This "restaurant" should be ashamed of labeling themselves a Jamaican restaurant, the food just did not look appetizing, everything looked black and burnt, I want to know which blind cook is back there pouring all of the browning all over the food, to make it look like that, everything I looked at was just depressing, but being hungry and not in the mood for fast food I opted to try them. Never again, no shade to non Jamaicans, or Jamaicans who are not used to eating good food, as they will find this no doubt edible, and to have such a name where the food itself has its own legacy, whoever owns this franchise need to turn in their food badge. I don't put too much stock into the consistency of GK's food from day to day, much less across restaurants. However, recently moved out to Conyers from Lawrenceville and wanted some curry goat. I was surprised to see there was a location in Conyers because I normally go to the location at Stonecrest when I didn't live on this side of metro Atlanta. The food at the Conyers location was absolutely terrible...even for Golden Krust!!! I bought a curry goat plate that was just majority fat and bones. It was disgusting!!! I thought the gravy looked a little thick, but figured it was one of those inconsistencies that happens normally across their restaurants. Got home to eat my meal and the gravy was just piles of gelatinous fat and bones. I expect to have fat and bones with goat, but not like this. It was like no one even bothered to trim the goat meat of the excess fat as most of the restaurants do. There was a weird smell coming from the food as well. I don't know if they didn't wash the meat before cooking. The rice and peas wasn't good either. The veggies and plantain were fine, but surely you can't mess those up. This food was absolutely trash at best. I will not waste my money at this location again. I will make the drive to Stonecrest instead. PS... The mannish water was bland as well... No salt, no spice, no nothing! Smh!!! read more

The food is awesome but the staff is terrible. I came here at around 4 to pick up my USUAL king fish, but it wasn't prepared yet & I really had a taste for it, I was in a rush somewhere so I left the restaurant called in & ordered it. When I came back to simply pick up the bag of food and pay for it, it was 2 single minutes after closing. they ignored me until I tapped the window. The lady wouldn't let me tell her the food was already made she just kept cleaning & telling me no. I've called in before and they've forgotten my order and their general rudeness for people that are new or have never ate Caribbean food before need to be worked on. I've put up with their disgusting customer service until today. I've worked in restaurants I understand closing means closed, but 2 minutes after when all you have to do is pass me the bag and y'all are just going to throw out food I had to custom order cause they're not ready ? Lost a returning customer. Next time at least open the door or acknowledge my presence. The food should've been done. read more

I used to love going to Golden Krust but recently I went there and all their prices has changed. They said they compare the prices to New York prices. I think that is totally ridiculous. I got a small oxtail plate and a large curry goat plate my price was $31 dollars. I only got 4 oxtails on the plate a bunch of rice the cabbages was not available so they gave me 4 plantins. The macaroni on the side used to be $0.99 cents now there's $3.99 and you don't get half as much as you used to get. I will now be going to Karen's Caribbean restaurant on Salem Road her prices are cheaper and she's give you more food for your buck. read more

I'm all about customer service. The workers did not lift their heads to acknowledge me when I walked in. I walked over to the area under the sign that said order here and they continued to do whatever the were doing as if no one else existed. Finally after about 5 minutes and just as I was about to leave one of them made eye contact. I'm thinking OK she'll say something, but hell to the no. I had to ask if they had beef patties. She says no. I ask if they will be making any. She looks back at the oven and says yes in about 5 minutes. I'm thinking what's wrong with these motherf$ckers at this point. She then walks away and another mf walks out and just looks at me. I ask if I can have two beef patties and she turns and walks back into the kitchen. After about three minutes she walks out and says, "two beef patties? ". I say yes, she fixes them and puts them next to the other mf standing at the register. I pull out my debit card to pay only to notice a little hand written note taped to the register stating that in order to use your debit card you have to purchase at least $5 worth of whatever these numb brains were serving.The patties were $4.39. I had no cash and politely told the lady who looked like she had just caught her husband cheating with another man, sorry no cash. Then I walked out all the while thinking that was just 20 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Stay away, far away if you value customer service. read more

