Ordered the family meal A for 4. Sophie took our order over the phone, was so kind and welcoming as it was our first time ordering. Food was ready for pick up and we grabbed our bags to go. Sophie came out of the kitchen to greet us and wish us well. Everything was very clean and had a good feeling being there. We ordered for 4 but could have fed 6 or 7. All of us got plenty to eat and everything was hot and tasty with plenty left over for another meal. Broccoli chicken, mongolian beef and sweet & sour pork all had good flavor with tender pieces of meat. So happy to have tried Golden Eagle! read more

Very very happy with Golden Eagle. Authentic flavors of chinese cuisine. We ordered the house fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, salt pepper spareribs, and orange chicken on new years eve. The line was pretty long for pick up but it was worth the wait. Everything was so good but our favorite was the salt pepper spareribs. It was crispy and had a ton of flavors. You could tell the spareribs were marinated prior to frying. The employees were efficient and friendly as well. Looks like a family owned business. Have been coming to Golden Eagle for years now, even though I have tried other Chinese Food in the area, this is hands down the BEST IN TRACY! If you want the freshest food in town, then place your To-Go order with Golden Eagle. I particularly enjoy the Peking Spareribs and always get the Orange chicken. These two items are my favorites but everything I have ever ordered here is Always Fresh and made with Love. Very friendly staff as well. The price's are affordable as well, not like other (newly opened) Chinese restaurants in Tracy. Got to enjoy my meal now, it has cooled off enough to eat now. Again, so fresh that it is piping HOT when I get it home, at least 4 miles away. LOL. read more

It's been awhile since we tried Golden Eagle. Last time we got the orange chicken and found it too orange-y / citrus-y. The tangerine chicken was much more in line with what we are used to (although still a bit on strong citrus flavor side). It has red peppers but isn't spicy in the least bit, so don't let that scare you. The mongolian beef was ok but ours didn't look like one of the Yelp photos (in the yelp photo it appeared deep friend/crispy like some of the beef dishes at the Panda Franchise), ours instead looked a bit like the beef in broccoli beef and it was cooked with onions and green onion shoots. We are now open to trying more dishes here again. The take out service has always been very warm and friendly so no complaints there. read more

We love this place and it's always super clean & tidy and we always enjoy her coming over to speak with us when we dine in! She does a huge take out business as well! Haven't had take out Chinese Food in awhile and decided to go to Golden Eagle Restaurant. It was a good choice. Ordered the House Fried Rice, House Chow Fun, War Wonton Soup and the Mongolian Beef lunch special. Portions were huge and delicious. The owner was friendly and took the time to talk and see how my day was and how my family and I were coping with COVID-19. We came here the first day of moving to Tracy. The owner and employees are so welcoming and the sweetest ever. We order their shrimp fried rice and it was amazing! They aren't like other restaurants that skimp you on the protein. We asked for shrimp fried rice and actually got SHRIMP fried rice. (Most restaurant give you fried rice with 4 pieces of shrimp). Found our new Chinese takeout spot. Wife called in the order, I picked it up 15 minutes later. Gentleman at the counter greeted me after he finished taking an order. We chatted for a second and he got my food which was ready to go. House special Chow fun was on point. Generals chicken had good flavor Peking ribs we crispy and tasted great. Beef with bean curd was exactly what I was looking for All the portions we very large, had a lot of flavor, weren't greasy, and no msg as they said since I didn't feel sick or have a headache afterwards. Go to spot going forward. Support this local shop vs Panda or some other chain. They seem like nice people. Easy parking for pickup since downtown isn't very crowded right now. If you are looking for a negative, the broccoli was over cooked in one of the dishes but the dish had a lot of sauce so it could have over cooked it during the drive home I guess. read more

