Baby Cakes makes very cute and tasty cakes. We had seen their cakes on a Facebook page for the Vampire Diaries. When it was our friends birthday we knew exactly where to get the cake from. We only had 5 people so we opted for the smaller cake. She was able to make the small cake just as detailed as the big one. The cake was ready as soon as my wife got there to pick it up. I am a native of Covington and this bakery has been a part of our families celebrations for years. The pandemic made it impossible for me to celebrate with my family because I know live in Maine. The wonderful staff took my order over the phone and made those celebrations amazingly perfect with such grace and perfection. I had another big event this week. I usually order my cakes from Baby Cakes, but I tried another bakery nearby. Big mistake. The cake I ordered at the other bakery had a very chalky icing. We ate one piece and had to throw the cake away. Fifty dollars down the drain. I absolutely love the icing at Baby Cakes. Horrible customer service and staff. I have never seen such rude people who act like they are doing you a favor and you are buying from them. They messed up my cake and refused to correct it. My cake was half done and they would not credit anything or fix it and blamed it on me because I needed it done at a certain time. I'm only giving Baby Cakes one start bc I can't give them zero!!! I ordered a smash cake for my daughters birthday a week in advance. Due to her allergies, she needs a dairy free, egg free cake. I went to pick up the cake and it hadn't been made. The owners daughter was extremely rude and said she would not take credit for the mix up because she wasn't the one who took the original order but did say she saw the order sitting on the counter the day before. She acted like she was doing me a favor and that it was my fault that the cake had not been made. I had heard of bad customer service before from Baby Cakes but thought I would give them the benefit. I was definitely wrong and should have trusted the reviews of others. I will never again give Baby Cakes the opportunity to mess up something for me again. read more
