I hate leaving bad reviews but hope to give others the opportunity to pick somewhere else :/ I won't nitpick everything that went wrong & will just get straight to the point. Charged $70 for a full set of acrylic for my daughter worth no more than 30 bucks & my gel manicure left my nails uneven & bendable with a terrible paint job I should've stuck with magic nails in fitchburg.. longer drive but cheaper & well worth it. UPDATE!! Because this merchant chose to act so unprofessional, rather than just own up to their awful service, I am including more photos of their work. The pink paper was my "receipt" the "her" is referring to my daughters charge (the $70) the $12 charge was for the manicure my 4 yr old granddaughter had to wait in a chair for while the owner of the salon had the other employee give her (the owner) a pedicure & the last charge was for my nails .. 2 of which broke in the 1st few days because the polish didn't harden. This is probably because my nail techs UV was held together with duct tape. SECOND UPDATE! This lady needs to stop. NO I am not working for whatever boy, NO I do not want money or whatever nonsense you are claiming, YES I most certainly was a customer at your salon (you know damn well we were there) YES those are pictures of our nails after leaving your salon, YES that is the pink paper your nail tech wrote our bill on & yes you are starting to look psychotic continuously writing on my page that I am a liar & trying to get something out of you lol people need to read your older reviews that all got one star.. are they lying too? just stop now please. My toes are cuter than yours. I have to tell you I love this salon. You know how you go into a nail salon and are overcome with the smell of nail polish remover or whatever that smell is? This place smells fresh and not overwhelming in any way. I don't get manicures but I have had 3 pedicures there now. I get the spa pedicure for $60 they give you a true spa treatment for an hour. And then they paint your toes. For real! This time was more because it was gel and a detailed design of course. I paid $90 plus tip for my Tigger toes. You can pick your scent (I chose peppermint) and that includes a sugar scrub, a hot stone massage, a paraffin wax treatment, I swear I got 3 massages with lotion and two hot towel sessions. I told Annie she is my new best friend. (Please check with the salon for complete details I'm not 100% of what it entails) I don't go often so maybe my feet just take that long lol They have lower levels too if you don't want or need the whole spa treatment. She told me yesterday the winter is very hard. Sometimes they have 1 person all day. I get that. We're not wearing flip flops and sandals so who cares about our toes. As a guy going to a Nail Salon is not one of my favorite things to do. After moving up to the Merrimack Valley 6 months ago I had a hard time finding a place similar to the one I went to while living on the North Shore. I am so glad I found Annie at Golden Nails. She is patient, meticulous and professional all at an affordable price. The Salon is intimate and comfortable unlike the places with 10 technicians who hustle you in and out. read more

The worst full set I've ever gotten. I asked for a coffin shape, and this is what I received. The nails are crooked, different shapes, and lengths. When I pointed this out to my tech, she made a halfhearted attempt to adjust them and then seemingly gave up. It seemed she didn't know how to use the tool that shaves down the powder. She cut my multiple times while using the shaving tool (the worst of the cuts shown here). I paid $50 to spend an hour and a half having my hands destroyed. read more

I hate leaving reviews but I had to this time. I have a hard time trusting people doing my nails. I have not gotten my nails done for some time now and I've been wanting to do them so I thought I would try this place out. I asked for COFFIN shape nails. And this is what I got. My appointment was at 3:30 I left at 6:30. I did however get a pedicure. Which i would day was nice...... However my nails? They're super Lumpy I left with glue all over my fingers I can still see my regular nails on the sides and the guy didn't even do anything with my cuticles. He kept checking and kept filing and I hate being rude so I didn't want to say anything but I could tell he did not know what he was doing. He kept telling me that because I'm getting a full set it takes a long time. I've been getting my nails done for 20-something years. I know how it goes LOL. Anyways I swallowed the money paid the guy and left and then looked at my nails when I got in the car. I have been going to Golden Nails for a while now and have been nothing short of impressed. An older man and woman own the place; the man is extremely friendly and the woman is very helpful. I gave them a 1 because you can't give a zero. This is the WORST nail place I have ever gone to. I mistakenly went in there for a manicure and didn't want to turn back out after realizing it wasn't the place I was looking for. First she pulled on an ingrown toenail, which I always have, and she injured me so bad it was oozing after for days, and 2 months later it is still swollen. The nail polish just wiped right off because she didn't wipe the oil off. Cindy was the person who gave me a pedicure and she kept bragging about her being the cheapest and kept asking if I was coming back. Skip this place it's horrible. read more

Was my first time here. Appt was going great till I couldn't make up my mind on weather to get French or color. So I decided on a purple. It was a lighter purple and I prefer darker if I go with a solid color. She did one nail and I told her that I didn't care for it and she said let's do a second coat, well before it knew it the whole hand was done. I then told her again that I didn't like it she then told me that I was a difficult customer. Hmmm, I'm the paying customer so I should be satisfied with the end result. Never again will I go there. I was in need of a gel manicure after breaking two nails. My regular nail tech was out of town and decided to give this place a a try on my way home. I will only give two stars because Tin was very polite. Otherwise, my nails were filed and shaped looking in different direction, kept asking Tin to reshape but it was obvious that he does not seem to understand that this is more than a mass production job. The work was done sloppy, the french wrinkled under the heat, I expected it to get fixed, no mention of it. I gave up, went home with a lousy job, cheap looking, run of the mill work at the same price other salons will do a nice nail job. Curiously enough, he was very satisfied with the job he had performed never mind asking me if I was happy. The woman that appears to be the owner or manager came out from the back room once to smile and disappeared. I wished she had checked on him, his ability to do the work and my satisfaction. The place was empty when I came in, then a customer with an appointment came in and was told that her nail tech was home but was come in soon. No, I will not be back. The job was less than acceptable. I am a professional, pay for professional work and expect a job well done for my hard earned money. read more

