Called 4 different HVAC/duct cleaning companies who all didn't clean dryer vents. Finally found HSR who overall had positive reviews and serviced Vallejo. I'm happy to say they are very punctual, professional, communicative, and provided picture documentation of their findings during their job. And they verbally tell you what they find to help narrate the pictures they took. Yes, they do inquire about other vent services they provide and ask you about wanting to perform them etc. but they aren't pushy about it (atleast not to me). At the end of the day they are a business, so can't really blame them for asking. They people I had service my house was Craig (main guy) followed by his two helpers Jonathan and Efrain who were great and liked the job they did so much, that I signed up for annual dryer vent cleaning and in 2022 they will also clean the AC/heating vents (held off at this time on making this an annual for now). read more

The dreaded message on the stopped dryer: "vent blocked." My HVAC company said the best thing to do was call a Diamond Certified vent-cleaning service. HSR was exactly that. Even though the HSR tech who was scheduled to do my service called in sick, the HSR owner was able to make other arrangements to get the work done the same day it was scheduled. I really appreciated that. Our tech was quick, efficient, thorough. There might have been 20 years or more of lint and dust between the dryer and the roof--all gone now, thanks to HSR. Beware of bait and switch practices. When I contacted customer service and was quoted a basic gutter cleaning for under $300, it was not made clear it was a two part service of an inspection followed by the cleaning, to be made at a later date. The confirmation email stated that the service for December 29th was a basic gutter cleaning.  On the 29th I was contacted by James, who was at our property. I was only then informed he was there to do an inspection and the gutter cleaning would be at a later date. I live 20+ minutes away, which I let customer service know several times, and asked if we could discuss the inspection over the phone when he was finished. He said that it was really important I was there to go over his assessment in person. My husband left work in Walnut Creek to drive out to Benicia and I called Maria at customer service to schedule the actual cleaning. I expressed my irritation at the situation and she assured me it was to assess roof safety for their employees, which seemed reasonable. When I talked to my husband afterwards, he felt it was a complete waste of time and we were only needed out at the property to upsell additional gutter services. Later we received the new estimate for $1,211. I cannot believe what a ridiculous waste of time this experience has been. My husband went out Friday and cleaned the gutters and downspouts himself and it took under 2 hours. Luckily, my husband knew these upsells were unnecessary but I'm sure they've had many unaware customers pay hundreds of dollars more than they needed to. I was hoping I could write a review after HSR came back to repair the poor work done on my roof and gutters. But it's been several months now and - even though their own inspector came out and confirmed the serious problem created by one of their gutter crews - NO ONE has actually called or stopped to by to discuss repairs. When I try to talk to anyone associated with the people who did the work locally, all I get is a distant, apparently corporate-level operator who PROMISES she'll pass along the information. But she doesn't. Or they ignore her. Summary: I paid $10,000 last June for gutters and roof work. I'm handicapped, so my inspection of the final work was done from a distance. Six months later, my gardener discovered a large, broken corner roof tile hidden behind a tree and he points to a completely open roof area where rain water can AND DOES get in. I call HSR. Eventually, an inspector arrives and he agrees that the HSR crew was careless and that a repair is the company's responsibility. Silence. Silence. SILENCE. Not a call. Not a visit. My gardener went up on a ladder and attached some plastic sheeting over the hole in the roof as a makeshift, stopgap during the recent atmospheric rivers. This is pretty pathetic business practice. HSR staff were helpful, professional and patient with all my questions. We scheduled a time for the estimate. They evaluated my gutters and explained what could be done to repair/protect my gutters, provided a free estimate and gave me time to make my decision. I never felt as if I was asking too many questions or pressured to decide. The job took a day to complete. I also have a pigeon problem so part of the job was to clean the pigeon mess from the roof as well as the gutters. They removed and disposed of it too taking great care to keep it all from getting into my pool. They sent me the before and after pictures of everything so I could visualize what was happening. So far I am happy. Now just need to wait for the rain which, they assured me if something goes wrong to call them and they would come out to fix it. We needed or fitters cleaned because we knew it would be rainy season soon, and we found an advertisement for HSR. I booked an appointment for a day I knew I'd be home (Halloween). I had originally scheduled an appointment for one time (I can't remember what it was), but a couple days before the appointment, I got an email and a phone call stating that they had to change the time to 30 min later than what was originally scheduled and that if I had an issue, that I could call to reschedule. I had no issues, so 8 went with it. I was kinda nervous about them because of some of the reviews I read here on yelp, but decided to try them out. Day of: Craig and Alex showed up on time. I could tell right away that Craig was the experienced tech and as the appointment went on, he mentioned to me that Alex was in training. Without going into a lot of detail, they did what they came to do at the price they quoted me. They were both nice and professional. Craig and I got to talking and he even went up into my attic to look for signs of rodents at no extra charge. They presented me with information about my house and the different types of services they provide along with prices and at no time did I feel pressured to buy any services from them. They gave me time to look over some things and talk to my wife about some things and in the end, we also had them add something (I forget what they're called) to our gutters to stop the bigger things from going in. Lastly, we also asked them to clean our dryer exhaust. We're very pleased with the service we got from them. In the end, I just wished the whole thing didn't take so long because it kinda cut into my Halloween plans and I ended up rushing to get things done. However, this was my fault since I scheduled it on Halloween of all days. read more

I requested a repair to a gutter leak, and the crew (Craig, Nick and Rufino) was quick, courteous and seemingly perfect. However, when the next rains came, I noticed that the leak persisted. I emailed the team to request they come back for a repair, and even included a video of the remaining leak. I got no response, until I submitted a review on Google Maps. That got an instant reply, and eventually I emailed them again and got a reply. Tony came out right away and have (seemingly) fixed the problem for good. Even with the initial poor fix, I'd still give these guys 5 stars. It's only the email mis-fire that has me docking a star. read more

