only took his time to explain how the work negatively affected our siding but then took further steps in pointing out the problems and ways to mitigate the problems to our contractor. Alan provided me with honest feedback of the work being done on my home and advice on how to deal with the issues caused by the recent work on our house. Alan was professional and extremely helpful throughout this headache portion of our remodel. He really stands by his work, takes the outcome of his work seriously and is really trustworthy. read more

If you want high quality siding and craftsmanship Alan is the person to call. He will be happy to answer any questions you have about the job to what kind of materials he will be using. I had him do the siding on the back of my house which had quite a few windows. The end result was amazing the windows frames were perfectly wrapped, the siding they used was top notch. At the end he went over how to take care of the siding and explained how he will stand behind his work and give free consultations if any work requires the siding to be touched to maintain the warranty. I will not hesitate to call Alan again if I ever need siding work done. read more

I had Alan come to put siding on my home in the sunset district right by the beach in SF. So you know my home takes a lot of beating from the conditions. Alan is such a good guy and his crew was very professional! You can tell he really cares about his work, plus he said he started doing siding since he was 13 with his dad. Wow, Alan is really amazing. I was trying to figure out how to upgrade the exterior of an old house and consulted Alan. It was a great decision. Alan called me back quickly and spent a generous amount of time educating me about vinyl siding and construction code of SF without any pressure to buy. He is super knowledgeable and friendly. I'm not sure if I'll go ahead with this project, but if I do, it will be with Alan-vinyl siding & Windows. Call Alan if you're looking for siding or windows. read more

This company is either out of business, on vacation, or remarkably unresponsive. I used Yelp!'s estimate service to send a request for an estimate to them over a week ago. My written request included the rough dimensions for the siding I would need and the style of vinyl I would like. After not hearing back from them for a few days I phoned them and left a detailed voicemail. After no response to that I've called them maybe five times, but the same outgoing recorded message simply asks callers to leave a message. If there is something about my job that they cannot do, they could at least let me know what it is. I'm sorry to give them only one star after reading all the five-star reviews, but that is all they have earned. read more

I had some siding at the SIDE of my building (limited access due to neighbor's ownership) that I thought needed repair/replacement, and submitted photos with dimensions to him. As it turns out (per photos), the siding was not violating any building codes, and it would be better to proceed with another inspection specialist BEFORE enlisiting his services. Alan is EXTREMELY knowledgeable, gives you sound advice based on his extensive experience with siding, and is a very straight forward guy. When it comes time to put new siding on my house, he will surely be at the top of my very short list! Thanks Alan for your time and expertise! read more

From the first time we met Alan, to our final sign off on the completed work, we knew we had a siding contractor with many years of experience who was honest, up-front and real with us. Alan let us know how he was going to do the work, why he was doing the work that way, accommodated our needs, and gave us his best work 'team' to do the job. And the 'team' was a one-man powerhouse named Brian, who soloed through our tear off and re-siding in 7 days, and it is beautiful. Brian went up and down ladders removing all our old siding, pulling out innumerable nails, wrapping and re-siding our house, fabricating trim, and laying down a clean line of calking around every door and window. Brian was hard-working, pleasant and kept an eye to detail that we very much appreciate in the final product. Alan was there to answer every question in detail and to make sure the job met the quality standards of his company. Alan also gave us a very reasonable quote using quality materials, and he backs up his work. He provides free consulting for the life of the job if there are any problems, or anything needs to be done in the future, such as additional exterior details which would entail going through the siding, to make sure it is done in a way which preserves the value of our investment. Alan provided plenty of examples of his commitment and that provided us confidence in using his services. Highly recommended. read more

