Owner Paul, communicated well through the course of several phone calls and set up the job. George came to my home on time in Lake Arrowhead , was polite, friendly, and wore paper booties to keep the carpets clean. He removed all existing hardware, masked off everything thoroughly, and properly vented the bathroom prior to spraying. After, he cleaned up all trash. The results are excellent and the tub looks brand new! As a side note, George volunteered to patch a couple screw holes in another bathroom. that's going above and beyond. Paul and his crew come highly recommended. read more

Paul is such a perfectionist which equals fabulous work. He got back to me with a very good quote and did a lot of extra little things to make the 2 bathrooms look brand new. Such a savings to have the tub and tile painted and repaired as opposed to taking them out and starting all over. I would recommend him if you need to redo your tile and tub read more

They did a respraying of my tub/shower combination and I am thrilled with the results. This house was built in 1969 and the main shower/tub combination were badly discolored. I didn't want to spend the money for a new shower/tub because they were only discolored but still worked. Paul did a wonderful job. Exceeded my expectations! He was on time, polite, worked hard, and kept me informed on the process. Can't say enough good things about him. Golden State Refinishing was referred to me by a friend and I will also refer them to anyone. Nice to have someone I can trust and that does a good job. In fact, I have hired him to redo my kitchen sink! read more

Outstanding work in every respect! A perfect experience from start to finish! Do not hesitate to book the job with Golden State Refinishing. Very hard in my experience to find a service so committed to "perfect"! read more

I had redone my entire house except for the tub/showers. I loved my shape and function of both my tub/showers but they were so old and discolored, just an eye sore compared to the rest of the house. Paul came in and sanded/sprayed both of them and they look brand new! He also installed new shower doors. (Pic below) I am so happy with his work and saved so much money not having to buy brand new ones. I am a Realtor and had seen his work at one of my clients, I thought she bought brand new tubs! So... I followed her lead and called him. I will be referring him out to all my clients. He is also a nice, honest, stand up human being. read more

I am very impressed with the quality of work from Golden State Refinishing! First of all, I don't let any person enter my home without first doing a little bit of research and asking lots of questions. I do this for personal safety reasons. I contacted Golden State Refinishing (GSR) and was very clear with the work I wanted done, they understood and quoted me with a very good price! I couldn't pass up a good deal. This past summer, I had a bad experience with a contractor (my aunt hired) who left me with some shoddy work. I hired GSR to fix everything that the previous person did not complete, or at least attempted to complete. Paul showed up on time which I'm very grateful for because I'm a very busy person and don't have time to waste. I picked Paul's brain and heavily relied on his expertise. He's a very pleasant person who enjoys his job. I never felt like he was annoyed by all the question I was asking him. He has and eye for attention to detail and I'm very impressed with the finished product. Now every time I enter my bathroom, it sparks joy and I love everything about it! The paint, the fixtures, the finishing. I am extremely satisfied with Paul's quality of work, and professionalism, that I've added this business as a permanent contact in my rolodex. I would definitely recommend Golden State Refinishing to all my friends and family. Thank you, Paul. read more

I spoke to Paul over the phone to request an estimate for my shower. After sending him a picture of my horrific tub and answering a few questions, he gave me the cost. He wasn't the first or last person I called for an estimate, but by far, he beat everyone's price and warranty. We set a date and a time for the job to get done. On the day of my appointment, not only did he show up as promised, but he was a few minutes early for our meeting. I've dealt with other companies in the past for home projects where the company is inconsiderate of a customer's time. But not in this case! Paul was professional at all times. He is a perfectionist and took his time to make sure our shower looked new. I am pleased with the outcome, and I recommend any looking to get their showers or sinks done to call Paul. We will be be calling Paul to handle our second shower and kitchen soon. read more

Just bought our house and needed both our showers refurbished. Paul was efficient, reliable and a perfectionist when it came to his work. He was easy to communicate with. He showed up on time and got the job done within the time frame he estimated. As I write this review, we have used our showers for about one month after Paul has refurbished them. We have not had any issues and have not noticed any blemishes or imperfections. I would definitely recommend Golden State Refinishing to anyone looking for a quick, great and affordable facelift for their showers. read more

If there was a way to give Paul at Golden State Refinishing a "six star" review, I absolutely would! I reached out to Golden State Refinishing to inquire on assistance in my home. Paul was very professional and explained his process thoroughly. Paul was available so he drove out the same day. He treated my bath tub and made it look brand new! As I was highly impressed with his level of work, I called him back and he was able to color match and paint my bathroom. He patched holes that my children were rough with and left the room looking beautiful. I have called Paul back for other assistance in my home as he has fixed my AC unit twice, he has fixed pluming under my kitchen sink and has helped me with a broken toilet lid. There are no words to describe how thankful and appreciative I am for Paul and his level of expertise. Paul is committed to ensuring customer satisfaction and the highest level of customer service. It shows he is passionate about his work and he is fully committed to it. He is very knowledgeable and had a very reasonable price. I truly admire his character, his strong back and his attention to detail. You could tell he cares a great deal about his customers and that's aside from his work which is spot-on perfect! This is precisely why I will keep calling Golden State Refinishing for my future needs. Thank you Paul for all the work you have done in my home. You are amazing! read more

