The BEST yogurt in Southern California PERIOD. It literally tastes like soft ice cream. And the staff is awesome too! Just ask for a sample if you're undecided. They're happy to help. And it's so I expensive too!!! They've been open for at least 30+ years, and back in the day, I used to bribe my friend to take me there when I would go visit her. I live at least 20 minutes from there now, and I still make the trek. My mistake was turning my grandkids onto their amazing yogurt (esp the "just chocolate"), bcuz now when they visit me, I gotta take them out now!! I jest tho, it was one of my better decisions actually - telling my g-babies read more

The young people working behind the counter are ALWAYS smiling and welcoming. The last time I went the young man's name was Ethan! They have all been consistently friendly. The product is EXCELLENT and the store is clean. Parking is easy and there is a small area out on the sidewalk where a family or friends can gather to enjoy their delicious yogurt treat!!! Thank you! As this business is a franchise; I highly commend this franchisee for instilling an obvious POSITIVE and inviting culture. I am and will remain a regular! read more

Food: 4 Service: 5 Ambiance: 3 We always love stopping by Golden Spoon for dessert when we're in the area after dinner. It's a small shop, but it's always clean and tidy, and the service is consistently spectacular. It's never overly busy, and even when there's a short line, it moves quickly. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always serve with a smile, which really makes the experience even better. I love that you can mix flavors and customize your toppings exactly how you want them. They layer everything so nicely, and it always looks as good as it tastes. The frozen yogurt is light, refreshing, and delicious, the perfect sweet treat without feeling too heavy. There are only a few seats inside and a few outside, so it's definitely more of a quick stop kind of place rather than somewhere to hang out for a long time. Still, I highly recommend this spot if you're craving delicious frozen yogurt paired with truly great customer service. read more

love coming here and getting the quart of tart froyo for 11 bucks!! i enjoy their tart it's definitely creamy but i think it would be perfect if it was just a tiny bit more tart. also if u get toppings dont get them on the side u get less read more

My sister and I love coming here together for an after-dinner dessert. I love the consistency and richness of their froyo, especially compared to the pay-by-weight places. The mini size is a good portion for us and they give you a LOT of the topping you choose, both on the bottom of the cup and around the top. Their service is fast and friendly. They even have a rewards program (free mini after 10 visits, I think?). The interior is quite small with minimal seating, and it can get cramped with people waiting in line, but there are benches outside/around the plaza where you can sit. Highly recommend! read more

Came here for an afternoon treat with my little babe. We both love tart but unfortunately the machine was not working so we settled for the old fashioned vanilla, 7/10. Ethan was very friendly and attentive, he definitely made our experience a 10/10! He greeted every customer with a smile and such welcoming attitude! There are two small tables inside but it is not too spacious. There are also some seatings outside. Hopefully their tart will be back on the menu soon! Thanks again for being awesome, Ethan! read more

Kris has great customer service, nice to see him every time. Wettest in the west. Great manager.

Their service was great and ambiance is friendly and welcoming. The only thing we thought about the food that we wish portions should have been a little more. Very small size cups. read more

Every time I come here, the staff is super friendly and willing to help try any flavor with no issues. 10/10 would go everyday if possible lol. I love the toppings at the bottom then all around the top! read more

I have been a huge golden spoon fan for years and I was so excited to see that there was one in this shopping center while on our way to vons. It is a pretty small location but the service was great, they really loaded on the toppings this time which is always a plus. I know it is not the most popular thing to get but I love getting plain tart with cheesecake bites on a hot day because it is super refreshing! My fiancé went with the strawberry with cheesecake bites and a cherry topping. This will for sure become a regular sweet treat spot for me! read more

Service is always friendly here! To me, this is the most important part! They welcome you in and offer you samples. The yogurt is yummy and flavorful. I enjoy the peanut butter with peanut butter cup toppings (totally over the top!) and also the vanilla with cheese cake toppings. Amazingly, toppings are still $1.10 for a mini (same as two years ago!). The ambience is causal and there is little seating but come enjoy on a summer day and sit outside as there are several benches around the area. read more

Excellent little froyo place in Rancho Penasquitos. They do things a little differently than your typical Menchies or other froyo places and don't charge by weight, but you can pick 2+ flavors (a mini comes with 2 flavors + 2 toppings, which was the perfect portion!) I kind of liked this better because you don't have every grubby little hand touching all of the handles and toppings and things You don't really find prices this decent anymore !!! Great for a little froyo fix on a warm day Kris has excellent customer service read more

Our favorite place! We have been coming for years with our kids. Best customer service - they even remember our orders!! Toppings and flavors are great - highly recommend this place. read more

They do not answer the phone, and their website does not list the daily flavors. Because I live 20 minutes away from Golden Spoon, my only recourse is to move closer to RP or RB or to start my own shop, and neither is cost-effective. read more

