If you haven't been to Goji Bistro, I recommend you go immediately! Considering the fact that quality ethnic cuisines are severely lacking in Bellingham, this is easily some of the best Asian food I've had in Bellingham so far! The menu is an Asian eclectic style with dishes based in Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cuisines. There are plenty of menu items to choose from and the food always comes out hot and fresh. I've tried several of the noodle dishes and the Se-U and Tamarind Phad Thai are my favorite. The fact that the the Se-U is the best pad see ew I've had in all of Bellingham, including the Thai restaurants I've tried, is a testament to how tasty the food here is. Many of the stir fries with rice are also great as is the Coconut Panang curry. I've found that with most of the dishes I've had here, you really can't go wrong. The price points can seem a little high, but the quantity of food you get is enormous, so get ready for leftovers! The waitstaff here is fantastic as well. They are friendly, helpful, attentive, and always smiling. I've never had anything but excellent service when I eat here. Not my favorite. I've been about 4 times and each time I'm hoping they finally offer brown rice. Most of their dishes pair well with rice but I'm not a fan of white. It surprises me each time they don't take the time to make make brown so they can offer it - it's not a complex item. I really don't understand why it's not an option even if I have to pay extra. I'm also not a fan of their gyoza. It comes fried but isn't advertised that way on their menu. Gyoza is typically pan fried on the bottom then steamed to finish it off. Theirs is not, it's completely fried. I don't mind fried food but I'm not ordering gyoza expecting it to be deep fried. The flavors of their meals are good but it's ruined for me personally because I don't have rice to go w/it unless I want to eat white rice. I love the nutty/chewy of brown rice and it's a much healthier alternative to white. read more

Visiting Bellingham for work and im starving by the end of the day so i look up some places close by.... goji sounded good so i figure ill come here. I ordered a dynamite roll and nutty chicken. They bring out my sushi roll and im so hungry i go take a bite....... and there's a big ass hair! I immediately spit it into my napkin. Omg. Yuck. I turn on my flashlight on my phone to examine my roll.... and there's 2 MORE HAIRS on it!! Does the chef not wear a hair net? Hat? Did he drop it? How did it get so many hairs on it? I start panicking.... What other health concerns do i need to worry about? I examined my nutty chicken and ate a few bites but i was too disgusted to continue. They took the sushi back and said they wouldn't charge me for it, ummm yea i sure hope not! They should've comped my whole meal but I'm not a pushy girl so i didn't complain. I still tipped the waitress a little tip but honestly, if i worked in the restaurant business - that meal should've been free. The curry was more of a soup dish which wasn't what we expected, the noodles were pretty good and it was a lot. Stopped off for lunch on a breezy weekend. First time in. I ordered the sweet Basil shrimp, my boyfriend enjoyed the teriyaki chicken with pork egg rolls. I had a few bites of his egg rolls, they were divine. So crispy and savory. My dish was huge and full of quality fresh veggies and six decent sized prawns. The sauce was delicious, but a bit watery which caused the shrimps breading to get soggy immediately. I still really enjoyed it and had a lot of leftovers. Our friend took us here today for Asian Fusion cuisine. Service - It was great! We had a large group of 20+ and we occupied a couple of large tables. Normally for groups of 8+ it is on one check, but we wanted separate checks still. The server was really accommodating & decided to let us pay separately. I love this place. This review isn't going to be the best to reference in terms of their variety and dine in experience, but I will assure you that they have really delicious speciality sushi rolls (don't even know about the basic rolls because we got one thing our first time gat hooked both of us). We've been here 5+ times in less than a year, we get it to go (which they're awesome about, and prompt!), and we get their speciality rolls. I go between the golden California roll and the dynamite roll. He gets the bulgogi roll and the goji roll, and also really likes the dynamite roll. I went for the first time to Gojo Bistro with my family. We were a party or 6. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. That is until they got super busy! I loved the food! and will definitly go back again. My one complaint was as we were finishing up our meal (I had a quarter of beer to finish) a party of 7 walked in. And to our surprize we were asked if we could leave so they could seat the party of 7. I've never had this happen. We walked out and looked at each other and said what just happened? We ordered Shrimp tempera roll, Dynamite roll and Goji beef. I was a little bit feeling guilty about the waitress who took our order. She was patient with a big smile when my husband kept changing his mind about foods. And it was really quick when they brought the rolls out after we ordered. Well, they are definitely not the best things I ever had, but they are delicious.