Hired Paul to reglaze my tub, it seemed fine but man, only 3 years later, started noticing chips, now chunks are coming loose. I got a second opinion on what my options are, the other company said he did a horrible job, now it's harder to fix because the layer he glazed may come off anytime. I have 50/50 chance to have a good finished product. This is supposed to last 10 plus years, beware of this business!!! read more

To be able to have trust and work with someone who is courteous and responsive is very rare and much appreciated. That's why I will always call or will recommend Paul if there is a need for painting for refinishing. He is super professional and communicates well so that I never need to guess. He is diligent and ensured that everything is covered and prepped before the actual paint work. I am so happy with my tub as it's looking brand new and beautiful again. I will definitely use Paul again in the future. Thanks Paul! read more

Paul Lujan did a fantastic job resurfacing my double sinks. He was able to match the color perfectly!

Let me start by saying, this is seriously the coolest thing ever! Paul responded to my request very quickly, he came out promptly for an estimate of the work and he was very reasonable! We needed our 30 yr old tub and surround along with two old counters refinished before selling our house. They were all yellow and gross looking and WOW they look amazing now!! The overall process took a little less than 1.5 days, everything was taped off and cleaned up after, and he was able to put our new faucets and shower head on as well. The refinishing also comes with a 5 yr warranty too! Paul was very nice and professional, we are very happy with our results and will definitely recommend!! :) read more

Paul did a really nice job refinishing our 20+ year old bathtub and two sinks. The tub and sinks were in descent condition but were old and outdated, they were an ugly yellow color, I suppose it was popular back in the 1970's. However, after I found Paul on CraigsList, he came the very next day, was clean and polite and did a great job refinishing them... they all came out a beautiful white color! Great job Paul, and great prices! read more

I absolutely recommend this company and the owner Paul! I had Paul come out and re-glaze the bathtub, bath room sink, and kitchen sink in my son's house. As you can see from the pictures below, he did a fantastic job! Paul was very professional, personable, and very thorough in his job. He even redid a part of the tub and kitchen sink because he was not happy with the initial outcome. During his work, he discovered other issues and assisted with them as he was able and recommended how to fix those he could not complete. If you need to have re-glazing done in your home, do not call anyone else...except Paul! You will not be disappointed! read more

Completely flaked. Did not show up for appointment or return calls/texts. Do not recommend.

If I can give Golden State Refinishing/ Paul, the owner -5 stars, I would. Before hiring Paul to refinish our tub, I had 5 other quotes and did a comprehensive summary on quality, method, recommendations, warranty and price. After talking to Paul to schedule an appointment, he seemed really professional and friendly. He came earlier than our appointment time on January 26 and got right to work. That was the extent of his professionalism. On the scheduled day, he didn't finish the job on the first appointed time and had to come later that evening, minor detail. Then after he was done, we noticed a 2 inch paint drip on the outside of the tub. We had to schedule another time for him to sand it out. Once the tub was actually dry and able to be in use, we noticed a long paint drip that's 60 inches that literally goes around half of the inside tub. The bottom of the tub is also gritty, not smooth at all. There are also potions of the paint job that has groves in them instead of being a smooth finish. We scheduled another time for him to fix the paint drip and on the scheduled time, he never showed. So far, we have had 3 "scheduled" appointments and he doesn't follow through. He didn't respond to our text or phone call when We waited 2 hours from the scheduled appointment time until we tried calling him and texting him. Since the first day of Paul refinishing the tub, he has done a HORRIBLE job. It has been over a month since he refinished the tub and he still has not responded to this day, March 6. As a new and small business owner, I would think that quality would be the most important thing as he builds his businesses reputation. It is un fortunate to be deceived by a business that just wants money with no regard to quality or professionalism. I would never recommend Golden State Refinishing to anyone. read more

Paul recently re-glazed one of my rentals in Colton. He was very polite and professional. My tenant was moving in the beginning of the month, so I needed the work done ASAP. Never had to file a report,Paul has made good on his word. He had had some setbacks (as have we all) and had some thngs that were out of his control. After looking around for other bath tub repairman in the area and being stood up on appointments with others, I gave this place a call. After hours Paul returned my call and explained to me his entire process. I sent picture of the crack I had and within 5 mins he had a quote back to me and was ready to set a date. He was even willing to come out on the 4th of July but I insisted he didn't have too. The following Tuesday he should up and even called ahead of time to let me know he was on his way. This guy understands that customers and customer service come first and he wouldn't be in business if it wasn't for customers. He fixed the crack and the soft spots in the floor did an awesome job at blending the fiberglass repair with the floor. After that he spent a good 4 hrs in prep alone for the reglazing. The finished product is proof of his attention to detail work that he preformed. His prices were very good and his work was even better he took a 30 shower and made it look new again. His 5yr warranty made it an easy decision for us to choose him. I have already recommended him and his work to two other people who have rental homes in need of work. So don't mess around and be a fool go with Golden State Refinishing and you will not be disappointed! read more