Been coming here for over 10 years. Best fro yo in town, excellent local place that has friendly staff that make it feel like visiting friends. Shoutout Kris! read more

We stopped by on a Friday afternoon for a sweet treat for the kids. I forgot about this location and how it's hidden in this busy shopping center. This location is very tiny, probably enough for fit about 6 customers at one time. We walked in and there were a couple parties ahead of us. The service is quick and people that come here seem to be regulars and know what they want. It had been years since we frequented a GS since many have closed. The flavors are limited but the toppings are plentiful. I chose a mini coffee with Oreo cookies. My kids chose a mini chocolate with chocolate sprinkles and mini vanilla with sprinkles. My husband got a tart with no toppings. Tax is already included in the prices. If you choose a toppings, make sure you read the fine print because you can get up to 2 toppings if you add one to your order. I believe you are able to get a couple flavors of froyo as well which I totally forgot to do with mine. A mini is just enough and we enjoyed our visit. The young guys who worked there were friendly and inviting. There is only 2 tables inside with 4 chairs. There is one bench outside GS where you can enjoy your treat. Ample parking and located next to Knotty Barrel (separate building from the grocery store). read more

I haven't been to Golden Spoon in many years and I'm happy to say that it's just as good as I remembered it. The froyo is the perfect consistency and they give you a good amount of portioning for the sizes. I love that they put toppings on both the top and bottom so you get the perfect amount. The staff were very friendly and welcoming which made the experience even better. read more

Golden Spoon - Chocolate malt with strawberry banana. Topped with strawberries and cheesecake bites - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - San Diego, California

I'm only posting this for awareness....DOGS (unless trained to be SERVICE ANIMALS SHOULD NOT BE IN ANY STORES ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT SERVE FOOD FOR HEALTH REASONS). You have a VERY CLEAR SIGN stating NO DOGS yet this dog was inside the store! When asked if that person claimed if their dog was a "Service Animal" the person working said no, that he doesn't mind dogs being in the store as long as they behave, which I can understand, however the Health Dept would not. It was hot outside, but there were two people, they did arrive in a car, one person could have easily sat in the car with the dog, or do what I did, leave the dog in the car with the air conditioning running...the parking spaces are RIGHT IN FRONT..nothing is going to happen to the car.... I love Golden Spoon and hope they use this as a training opportunity, b/c what if I had worked or work for the Health Dept and saw this "DOG" in the store...not a trained SERVICE ANIMAL, just a dog....that is a HUGE violation and fine...... *It was NOT the manager working............ read more

Came here for a sweet treat and I was pleasantly surprised. There is a good variety for froyo flavors and they change them up. I like that there is an option for toppings included in the price. The prices are super cheap. I got cake batter flavor and enjoyed it. read more

Myself and 3 of my friends went in this evening because we all wanted ice cream. So happy we went here. Salted Caramel with peanut butter cup topping is by far my favorite! I know this is froyo not ice cream so this is a healthy bonus because it is still soooo good. Another thing, they don't scrimp on the toppings. I couldn't ask for anything better. read more

I've been here twice in a week. My daughter and I are officially addicted. The same guy Chriworks there day and night. He probably has a bed in the back. This guy Chris helped us out both times. You know that feeling when an interaction with a customer service rep makes your day a little brighter? Well, that's what "Kris with a K" did at Golden Spoon witho his charming personality. Friendly staff who gave us plenty of samples . It's not a self serve type of place . They dispense the soft serve and toppings . We loved the abundant toppings . Especially the steam trays of warm sauces (fudge , caramel , etc). We shared a mini raspberry soft serve with almonds and chocolate toppings . Tasted light and refreshing . There's one table inside with three chairs . Decently air conditioned little spot . Would revisit when in area - read more

cute little froyo spot! the workers are really nice and I like the flavors. I would get the mini size because they fill it up to the top.

A descent place to go to located in PQ by the Vons. My kids loved the salted caramel with Health Bar on top. Good prices, good options, I personally just didn't care for it as much as my kids. I love the fact that you can get a big tub and go half and half with the flavors of your choice, but I do feel they need to mix up their options a little bit. While my kids enjoy almost anything desert-wise, I will still come here, but I won't go out of my way to visit. Keep in mind there are other places in the strip mall where you can get desert, so I recommend trying them all. Definitely worth a shot if you have a craving for some desert and if you're in the area!! read more

amazing service from both Julia and Jam! theyre both super sweet and very friendly! 10/10 would recommend going

The best customer service!! They are always so friendly. And I love that they always have a dairy free option!!

Peanut butter. Salted caramel. Vanilla. You can't go wrong with any combo of these flavors. Nuts are also a must for your topping choice. You can thank me later :) I got a mini cup of salted caramel. It was good...but would've been better if I balanced it out with a second flavor. (My friend for the peanut butter and salted caramel topped with almonds....it was delish) read more