I had to try it... unfortunately this was just another chain restaurant. I'm not use to chain Caribbean and walking in I thought ok maybe the nicest inside I've seen for authentic food. Buffet style set up but of course they don't allow you to serve yourself. I was excited that no one was speaking English in the place including customers which is normally a good sign. Alright, the food... jerk chicken rice and peas how can you go wrong. The chicken was not fresh not even close and I wasn't interested in asking for more gravy on the rice because of the evil looks the employees give you when you are speaking English. Tone the attitude down people are ordering food not asking you on a date. The girl with the nasty sore on her neck, can we not see that when ordering food. I spent $30 for 1 large plate and 1 small plus a large drink. The drink was $7?? Ok I'm not an expert but it taste like Veryfine fruit punch and pineapple juice not sure why it's $7 but it's what I paid. The girl looked at the tip and rolled her eyes lol, I had another $5 in cash to give her but after the eyes rolling I gave it to the little girl selling books in the restaurant. Sorry this was not even close to being a good visit. I will not be going back but I'm sure if you speak the correct dialect they will take care of you that was obvious. read more

I ordered 2 chicken patties, 1 beef patty, coco bread and plantains. All three patties were dried out. And the plantains were hard. I'm very disappointed with my food. My family is too. I doubt I ever eat here again. It was my first and probably last time eating at a Golden Krust. read more

I went to this location today for the lunch special. I was in line at 2:52pm and lunch ends at 3pm. I stood in line with one other guy ahead of me and no one behind me. A few mins later, about 6 or 7 other customers came in and got behind me. Then another staff member came over to help me. She asked me what I wanted and I told her "the lunch special with curry chicken and white rice". She told me that I couldn't get the lunch special because it ends at 3pm and it's 3:09pm. I said um, it's not 3 o'clock yet and i showed her the time on my phone and it said 2:56pm. She said not by our clock, our clock is set 10mins fast and that's what we go by. She then told me I would have to pay almost $9 for the same meal. I didn't say anything to her, I told her that was ok and I walked out to the parking lot and called their corporate office to tell them what happened. i received a call back from the owner and she told me that wasn't the policy and to go back into the store and she would call the store and tell them to give me the special, because she was out of town. Anyway, I ended up getting my food at the lunch price, but what about all of those people who came in behind me and still had time to get the lunch special. Also, I noticed when I went back into the store, the time had been changed back to the right time. My thing is if you don't want to honor the lunch price until 3pm, then change the lunch hours. Anyway, just pay attention to the time when you go in for lunch. There's no telling how many people have been told lunch was over and charged the regular price. Much better than the other Caribbean restaurants around. The oxtail, jerk chicken and beef patty was fresh and omg amazing! They give you large proportions and they ask YOU if you want a lot of gravy. I'll never go anywhere else for some good Caribbean food. On 9/29/2018 my son purchased a pineapple soda and told him to return the unopened soda. However the manager refused to accept the soda and refused to give him back his money saying that is not store policy. This establishment as poor customer service and this policy should be reviewed by the owner. I will not be supporting this local business again read more

Woohoo!!! This food is always good! They give very generous portions and it's delicious!! We patronize them a lot because the food is always delicious and the servers are very nice. I don't have any complaints about this location. We live in Lawrenceville, and haven't tried the new locations on 78 and Duluth Hwy yet because the Conyers location have spoiled us to keep coming!!! :) read more

This place is delicious! Some of the ladies behind the counter can have an attitude problem though. It is a bit pricey but around the average price you're going to pay for Caribbean food, also the portions are huge, so you are getting your money's worth. I can't speak for the bakery side as I usually just get hot plates to go. I suggest the oxtail and the peas and rice, can't go wrong with those. read more

i usually love them but i went on 01/16/18 and waited 30minutes for curry chicken that had more bones then anything i was very disappointed in them and when i called them when i got home to tell them no answer well after spending $26.00 for 2 large curry chicken and got all bones and plenty of rice and a beef patty very disappointed very!! read more

Horrible, horrible customer service and the food is not properly cooked. I visited them the other day and ordered a small curry goat with white rice and cabbage. I paid for the food and as I began to open it and eat, I saw that the meat was still pink. I took it back up to the server and told her my case, and she gave me attitude like the fact that I told her the problem was an offense to her or the cook. She then brought the manager out, and I explained my case again. The manager then asked if I would like something else, and I replied yes, a small oxtail. She then said, "Well is there anything wrong with the rice (that had the curry goat gravy on it) and cabbage?" I said no and she told me to keep it and she would give me the oxtail in a cup, and charge me the difference. Wow. I couldn't even get a new plate with oxtail and gravy, I was told to keep what I had and given an attitude. I just asked for a refund and the "manager" told me to throw the plate away first then she would refund me my money. What a joke, I will never do business there again and will inform others of the blasphemy. Bright and out of order! read more
