It's been so busy these last few months I'm just now getting around to writing this review. My friend and I were planning to have Thanksgiving dinner together, and she requested cake from this bakery. I'd never heard of it before, but after sampling their sweets I've been ruined for all other bakeries! My friend swears by their Vanilla slice, and I'm a pound cake afficionado so I had to give their brown sugar pound cake a try - you won't want ANY other pound cake after this. It didn't even need the delicious caramel sauce they give you with it - everything from the flavor to texture tells you this was made with love and great skill. They were sadly out of stock of their banana pudding cheesecake, but I'll make sure to put my order in earlier next time so I can sample even more of their deliciousness. read more

Was in the Conyers area so I figured I would try. Tucked away in a shopping center. Looked very clean and neat has a fridge with what I think are special order cakes. The person at the front wasn't rude but was super friendly. I chose the red velvet cheesecake , Oreo cake slice , and strawberry crunch cheesecake. Hands down I am happy with the portion size and all of these cakes were moist sweet and flavorful. Nothing artificial tasting. I was interested in German Chocolate Cake, Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake, and Banana Pudding Cheesecake. They looked delicious.. but they were all beyond, overly sweet as to where the sugar overpowered the actual name flavor. The cake part and cheesecake were fine ..but the icing, was all connecting with the cake extremely sweet! I am a sweet fanatic, but if it's way too sweet for me, than I know something wrong‍. Wow wow wow!!! Stopped in today for our first time and we were immediately greeted by one of the owners. It is owned by two sisters and they are just lovely people. Extremely welcoming. Both of which I was anticipating the most since they're classic flavors. I didn't get the homey light cocoa taste from RV & the frosting didn't give me the tang from the cream cheese. The pound cake just wasn't to my liking probably almond/lemon extract. I guess I was expecting vanilla and butter. The strawberry crunch cheesecake took the win today. Today was my first time in the store. The inside was small and quaint. I was greeted by an amazing employee. She gave me insight on all the offered sweets. I chose the Banana Pudding Cheesecake slice. I was a bit taken back because the single piece of cake was $10. After taking a bite, I quickly realized how great it was. I recommend everyone and will retune for more pieces of cake. I would give a small suggestion. Having more variety of flavors for the cake cups. My daughter and I usually frequent the $3 slice Tuesdays, and we usually spend an upwards of $25-30 each week in support of black-owned businesses. Last week when I went on Tuesday, they were limiting the sweet potato cake slices to 2 slices per customer. Oh my goodness, we purchased the carrot cheesecake for the Christmas holiday and I must say it's one of the best cakes that I've ever had in my entire 68 years of life. I shared how good the cake was to a friend of a friend in Conyers and they knew right away the bakery that I was talking about. Visited on 8/12/23. There was one lonely soul trying to answer phones, run to the back and handle physical customers in the shop. Where was her help? Poor thing, but she was pleasant. I bought 2 slices of cake and THEY ARE PRICEY. I was shocked at the cost. The pound cake was good, but the yellow cake with chocolate frosting was all thumbs down on that one. I believe in 2nd chances. We'll stop in again next year when we come back for a visit. German chocolate is one of my favorites, so maybe I'll try that one. read more

I heard someone speaking very highly of this bakery while at a salon near perimeter mall. Curious, I asked where it was located. She told me unfortunately it was quite a distance away and I would probably not be in the area. She said it opened about a year ago and was located in Conyers on Hwy 138. There must have been some type of divine dessert intervention working for me because I had an appointment on 138 coming up in a couple of days. Yay me! And boy was I glad that worked in my favor. This place is awesome. The decor was so cute and well done. It really added to the ambience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had samples of many of the cakes and my husband went to town. There were a variety of great flavors like red velvet, coconut and fruity pebbles (strawberry and kiwi). But in the end we decided on vanilla. It was moist and delicious. The icing was creamy and delicious. Just delicious. I also got the sweet potato brownie based on the recommendation from the salon. Calling it a brownie is a bit of a misnomer. It does not have a brownie consistency. It is more like a sweet potato pie on a sugar cookie crust. Either way...terrific!!! OMG!!!!!!! This is the absolute BEST cake I have ever eaten. Please don't tell my mama or my grandma I said that. I work nearby and a co-worker told me about their $2 Tuesday special, so I went to check them out. I wasn't ready y'all. The space is not really big, but it is the perfect amount of space for what they are doing. There is a steady flow of cake slices coming out of the kitchen and such a great variety too. I tried the Biscoff cake because I love Biscoff cookies and I was taken aback. That cake was so flavorful and moist. It wasn't too sweet either. I don't usually eat cake icing because it's too sweet, but I was able to eat it this time. I also picked up some slices for my children; oreo, red velvet, and banana. They loved it too. Now, they ask me weekly if I'm bringing cake home. The gentleman working behind the counter is so helpful and willing to answer any question he is asked. He was so polite and kind. I appreciated his patience with me on my first visit. Cake slices are regularly $6 and worth every penny, but $2 Tuesday is hard to pass up, so I will definitely be back. They are located in the shopping center with Big Lots and Dollar Tree right off 138 in Conyers. The space was clean and neat and the employees were polite and kind. Brown Sugar has some of the best cake in town. Point blank period. Imagine you are eating moist and fluffy cake with the most flavorful and sweet frosting. That's what you find at Brown Sugar. Someone in my family always manages to bring home a piece of cake from this bakery almost every week (that's how good they are!). Okay, maybe I'm lying... someone in my family manages to bring back at least THREE pieces of cake from this bakery. No matter what piece of cake I've eaten, I've thoroughly enjoyed it. Her mother-in-law makes some of the best cakes you've ever tasted so I knew I had to get a cake that was up to her standard. I ordered a 3 layer Key Lime cake. It was amazing and everyone enjoyed it! While I was picking up the Key Lime cake I decided to try the Lemon cake with Coconut icing they sold by the slice. I've never had that combo but again, I was amazed by its deliciousness. They sell pretty generous slices of cake but it did not make it to my house. I just could not stop eating it. I raved so much about that we decided to order one for my birthday. I can not wait to cut into it. I may not even share. I've tried a lot of cakes in Atlanta but this place beats them hands down!!! The cupcakes are just as good.
