Communication was good, and there were no unexpected surprises. The employees come roughly around the same time and make sure to let you know that they've arrived. They also let you know when they are leaving for the day. The technicians worked hard and addressed any questions that popped up. At the end, an employee made sure that I knew how to operate the thermostat to control both zones. A staff member was present for the city inspection and for an inspection for HERS (Home Energy Rating System). Mark made sure that I had all necessary documentation to apply for a rebate and for another rebate, Mark was able to apply directly for that and forward the rebate to me. A minor question/issue came up after the installation and Mark replied quickly. I feel that they will address any problems. Some companies forget you exist after doing the job, but I don't feel that way with Compare Heating & Air.

Our two-story house only had one HVAC zone with one thermostat installed in the hallway upstairs…read more It was very in inefficient and ineffective in making our house comfortable. We called Royale Air to give us a plan to install 2-zone system, replace our old thermostat and potentially some ducts, install 2 Nest thermostats and 3 Temperature sensors across the house, and clean the ducts. Abdu gave us an estimate that was reasonable but most importantly tailored to solving our problem as opposed to adding more services. We agreed to his estimate on the spot. We were aware of how much our neighbors spent on similar services. We were put on schedule for the work to be completed which took a bulk of a day. Crew came in on time, respectful of our house (shoe covers, floor covered, clean ladders, etc). Abdu continuously consulted with us when things weren't as straightforward (like possibility of running wires from attic to main floor). Work completed on time. Crew cleaned up the place as if no one was there. Abdu called us few days after to check if we had any questions. Family owned small business. Honest and personable. You can't beat that.

The service call itself seemed high, but I had no reasonable comps and did not balk. Tech was on-site nearly 2 hours, trying to troubleshoot; I had no fault with him. Conclusion: faulty MSP breaker. "Cost sheet" price to replace: nearly $500. WTH! Called Connolly, was told that was the price; tech himself said the price included built-in labor. The part itself from nearby hardware store: under $25 including tax. I declined the install and dispatched the tech. The tech was already on-site; with experience, should have taken under 10 minutes. $500 was over-the-top EGREGIOUS. Pigs get slopped, hogs get slaughtered. I cold-called a local electrician who said his rate is $300 first hour. Local hardware store referred me to an electrician who sometimes works there. His rate: just $125. Based on my experiences, I will do no further business with Connolly. For any future service required, I will use other sources. Connolly customers should consider my negative experiences and rip-off pricing. Curiously, the water heater is working ... sans replacement breaker. When-if fails again, with benefit of YouTube videos and guidance from a friend experienced with electrical things, I will replace the defective breaker myself.
