They don't ever answer their phone and there is no voice mail; it just rings and rings.

Downtown San Francisco has blocks and blocks of different businesses. It's hard to find lots of businesses in SF which had its start within the 1800's ( not the address number but the years of the 1800's) in San Francisco. My childhood apartment in San Francisco in the Mission was my backyard and shared the same backyard with the Elixir ( one of oldest bar in San Francisco established in 1858) .When it comes to the years of technology companies which have been in business for over 20 years it seems more like 20 dog years which is the equivalent to 100 human years. There a few businesses which are over 100 years old in San Francisco and fewer that are over 150 years old in human years. There is a family owned business in San Francisco which started over 150 years ago and still exists on Market street and it's called Patrick & Co. Walking down Market street the vibe of downtown San Francisco is a blend of vintage and modern with a mix of the future. Walking past the See's Candies and The Paris Baguette and inside Patrick & Co., you will see lots of office supplies . You will also find many fun items like calendars , cards , journals, stationaries, and interesting books. You will also see anything from Hello Kitty bags to stickers of animated animals and food. This is a good place to pick up some original design greeting cards along with the pens and markers. This place is over 150 years old in San Francisco and the business feels timeless. Plus, they typically have unique gift items and they overall have a feeling of times when people were people. This particular Patrick & Co. location was an absolute treat to browse through. Items that took us down memory lane. Gifts for people in our lives. And organizational tools that we didn't know we needed until we came upon them. Prices might be higher than a big box store but not overly expensive. Some of the merchandise was priced in-line with what I've seen elsewhere. It was a delightful time strolling through the aisles. If we lived in San Francisco, and nearby, I'd be a regular customer.

It's really difficult these days to find stores in San Francisco that have ergonomic desk chairs…read moreavailable on the sales floor for you to try out, so I'm especially grateful for Relax the Back for filling this niche. This review is based on our two visits to and telephone/email interactions with the folks at the Van Ness Relax The Back location. John and Tim helped us find the desk chair that would be able to best accommodate with the support my partner needed for his back as he works long hours and recently had back surgery. John and Tim are friendly and easygoing people. They're happy to take the time to show you what they know, their inventory, discuss pros and cons of each item and inform you of all the ways you can customize your computer chair. They're NOT pushy salespeople and sent us off with a price quote on the chair we were most interested in to allow us time to consider, budget, and compare it with other options on the market. I called the store and spoke with John, letting him know that we wanted to proceed with the order and John emailed me a copy of the receipt We had the chair delivered to the store such that John and Tim could help us assemble it carefully and make sure everything was good to go. Friendly, patient, down-to-earth individuals who respect their customers' space. I would return to them for their inventory to select from and the pressure-free environment. Other folks will complain about prices. Let's put this in perspective: yes, it's going to cost more than your little two-hundred-dollar crap desk chair from IKEA. That's what we had been using - clearly it wasn't working and got us to where we are now. We are shopping as a preventative measure to keep my partner's back from deteriorating with age. We don't want surgery again - and regardless of your insurance, that surgery will cost you way more than what this chair costs you. I'm happy to invest and pay extra for a chair that was thoughtfully designed and intended to support the human back if it means it's going to last a lifetime and lead to better quality of life down the road. Thank you John for your patience, for showing us your selection, and helping me to process the transaction and thank you Timothy for helping us to assemble the chair, your humor, and the reminders about steps to take to make sure the chair lasts us a long time. :)

Investing in a Herman Miller chair is a significant decision, and Dan brought the perfect combination of expertise, patience, and professionalism throughout the entire process. He took the time to understand my needs, answered every question thoroughly, and never once made me feel rushed or pressured. What stood out most was how knowledgeable he was, not just about the chairs themselves, but about helping me make the right long-term investment for my comfort and work life. Exceptional customer service is rare, and Dan exemplifies it. He is the kind of employee who builds trust, creates loyal customers, and elevates the reputation of the entire company. Herman Miller is fortunate to have him.

Have to get it delivered, and their carrier won't bring it inside, or call or text when he arrives. No, he has to leave it on the sidewalk outside my house. They can't even give a definite day. But I live in San Francisco, I explain. I have a bad back, which is why I am purchasing this expensive ergonomic chair to begin with. I either need it delivered and carried upstairs or I can come get it and then bribe someone to carry it upstairs for me. Then they tell me about the super premium delivery service they offer, which features carrying upstairs, and scheduling. Starts at three hundred. So I cancelled this order and got them to refund the charge, and then I bought myself a pollo asado quesadilla at Nick's Crispy Tacos nearby (now THAT was a five-star experience), and then I found the same damn chair on Amazon, used, for three hundred bucks cheaper, and the United States Postal Service will bring it next week, and I will bribe someone to carry it upstairs for me, problem solved. No thanks to these guys. No wonder retail in this town is dead.