Alan replaced all the vinyl siding at the back of our home. The siding faced numerous problems from a previous owner, including: * Incorrect siding installation * Incorrect window casing installation * Incorrect weather fitness all round Alan and his team replaced all the vinyl siding and window casements. He and his crew do a great job, and take immense pride in the quality of their work. They work quickly (job started earlier than expected, and finished in 5-6 working days), and cleaned up thoroughly. Some specific aspects I liked about Alan and his work: * He wasn't at all salesman-like in his dealings, unlike 4 other companies we spoke to * Alan does work himself, and knows his business and trade * Alan's attention to detail was greater than that of other companies (e.g. he notices and diagnoses tiny details like pulling nails and missing caulking, which suggest issues that have not yet materialized) * He gave honest and thoughtful opinions regarding future work we may want to do outside of the remit of siding, which pertain to making our house even more weather proof * He's easy to access by text, phone and email * He was generally always 15/20 minutes early to arrive on site, and communicated when he was running late * He sent a broken-down, detailed quote -- much more palatable than the "all-in-one" black-box price offered by larger companies like Sears Home Improvement * He kept in good communication throughout the job regarding "new discoveries" that needed work (which you should expect if you're tearing old siding off a building!) * He was easy to work with in terms of scheduling around our prior commitments, and coming back promptly to fix up omissions and incidental damages * He knows San Francisco's micro climates and understands what needs to be done to make a house weatherproof specific to these neighborhoods * He's friendly and easy to work with! If you're looking for a high quality job, at a cost that won't break the bank, I can only recommend Alan! read more

I simply can't say enough good things about the service we got from Alan and his team at Alan Siding and Windows. The back of our wood siding SF home was a mess with pealing paint and all kinds of wires, pipes, and attachments left by the prior owner. Alan answered the phone personally and gave an extremely informed opinion and came for a prompt evaluation of the situation. He clearly takes great pride in the quality of his work. We needed a couple 3rd story windows replaced as well which he did without a problem (he got the high quality warrantied custom windows from Alside within 2 weeks). The back of our home is now beautiful and water/wind tight. Its like we have a new home. I compared his estimate for all of this personal service and excellent product with competitors and his price was right in the mix, but we also got Alan's expertise and experience. Instead of a siding salesman, we got an expert. You should go with Alan for your siding, I give him my highest recommendation. read more

Wow, what a positive experience, and end result on the siding work needed on my home, done by Alan's company Alan Siding & Windows. A large tree limb had fallen in my backyard, and damaged a portion of the siding, which we had put on 25 years ago. I contacted Alan and he promptly came out to look over the damage. Right from the start Alan informed me that the siding material, and color of the siding was no longer being made, I told him I didn't want a patch job, I wanted the repairs to look like their was never any damage. Alan went right to bat on my behalf and contacted my home owners insurance agent, and began working on getting my claim approved to have brand new siding for the entire house. Amazing negotiations done by Alan to obtain approval! The material, workmanship on my home is superb, and Alan's customer service skill level is by far the most exceptional I have ever experienced. If you want to put siding on your home, or need repairs done, I highly recommend Alan's company. Ken A. Alameda, CA read more

There is a lot to like and nothing to dislike about the work that Alan and his crew have done. First off, his first visit. We needed to take care of an east-facing wall that abutted our neighbor's house but rose above it. In order to do the job, they would have to use our neighbor's roof to reach our wall. Alan went into great deal describing the problems and explaining what needed to be done and how his crew would do it. He also volunteered to talk to our neighbors to explain what our project would entail, how it would affect them, and reassure them that the crew would do their best to leave no damage to their roof (and a small deck as well). Not that we have had trouble with our neighbors, but they were assured by Alan and agreed for the work to be done. Two weeks later, on schedule, the crew appeared and started work. The initial estimate was 6 days (allowing for possible troubles). But Alan said the work would likely be done in 4 days or less. The crew started work and after 1 day it looked like they would be done a lot sooner. In fact they finished in 2 days. And they did an excellent job. They were also very polite and very considerate. They politely asked to use our "facilities" (my polite word) and knocked on the door whenever nature called. And then they cleaned up! Our garage (where supplies were stored and work was done shaping various pieces of metal) was cleaner after they left than before they arrived. We checked the roof of our neighbor's house and there was no sign of any detritis from the work. Alan came by today to pick up his check (more on that shortly) and we took him to our roof where he too inspected to insure that the crew had cleaned up and that the job had been performed correctly. The check? Alan's was the best bid of any we received. In sum, we are VERY pleased with the work done and most highly recommend Alan-vinyl Siding & Windows. read more
