I've visited 3-4 times this year, and my husband's sweet tooth is definitely the reason I keep coming back! They never disappoint. The Red Velvet had him so impressed that he refused to let anyone else's make the cut. And that was just the beginning! I came back and tried the cookies, but they didn't hit the same, so they're officially off of our roster. Since then, I've ordered the Red Velvet Cheesecake, Strawberry Crunch Cheesecake, and Banana (Pudding) Cheesecake--and let me tell you, they are ALL delicious! Definitely a spot we'll be returning to! read more

This is my go to bakery in conyers. Who would have ever thought I would find one of the best bakeries in metro Atlanta. This bakery specializes in cakes and specialty desserts. They also have a $3 cake slice day which is Tuesday. I frequent this establishment way more than I care to admit and some of their cakes remind me of my late grandmothers. This is a minority owned small business located in a conyers, Ga but I would put this bakery with some of the best bakeries I have ever tried in and outside of Georgia. read more

Today reminded me why I'm not a fan of their pound cake. A bit of constructive criticism: the almond extract completely overpowers the traditional flavor. A classic pound cake really only needs vanilla and maybe a hint of lemon. On a positive note, the carrot cheesecake was actually pretty good. read more

went there for desserts and coffee to celebrate mothers day with my mother daughter and husband. Omg WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE. Truly truly truly recommend their baked goods we got the red velvet and carrot cake cheesecake. We were speaking to the owner and they are also holding tea time from 2 people to a group. I tell you if you have a chance head to olde town conyers and visit them . read more

Was in the Conyers area so I figured I would try. Tucked away in a shopping center. Looked very clean and neat has a fridge with what I think are special order cakes. The person at the front wasn't rude but was super friendly. I chose the red velvet cheesecake , Oreo cake slice , and strawberry crunch cheesecake. Hands down I am happy with the portion size and all of these cakes were moist sweet and flavorful. Nothing artificial tasting. I really really would come back to try more very happy and worth the price for these three slices was about $27 but with every penny read more

It's been so busy these last few months I'm just now getting around to writing this review. My friend and I were planning to have Thanksgiving dinner together, and she requested cake from this bakery. I'd never heard of it before, but after sampling their sweets I've been ruined for all other bakeries! My friend swears by their Vanilla slice, and I'm a pound cake afficionado so I had to give their brown sugar pound cake a try - you won't want ANY other pound cake after this. It didn't even need the delicious caramel sauce they give you with it - everything from the flavor to texture tells you this was made with love and great skill. They were sadly out of stock of their banana pudding cheesecake, but I'll make sure to put my order in earlier next time so I can sample even more of their deliciousness. read more

The cake from this place is amazing! Always delicious no matter what you choose! I would highly recommend.

Amazing customer service along with wonderful products to choose from. The place is so good they run out quickly.

Sooooo amazing!!! The customer service is always amazing and any version of the banana pudding is a must! In such a cute area of Conyers, I loved sitting by the window and enjoying the sweet treats! Came here twice in one week, will come back again! read more

Wow wow wow!!! Stopped in today for our first time and we were immediately greeted by one of the owners. It is owned by two sisters and they are just lovely people. Extremely welcoming. Honestly every single piece of cake in there looks amazing but the one that caught our eye was the strawberry shortcake cheesecake!!! Need I say more?? And omg is it good. It's better than good. The cake was soooo moist, the cheesecake was perfect and the crust was amazeballs .....all while not being too overly sweet. I can't wait to go back and try something else.....even though it will be hard to pass this one up again read more

Recently moved to Georgia... Driving past, seen the shop. Stopped in to see, because I'm ready for some southern desserts! I was interested in German Chocolate Cake, Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake, and Banana Pudding Cheesecake. They looked delicious.. but they were all beyond, overly sweet as to where the sugar overpowered the actual name flavor. The cake part and cheesecake were fine ..but the icing, was all connecting with the cake extremely sweet! I am a sweet fanatic, but if it's way too sweet for me, than I know something wrong‍. I couldn't finish it. I asked the young lady, who checked me out what the icing made of, she said cream cheese....it tasted like nothing of cream cheese. I paid too much to waste. My opinion‍. But people love it. read more