Paul.... I will never allow you back in my house to repair the crappy work you did, I had to pay a legitimate professional to fix your work.. When my bathtub started to flake and chip I did call you back two times and left my name and number and you never called me back so please don't project an image of a responsible person who has a desire to make things right. It may interest those who may be interested in using your services to know that there are other people like me out there that got crappy service and you never came back and made it right, you just turned and walked away. It may comfort you to know that I blame myself for hiring you, I saw the other bad reviews and gave you a shot anyway. After being ripped off by you I did a little research and found out that you have changed your company name more than once in an effort to try and outrun bad reviews and potential lawsuits... Ive reported you to the Better Business Bureau and several other blogs and will continue to do so. read more

Honesty & INTEGRITY are core values that we should all strive for in life, but as a small business owner, you HAVE to have. Paul, the owner/operator possesses neither of these core values..... that's why I'm compelled to tell my story in the hopes that someone else will not have to deal with his lack of talent and professionalism. Here's what happened: hired Paul to do my bathtub in one of my properties. Initially, no issues. Work finished and guaranteed for a year. Several months after job, the resin in the tub started chipping away from drain. Contacted Paul, who requested pictures. Sent him pictures. He said "no problem".... gave some textbook excuse as to why, and said it would take an hour or so to fix. ......Great! 7-10 calls later. ...2 no shows with me, and 2 no shows with my tenant, who took the time out of his day to be there. Tub still looks like crap. Will have to hire another to fix. ...I will be taking Paul to small claims to pay for it. ...... assuming he is still in business. Paul.... you cannot treat your customers this way. If you are going to guarantee your work, stand by it. Do not hire this man for anything! !!!!!! If one person is distracted away from reading this, than it served it's purpose. ZERO stars! read more

I am going to give Paul one star for the bathtub, but that's it. I had to try several times to get in touch with him, and the morning of our first appointment he canceled. Zit was fine because I was sick. On the day of the appointment, he had to leave at 3:00 and asked if he could come back and get his stuff, that was fine. A few weeks later I called to get the countertops done and we setup another appointment. Not only did Paul not show up, he has never called, despite many attempts at reaching him. Maybe he has so much business that my $150 countertops wasn't good enough. I have never written a yelp review, but his unprofessionalism was shocking. It's unfortunate because I had a lot of business for him. DO NOT use him, because he might be cheaper, but you have to chase after him or not be able to get in touch with him at all. Unprofessional and irresponsible. read more

I hate to do this, but I need to warn people. Paul is a really nice guy and he returned all my phone calls/texts and came on time. Unfortunately if you're looking for quality work, this isn't the company to go with. I had two shower/tubs and a vanity done. All 3 look horrible with fish eyeing, drips, thin coats, debris that dried in the finish, and even peeling already all around the drains and bottom of shower/tub enclosure. I had this done 2 months ago in May 2015 and I'm so sad. Paul was nice enough for a small fee to "fix" the errors, but they came out worse. Not to mention that when he left my house and was "done" he left all his trash here like soda cans, bottles, food wrappers, tape, cups of water still filled with paint water, and worst of all razor blades in the carpet. I have 2 children under the age of 4 that could have been hurt. Sorry Paul, but you need to clean up after yourself and retrain in your field because this was really bad. read more

I hired Paul to refinish our rental tub. At first, the tub looked great but within two weeks, the tub began to peel. Paul returned to refinish it but asked for another $85 because my tenant had used a suction cup matt. After a few conversations, Paul fixed the problem for free. Moments after he left, my tenant called and complained that there was white residue on everything in the bathroom; cherry cabinets, walls, etc. I called Paul and he promised to come back but I never heard from him again. read more

We own a rental and I thought that the prior tenants had destroyed the bath tub. I called Paul at Golden State and explained the damage. He assured me that he could repair it. I was skeptical, but gave him the job. He showed up right on time and was very careful about making sure that his process didn't affect any of the other fixtures in the bathroom. When he left, I was very impressed at how good the tub looked. But the story doesn't end there. This was during the very cold spell we were having and there was no heat in the vacant unit. For some reason, the finish did not set up correctly and started to run. I called Paul immediately and he came right back out and redid the entire job. Now the tub looks perfect and no one would ever know that the tub was virtually wrecked previously. He really can make anything look great! I would wholeheartedly recommend Golden State Refinishing to anyone versus replacing an existing tub or shower enclosure. read more