The other night, I paid a visit to Golden Eagle Restaurant for the first time. It's not hidden but, becasue it blends in so well with other well established businesses, if your not looking for it, you'll pass it by. I think visiting after dark helps in finding too since, it's well lit by neon lighting. The inside is very open and well lit. With the exception of Asian printed accordion divider separating the front door from patrons, you'll feel as though your dining inside of a dining hall or cafeteria if you dine in. I walked in shortly after 7 pm and the number four person to be helped behind two dining in parties; one of four and the other of ten. I was also behind two gents who had just ordered as take out. In between the solo lady lady (Sophie) taking care of customers ahead of me, I managed to wrangle a menu from her so I could give it the once over. After caring for those ahead of me, Sophie got out her pen to take my order. Her first question was to ask if this was my first visit to the restaurant. With her next question of how I heard about the place, I gladly stepped up and said "Yelp" of course. With my answer came a huge grin, an extended hand (for shaking) and a heart felt "welcome." I ordered two items as take out. The first item asked for was Chicken Chow Fun. From my experience with Chinese Food places, Chow Fun tells the tale. Either it would be a box full of grease or, not. For my second item, I asked for Kung Pao Beef. Both items I requested be extra spicy or hot. After paying, Sophie told me the wait time would be about 15 to 20 minutes so, I retired to my truck to wait it out. I returned about 15 minutes later to my order already prepared to go. Before I could accept the bag, Sophie open it and the containers to ensure my orders were correct. Back at my house, I popped Red2 into the blu ray player. shoveled some of both my Golden Eagle dishes onto a paper plate (becasue that's how one rolls when they hate doing dishes) and sat back to watch the flick and sample the goodies. The Chow Fun - Not greasy at all. The noodles were cooked to a perfect medium and the flavors were explosive. The Kung Pao Beef - Tasty with lots of vegetables, peanuts, broth but not a lot beef. Needless to say, it wasn't my favorite dish and most of it was placed in the fridge as leftovers for the kids. So, how do I rate Golden Eagle. It's definitely a do again place. The location is great. It's clean, odor free and the service coupled with Sophie's attitude made for a righteous overall experience. It's really comforting to know small businesses like Golden Eagle and staff like Sophie do still exist. It reinforces my no mistakes and no regrets mindset and reasons for leaving the hustling, bustling Bay Area for the slower and smaller Central Valley. I've been curious about this place for ages, but my family and I always order in or get carryout. Since they didn't deliver, we just kept ordering from the same place, which has seriously declined in quality lately, The last time I had a Chinese craving, I was finally motivated to try Golden Eagle. I'm so glad I did. The service was really friendly from the moment I walked in the door. When I realized what I wanted (sesame chicken) wasn't on the menu, they offered to make it for me anyway. The owner even insisted I taste it before I left to be sure I liked the sauce. It was delicious (!) and the portion size was really good. The other dish we ordered, Shrimp with mixed vegetables, was also exceptional. It was chock full of good-sized shrimp and seasonal produce and had things you would expect (mushrooms, water chestnuts, snow peas) and things you might not (baby corn and summer squash). We did have on disappointment, which is why they get four stars instead of five. The crab cheese puffs were kind of sweet. Combined with the sweet & sour sauce that comes with it, it was too much. They were also kind of chintzy on the filling. Consider the amount of shrimp in our shrimp dish, that seemed surprising. Golden Eagle DOES deliver now. We plan to try them to see if we want to make them our new go to place. read more

The 1st time I ordered beef and broccoli and fried rice which wasn't too bad, but no special flavor to it. This time I ordered the pan fried Hong Kong style combo chow mein and a pepsi, paid $15. Again no special flavor, just bland and not worth the price. I've had food from this restaurant a few times now and I really like it! STRING BEANS W/ HOT GARLIC MEAT SAUCE: You know when you order a dish that says it has meat sauce, there isn't really THAT much meat in it (b/c protein is arguably more expensive)??? This definitely defies that standard. There was a hefty amount of string beans and meat, it wasn't too salty or (god forbid) sweet! I'd definitely like to order this again. SALT & PEPPER SWAI FISH: Your typical fried swai fish lightly seasoned with sauteed white onion, bell peppers, and green chili slices. This is really good! It's a bit on the salty side so I'd definitely recommend getting it with some rice or noodle to accompany it. It's served as a dry seasoning dish, so be aware of that. It helps keep the fish crisp! ORANGE CHICKEN: If you like the Panda Express OC, please note this is evidently different. It's drenched in sauce and definitely tastes like orange juice/oranges, so a bit on the sweeter side. I would recommend eating this or unpackaging it ASAP so it doesn't get soggy! GINGER SWAI FISH: This has to be one of my favorite dishes here .. It's heavy in ginger, light in seasoning (ie not too salty), and has a good amount of green onion (I think?) served with it. 11/10 my favorite hands down!! To note, some of the items are labeled as spicy but it's not spicy .. It's definitely on the lower end of the usual spice scale, so don't be hesitant about those dishes! TLDR: 10/10! read more

First time. Ordered the meal for 2, but got orange chicken instead of the pork. Fried rice was excellent. Chow mein I was hoping for vegetables with it, but I guess it doesn't come with it. Still tastes good. The orange chicken was where I was disappointed. Barely any chicken in the container. Probably 80-90% vegetables. Not even enough chicken for 2 people, barely for myself. Seen tons of pictures on Yelp of everyone getting huge portions. Not even close. Idk what happened. Chicken is less than $2 a lb at the store. I got less or barely that. The wontons were very soggy, soft and chewy, idk why. Egg rolls were good. I really wanted to like this place but idk for next time. Hopefully the owner sees this. read more