Came here for Valentines Day with my wife as a special pregnancy treat & the aromas of the cute bakery were so pleasant and inviting, I couldn't wait to place my order. I purchased 3 cakes Red Velvet, Pound cake & strawberry crunch cheesecake cake. I didn't like the Red Velvet nor the pound cake. Both of which I was anticipating the most since they're classic flavors. I didn't get the homey light cocoa taste from RV & the frosting didn't give me the tang from the cream cheese. The pound cake just wasn't to my liking probably almond/lemon extract. I guess I was expecting vanilla and butter. The strawberry crunch cheesecake took the win today. The cheesecake has beautiful flavor & the texture of the cake with the crunch was really making my palate dance with joy. read more

This past weekend my brother was expecting to pick his cake up which had already been paid for, the date was set by a staff member for 10/21/23. When he arrived to pick his cake up it was not available, he was told the date was for the 28th, which was not true, so he was left without a cake for his birthday. read more

Today was my first time in the store. The inside was small and quaint. I was greeted by an amazing employee. She gave me insight on all the offered sweets. I chose the Banana Pudding Cheesecake slice. I was a bit taken back because the single piece of cake was $10. After taking a bite, I quickly realized how great it was. I recommend everyone and will retune for more pieces of cake. I would give a small suggestion. Having more variety of flavors for the cake cups. I would have bought several flavors of the cake cups, just to get my feet wet to try multiple desserts. Selling ice cream would have a great addition as well. Over all great place! read more

Omg this is a hidden gem. We learned about this bakery during an event in old Town Conyers. The customer service was great and the cakes and cupcakes were amazing. I recommend the banana pudding cheesecake cake and the plain vanilla cupcake. Enjoy! read more

My daughter and I usually frequent the $3 slice Tuesdays, and we usually spend an upwards of $25-30 each week in support of black-owned businesses. Last week when I went on Tuesday, they were limiting the sweet potato cake slices to 2 slices per customer. Today, to save myself a trip, I called to see if they were still limiting the sweet potato brownie slices. So, I was told that it was a limit of 3 slices per customer. It was fun while it lasted, we won't be back. read more

Just bought a plain poundcake slice and it is tasting the way it's supposed to taste. One suggestion? If I'm going to pay $8.02 for a slice, please supply me with a better quality fork. read more

What a cute BOB, I found nestled in a storefront area in Conyers, Ga. The sweet potato brownies and moist vanilla cake were delicious. The signature desserts were gone (what a selection) but I will get there earlier next time. Oh my goodness, we purchased the carrot cheesecake for the Christmas holiday and I must say it's one of the best cakes that I've ever had in my entire 68 years of life. I shared how good the cake was to a friend of a friend in Conyers and they knew right away the bakery that I was talking about. They also said that they've tasted the German chocolate cake which was to kill for. If you haven't experience desserts from Brown Sugar Bakery you don't know what you're missing , try it , it would be one of your best decisions ever. Great customer service also ! read more

Wonderful place with a very nice and personable owner. I enjoyed my treats so much, I can't wait to go back.

Love! Love!! I used to only stop by on $2 Tuesdays. Now, I drop by anytime I have a taste for a moist and delicious slice of cake. Stop by! You will not regret you did. read more

I enjoyed my visit to Brown Sugar Desserts. The staff was friendly and there was a line, signaling how popular it is. There was also a large variety of desserts and they were well portioned. I paid about $20 for two slices of cake, which to me is pretty pricey, but they were delicious. read more

I purchased 8 slices for family and friends yesterday...Saturday, it was amazing, I'll be back on Tuesday!!

