Marco Romani is a consummate professional and a talented artisan. Working with him was a joy. He is friendly, conscientious, and has a very-hard-working, trustworthy team. He always checked in to make sure we were happy with the job and his crew, and you can tell he genuinely loves bringing life and beauty back to neglected wood. (And ours had really taken a weather/water beating! I could tell it hurt his heart.) Marco oversaw every detail of our three-month interior/exterior wood historical craftsman restoration, always personally doing the finished/detailed work. (Sorry!!) Every day the worksite was completely, impeccably cleaned up, so we could use our space. The workers arrived on time and worked full, honest days. (Marco was often the last to leave, working longer to make sure everything was right.) As a dog owner, having workmen you can trust is HUGE. Marco's team always made sure to keep our gate closed, threw away trash, and even put up paper to block my dog's view through the window so he wouldn't bark/be agitated by these men in the backyard - EVERY DAY! I am very grateful to them for this extra kindness. Whenever Marco and his team found something else that needed fixing, they repaired it without cost or fuss, replacing an old latch on a window or a burnt-out high-up bulb. They even installed black pegs my father cut to replace some that had fallen out of our woodwork, re-staining them with ink to make them pop. Coverings were put down to make sure there was no spillage or mess, and when our windows needed work, the team removed them in the morning and replaced them at night - every day! Decent work by a good guy. He tries hard to work on your project. Be sure to know the complexity of your project beforehand as this work can cost up to $500 per 4 hour work period. My project was charged $1,500 for approximately 10 hours of work over a 2.5 day period, but in the end I couldn't achieve the results I wanted as it was too challenging. I promised Marco that I would write a review months ago; however, I never got around to it until now. After reading all his great reviews, all I can do is echo what has already been said and to confirm the reviews are all true based upon my experience with Marco. My projects entailed staining French doors and casement windows (on a 1911/1912 Craftsman home), repairing and re-staining the wood footboard of a sleigh bed (due to a combination of a 127-lb dog scratching and chewing), and finish reparation on an antique French paint inlay side table that belonged to my Grandmother which I thought was beyond saving. Who is Marco? He is a professional craftsman and artist who not only takes immeasurable pride in his work buts put part of himself - his love and passion - into his work. He IS part of the finished product. When people talk about someone having respect for you and your home and your stuff...this is Marco. His devotion for his craft and admiration for all that is wood is readily apparent in the outcome of whatever job he completes. While the staining and finish of our doors and windows is like glass (and is very impressive), I am even more happy with my sleigh bed and Grandmother's table.