(Bonus you don't have to ask extra ginger, they give you a lot and the ginger is fresher than other places). Goji beef came after a while to wait and yum yum, we love it. Not too oily but it was tasty. We was lazy to cook dinner so we did togo some Singapore street noodles and Bulgogi don which look good from our next table. We heard a lot of laughing sounds from the kitchen even we couldn't understand what they said. The employees seem happy and have fun. Most of busy restaurants, they work like a machine and make us feel we need to eat fast to get out. Never came back so asked another waitress who helped and checked on me often. The other actually brought our to go order as well. But no bill. She didn't come back and had to ask someone else for the bill - which 10 min later did finally come. Easily could've just left. We had the teriyaki/Gyoza, coco prawns and a veggie/nut/chicken/fish sauce dish. The later dish was large and yummy. The coco prawns were long and skinny (odd) like a pen.... and massively breaded. The teriyaki had tons of rice, 6 gyoza and only 4 small pieces of chicken. This could be a great place if they work on their processes and consistency in dish quantities. Stopped by here on the way to Seattle from Vancouver and I'm so glad we did! My family and I shared a goji Beef plate, Singaporean noodles, and a California roll. Servers were friendly and accommodating. At first this place doesn't seem busy at all, but by the time we finished dinner at 6, the restaurant was already packed! I can see why now. I have been going to Goji Bistro for years and the food has always been really good. They have kept up on the food quality and presentation, and I still enjoy it all the same as I did years ago. The inside of the restaurant is more than ready for a face lift, especially as they become more and more popular. I hope to see some changes in the future. The service is good most of the time, occasionally things are a bit slow, but I've never had a bad enough experience to not come back. I will note that the food always comes out fairly quick. First experience with Goji was not great. Was very excited to try a fusion restaurant right by our house. Unfortunately was very sub par. Enough that we didn't even finish it. Tempura shrimp was soggy and very evident that they do not de-vein their shrimp. Chicken teriyaki was flavorless and in small portion. Will not be going back. They didn't fire it until after I had finished my meal. Only after asking where it was (should have been cooked at the same time) did they cook it! Came for lunch today for the first time, I've driven by here I don't know how many times and finally decided to give it a try. Ordered take out Singapore Noodles and was impressed with the flavor, freshness, and the portion sizes. For $8.50 to go I got enough for two meals. All the lunch entrees come with a scoop of rice. The Singapore noodles had tender chicken, BBQ pork, onions, carrots, green onions, bean sprouts, and egg. I got 3 out of 5 stars and it was plenty spicy. The curry flavor was strong, maybe a little too much, but overall very flavorful and delicious. The service was fast and friendly and the place was packed when I went in there. This isn't normally my kind of place. Given its location it seems to be pretty obviously catering to all the offices and business parks in the area. This isn't authentic anything... it's Asian dishes that have similar ingredients and preparations so they can all be put on a menu. If you want sushi but the other guy from the office wants Pad Thai, you're good to go :) All that being said... my wife and I shared the Singapore Street Noodles and the "Se-U". Let's cut to the chase: these guys can cook. The Se-U was on par, if not better, than most Pad See Ew you're gonna find in a straight up Thai Restaurant. The Street noodles were good but on the dry side. Each dish came with rice which seemed needless on a noodle dish. The meat in both dishes was very well cooked and seemed good quality which is often not the case in regular Thai/Asian restaurants. One note: if you love spicy like i do... I ordered a "4" out of 5 on the spice scale and it felt like a 1. Service was good... atmosphere wasn't great with the music and the noise from the kitchen clashing so much as to be uncomfortable. Service was good. I would come back for more of that SE-U and since they obviously know how to do meat and sauces, I'm curious how their teriyaki tastes. I have enjoyed several meals from goji in the past. Tonight we chose to do takeout. There were three of us. I saw my friends meals and they looked fantastic. Then I saw mine. I had ordered teriyaki chicken. It was a small pile of rice with a small amount of chicken and almost no sauce. I went back with hopes of getting a small salad with it or even just some sauce! It was not to be. The server was very sweet but from the dining room I heard the response from the chefs. Let's just say it was less than sweet. It was one of those experiences that was straight down the middle. The bulgogi sushi was interesting, and my favorite bite of the night. The California roll was a bit below average, to my taste. And my entree, the Chicken Katsu was a bit overhyped, reminiscent of aTyson chicken patty with a sweet sticky sauce. The service left nothing to be desired, however, and the dishes that my friends had looked (and smelled) much better than mine. I don't know what happened to this restaurant. It took me about 6 tries to find something that I really liked here... I finally found a dish, the "On Fire" and have enjoyed it at least once a month for the past year. BUT The last two times I have been there, it seems like they pre-make the stir fry and "re-heat" it when it's ordered. And BTW, last week they left part of the chicken COLD ( I sent it back) and this week it was just about room temperature. My husband can go there with someone else from now on. A bad lunch experience can ruin the whole day, two in a row puts this place on my "thanks but no thanks" list. read more