For a small single story house, they only did the front and one side of the house and charged a whopping 600 dollars. For the two area,they didn't even flush the gutters after cleaning the debris , didn't seal the joints either except for one small side of the house(they did small repair for that side), didn't even check for leaks. Only two down spouts were cleaned and for that they charged 600. I may not be satisfied with quality of work but they were very courteous and punctual. read more

Just bought a house and figured we should have the air ducts taken care of, had them come out for a quote. Come to find out, we had WAY MORE problems than dryer air ducts... we had a rat issue in our attic as well as poor insulation! Less than 1 week later this crew came out and knocked the entire job out in a day. I have about a million pictures of the entire process, including when they sanitized EVERYTHING. Very good work. We had previously had restoration work done in the crawl space of our house, which included cleanup from a leaking drain line as well as removal of mold. We wanted to have the air ducts cleaned and sanitized prior to starting our air conditioning after the restoration work was complete. They used a pet safe sanitizer in, however, we have a parrot, which can be very sensitive to any chemical. The supervisor was aware that birds have a small rapid respiratory system and recommended taking him out of the house until the work was complete. It was reassuring that he had this type of knowledge. Overall, great work they were very responsive to the situation we had at the time. read more

They came the following day And removed the insulation and put in R38 insulation in and while doing that they also sanitize the attic and rodent proofing in areas that were needed to be done. I responded to a coupon for gutter cleaning and was skeptical. I was surprised firstly by the administrative coordination and control over the appointment and then was very pleased with the quality of the work and the value. Because a portion of my gutters were rusting and they presented evidence of the issue, I opted for a more comprehensive service where they cleaned, reinforced and sealed the rusted sections and then cleaned and sealed the remaining gutter sections on the entire house. The crew was quite professional and diligent. I inspected their work and found it complete and "as advertised" . I will use them again and would recommend them to all who require these type services. 2 stars for Craig & Ernesto - but overall not a pleasant experience with these folks. Before you read on, check my profile and you'll see I'm not just another jackwagon leaving negative reviews on Yelp (nearly all if not all the reviews I write are 4-5 star experiences). I'm not one to usually complain either but HSR left me high and dry with a broken furnace for 7 nights when it was almost November. It was accidentally broken when they reinstalled the blower motor after cleaning, obviously it was fine, accidents happen and I was still relaxed. Craig phoned the owner Rafi to come take a look himself to see if he could remedy the furnace, to no avail. I was then verbally promised I'd be contacted within the next couple days to have a 3rd party company come fix the furnace. Furnace was broken on Tuesday. I wasn't contacted AT ALL. I called the following Monday, 6 days later. You see where I start getting upset? Rafi was in my living room at one point talking to me about unrelated matters as if we were friends, left a great first impression but unfortunately no follow through. I'm not a young punk I am young though. I know good business and this wasn't that. I asked for a discount off my service after what should've been a 2.5hr job turned into a 1 week job. I'm not a penny pincher, but it took a lot to get Rafi to discount me a measly $100. He was referencing the fact that he covered the cost of the furnace repair as if they weren't obligated to do so from the start, since they were the ones to break it initially! Anyways. Anyone who knows me knows I love supporting my town and putting money into Martinez. I have a lot of friends who probably could use vent cleaning in town and I can't recommend these guys for their first class service. This company came to clean my gutters today in response to an ad for $99. The guy had barely started his work and he was coming to me saying my gutters were rusted inside and were leaking. They are missing critical parts. He told me the initial cost to fix would be $1100. Then he talked to Customer Service and said they could do a special. I asked him to clean the gutters and that's it. My pool was clean when he arrived and now it is full of gutter debris. I was going to pay by check and instead wanted to use my credit card. He told me there would be an $8 fee. All of this was contrary to when I scheduled my appointment. I was told my yard would be clean and special care would be taken to make sure nothing went into the pool. I will not do business with this company again. read more

Yep, just like the others say this place seems like a super SCAM. I bought a Groupon for gutter cleaning, and the 2 sleazy guys that showed up had never even heard of Groupon. But they sure did try to sell us on every gutter service possible known to man. They said we could incur $40K in damage if we didn't spend $10K immediately (on god knows what). I said that's absurd; he said "let me see what I can do", pretended to talk on the phone and then told me $500. Um, what?! We ended up getting scammed into $150 to put "covers" on the gutter spouts. It took the one guy literally 12 seconds to do it, so I seriously doubt he did anything at all. They ended up cleaning our gutters using a used paper Pepsi cup since they couldn't use the leaf blower because the leaves were wet. Doesn't seem very professional at all. I haven't gotten up on the roof to look, but since it only took them less than 15 minutes (for a 2100sq ft house) I doubt they actually did much. STAY AWAY. ZERO STARS IF IT WERE POSSIBLE. read more

We had a huge rat problem in the attic. Dead bodies, feces and chewed up insulation. Clean up that is 10 years overdue. Very professional company. They gave us a time table for the arrival time, kept in touch and came on time. Maria (from the office) accompanied project manager and 2 workers. Maria took pictures of the ceiling and told us that they would be responsible for any damage. She exchange phone numbers with us and kept in touch throughout the project. Workers were extremely courteous, professional and honest, covered everything from floors to tv, to bed. They did not take any breaks, work very hard and did an amazing job cleaning, sanitizing and covering the openings. Maria came at the end of the job to make sure the job was well done.