Family owned and very friendly! They remember their clients and their preferences. Hand massage is AWESOME. I moved away from the area, but went back to treat myself to the hot stone pedicure because it's that wonderful. Been here twice now and both times were disappointing. First time, a man did my pedicure and proceeded to cut too much nail and the cuticle, which really hurts. After I told him repeatedly that it hurt, he kept doing it and obviously didn't know what he was doing. He then got mad at me for telling him he was hurting me. Thinking this was a fluke and other people would be better, I returned yesterday for a pedicure and was put with another lady who didn't know what she was doing! I got a spa pedicure and not once did I get a foot massage. She spend the entire time massaging my calves and rubbing the skin off w/ an exfoliate (again, had to ask her to stop b/c it was hurting). At the end, she slathered oil on my legs, then put my pants down over it - I ran my hand on my legs and they were coated w/ this really heavy oil - gross! I will not be back. Nails look ok, but calluses are still pretty big and I really wanted the massage. The oil and products that got on my pants were the icing on the cake. read more

Got my first ever manicure here today. In a nutshell, the experience was not very satisfactory in terms of quality of service, personal hygiene and attention to work done. It is an all Asian staff with very little to no English communication skills. They seemed extremely rushed even though the place was empty except for my aunt who was also there with me. It was not close to their closing time either so never really understood the hurry. We were literally a minute late and she asks if we called and when we said yes, she said "oh you late but ok OK" (as if we kept her waiting for a long time and she had to move appointments around, which was not the case) . That was strike one. Second was when the lady sat me down and immediately started working on my nails. No questions on what I wanted or expected. I still told her I needed a flat straight cut to which she said "that later that later" . To me it felt like mechanical work where she was just doing what she had to do, which is somehow get her job done by cutting the nails. There were no gloves used. The process itself took about 10 mins max and was no where near perfection, let alone even a well shaped nail job. Some nails were OK but the others were shaped odd. Did not feel a sense of care and gentleness during cutting and it was done way too fast for it to get in any better shape. The filing and cuticle remover (whatever that's called) did not come sterilized and the filer had nail dust from previous use. The main door to the place was also kept open all the time for all the people walking outside to see what was happening inside. All in all, definitely not the first time experience I was looking forward to. In the end, she did ask a customary " all OK?" when I was waiting for it to get over so I could wash my hands with soap to feel clean. I'm sure people have had good experience here also, but I am sure never to return to this place which gave me an OK cut that I could have done myself at home. read more

Stopped by on my way to Lowell - easy access, right off of 495. Had my nails done here a few weeks ago. Went in an hour before they closed, but they were very welcoming. Had my nails done in a jiffy - did my hands first and then when one was starting on my pedicure, they finished painting my fingernails. So nice and really speedy - great paint job, it's about a month later and my toes aren't chipped! Will definitely go back when I'm in the area. read more

So disappointed. I called ahead for a gel mani and a pedi. The salon was full, very busy when I got there. My tech, one of the owners, rushed her current client out of the chair for me telling her I had an appointment - I was uncomfortable about that ! Then she did my gel mani before my pedi, setting me up to leave with wet toenails. My 10 fingernails were 10 different shapes. The polish was sheer and when I asked for a third coat was told it was an up charge. The worst was that she used the damn nail drill on my toes and their cuticles! Cut me in FOUR places. So disappointed. Went a couple of times in Spring/early Summer and had a great nail tech, I think her name was Tina. I asked about her but they told me she moved but wouldn't tell me where - of course, understandable - but I won't go back now. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. Most unprofessional experience I have ever had!! I was a customer of theirs for several years when I lived in town. 5 years ago we moved and today I was in Chelmsford so I decided to get my nails done. Just a simple gel mani. Well the man who worked on me (Tin) destroyed my nails, literally ripped two off and didn't file them or buff them. My cuticles are a mess! At this point I said, "please let me pay you for removal" because if he cannot file the nails properly or cut cuticles without shredding them I'm thinking the polish will be awful too. Well he stands up and starts yelling at me!! The owner tells me, "$7, $10, no $17!!" as he spoke to her at which point I said "I would love it if you finished them, it's just not going well." I certainly wasn't going to pay $17 to leave with nails that looked worse than when I went in. He never filed or buffed them but the "$17" was apparently for a gel removal and manicure, which I did not get. While I was waiting for her he comes back to the counter and starts screaming at me. I told her that I was uncomfortable and was leaving. I was on the verge of tears. They're talking about me in another language, he is screaming in between and she finally decided to charge me $10 and I obviously didn't tip. I feel like once he found out I wasn't from there and wouldn't be a regular customer he didn't try. I would have thought that the fact that I was a customer of theirs for many years would've made a difference but it did not. I am still blown away by what happened there, just so uncomfortable. You never expect to be screamed at like that and to not have the owner stop it. Instead she and the other woman there gave me dirty looks while he yelled and pointed his finger at me. read more