Visited on 8/12/23. There was one lonely soul trying to answer phones, run to the back and handle physical customers in the shop. Where was her help? Poor thing, but she was pleasant. I bought 2 slices of cake and THEY ARE PRICEY. I was shocked at the cost. The pound cake was good, but the yellow cake with chocolate frosting was all thumbs down on that one. I believe in 2nd chances. We'll stop in again next year when we come back for a visit. German chocolate is one of my favorites, so maybe I'll try that one. read more

2 dollar cake slices on Tuesday . Don't let that be the only day you stop by though. Vanilla cake with vanilla icing and chocolate with yellow cake simple but great . They always keep creative flavors on deck and it's always great service a really cool family owned establishment! read more

I heard someone speaking very highly of this bakery while at a salon near perimeter mall. Curious, I asked where it was located. She told me unfortunately it was quite a distance away and I would probably not be in the area. She said it opened about a year ago and was located in Conyers on Hwy 138. There must have been some type of divine dessert intervention working for me because I had an appointment on 138 coming up in a couple of days. Yay me! And boy was I glad that worked in my favor. This place is awesome. The decor was so cute and well done. It really added to the ambience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had samples of many of the cakes and my husband went to town. There were a variety of great flavors like red velvet, coconut and fruity pebbles (strawberry and kiwi). But in the end we decided on vanilla. It was moist and delicious. The icing was creamy and delicious. Just delicious. I also got the sweet potato brownie based on the recommendation from the salon. Calling it a brownie is a bit of a misnomer. It does not have a brownie consistency. It is more like a sweet potato pie on a sugar cookie crust. Either way...terrific!!! Both items were between $4-$5. They have $2 Tuesdays where smaller cake slices are just $2 each. Can't wait!!!!! read more

Went in just going to get one slice & walked out with 5!! So far I've tried the PB cake and banana chocolate. They're soooo good! They aren't too rich, just right! The guy at the front was super friendly and helpful. I love supporting small businesses when the people are friendly kind folks. I live about 30 minutes away but I'll definitely be back! read more

OMG!!!!!!! This is the absolute BEST cake I have ever eaten. Please don't tell my mama or my grandma I said that. I work nearby and a co-worker told me about their $2 Tuesday special, so I went to check them out. I wasn't ready y'all. The space is not really big, but it is the perfect amount of space for what they are doing. There is a steady flow of cake slices coming out of the kitchen and such a great variety too. I tried the Biscoff cake because I love Biscoff cookies and I was taken aback. That cake was so flavorful and moist. It wasn't too sweet either. I don't usually eat cake icing because it's too sweet, but I was able to eat it this time. I also picked up some slices for my children; oreo, red velvet, and banana. They loved it too. Now, they ask me weekly if I'm bringing cake home. The gentleman working behind the counter is so helpful and willing to answer any question he is asked. He was so polite and kind. I appreciated his patience with me on my first visit. Cake slices are regularly $6 and worth every penny, but $2 Tuesday is hard to pass up, so I will definitely be back. They are located in the shopping center with Big Lots and Dollar Tree right off 138 in Conyers. The space was clean and neat and the employees were polite and kind. You will enjoy some amazing cake here and you will get great service. read more

I've tried 3 flavors. I'm not a fan of the icing. I feel it could have a less sweet taste and more cream cheese on the red velvet in particular. The red velvet did not have that special taste from coco. Key Lime and Strawberry short cake did not excite me. Again, mainly the icing. Not in a hurry to go back. Just my opinion. Looks like most like it. read more

Welp, I was so looking forward to buying and eating a buttercream pound cake from Brown Sugar! I had tasted one that a friend bought and it was absolutely delicious. Needless to say, I was terribly disappointed! The pound cake that I bought was absolutely tasteless, with no substance. There was no butter in the cake and it tasted like it was made with water. I actually make a pretty decent pound cake. I wish I had saved my money. I will not be going back! read more

Brown Sugar has some of the best cake in town. Point blank period. Imagine you are eating moist and fluffy cake with the most flavorful and sweet frosting. That's what you find at Brown Sugar. Someone in my family always manages to bring home a piece of cake from this bakery almost every week (that's how good they are!). Okay, maybe I'm lying... someone in my family manages to bring back at least THREE pieces of cake from this bakery. No matter what piece of cake I've eaten, I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I've had their red velvet, strawberry, yellow chocolate and double chocolate and I really love this place. My personal favorite is the yellow cake with chocolate frosting, but I will be back to try more! read more
