CEO Of Ube

By far the best donuts I've ever had. The CEO of Ube Donuts has the best donut filling I have ever had. Even if you never had an Ube food product before, you will love it regardless. Rich and creamy without it being overly sweet, it strikes a fantastic balance between butteriness and sweetness. If you like Tapioca balls the Ube Donuts with Brown Sugar Boba adds a great texture to the donuts and helps diversify each bite. And don't even get me started on the Ube Cookies, specifically the White Chocolate & Macadamia Nut. I have shared these with numerous friends and family members at this point, and most of them have said it's one of the best cookies they have ever had. The subtle sweetness of the Ube and white chocolate blending flavors with the macadamia nut, with a fun contrast in texture between the creamy ube and crunchy nuts, it's truly addicting and it's hard to only have one. The Coconut Glazed Ube Bread Roll might just be the best Cinnamon roll I've ever had. Extremely rich in flavor with a wonderful texture, soft inside, and delicious coconut glaze. I had a bunch of other fantastic pastries when they were featured at the 2023 Filipino Fest. I can't wait to try more, and keep up the amazing work!!!!

The jerk chicken, the oxtail, the curry shrimp, the curry goat, the chicken roti, the curry chicken, the pineapple cornbread and the rice and peas and cabbage was simply delicious. The Ambiance was delightful and on such a perfect summer day. The service was exquisite and family like. My party of 7 even got to meet the Owner Mrs. Marilyn who is beautiful inside and out. We paid compliments to the chef who prepared the food with Joy and Love. Thank you to the hospitable male who served us graciously. We had a delightful time and will be coming there more often for a home cooked southern meal and great time. Blessings always, Noelle Manning

I was in NY for a few days and my friend picked this spot. I didn't think to check the reviews…read more Sisters is a small restaurant and is good for small groups. The vibe is casual. I had the Curry Goat Roti (Paratha) and a Sorrel. I grew up eating Trini food, so I'm a bit of a food snob when it comes to roti. This one missed the mark. Paratha should be soft, tender, and light. And it should taste rich and buttery. What I was served was kinda dry, borderline crunchy, and lacked flavor. I know that not everyone makes great roti, so I just tried to make the best of it. The curry goat was pretty good. But for the life of me, I couldn't understand why I kept tasting something sweet. Then my friend told me that they put candied yams on it. Not only is that weird, the yams and the goat roti don't even compliment each other. I picked out the candied yams and ate the rest of the food. Next up was the sorrel. I've been drinking sorrel all my life and this one tasted odd. I know that each country puts their little twist on sorrel......but this one tasted very different from anything I've ever had. As far as the service, other than taking our order and bringing the food, we didn't get any service. I don't know if that's their norm, but that was our experience. I'm all for fusion food when it's done well. Tatiana @ Lincoln Center is an example of that. Sisters is not it.

It has a nice aquatic vibe all throughout the restaurant with different rooms to dine in. I started with the seafood platter. For $60, you get a whole tray full of crab legs, lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams, corn, and potatoes. I'm not a big seafood boil person but this one was valid. I enjoyed it. It was random but they also have popcorn but it was good so I'm not complaining. Then I ordered the popular honey garlic wings with the trifecta: Mac & cheese, candied yams, and collard greens. The wings were crispy and fresh. Plus the honey garlic sauce was really good. I understand the hype. I seen the lobster fries all over my feed so I ordered them. They use thick cut fries and the lobster on top is creamy. For my second platter I got Catfish with steamed cabbage and potato salad. You can tell they freshly fry the fish. Plus the batter is seasoned well. The cabbage lowkey has a kick which I liked and the potato salad has a subtle sweetness. I'm not mad at it though. Lastly I ordered the lobster Mac. Coated with a whole layer of cheese. You get lobster bits all throughout. Service was good. Lighthouse is definitely a solid spot whether you're taking out or dining in with a lot of options to choose from.

According to the story its a one man show. The owner/chef really takes his shop seriously and its a wonder to watch. Everything is whipped up in a tiny kitchen, in this small restaurant slash lounge slash bistro. Let me just say that my first time I ordered the Khao Mun Gai Tao and the soup broth made me FEEL something so familiar and nice. Kind of a flashback to eating a good home-cooked meal at age five. After I got over my thoughts on broth and Wellness I scooped into the ginger rice and knew it was a keeper. The chicken was a slam dunk. I look forward to trying many more dishes and you should too. I live in East Harlem and we don't lack for solid soul food options, but ye gods. One of the tastiest meals I've had in a long time. The sweet potato in particular was a bit of heaven. We appreciated the live music, provided by Emmett, a recent grad of LaGuardia HS and Oberlin. I loved getting to chat with Artist about his time in Mexico City and Tepoztlán. He has lived an interesting life, and I look forwrd to hearing more. This is most definitely a slow food set up and well worth the wait. (The taper candle on our table was a puddle of wax by the time we left.) Go when you have time to really savor the food and the company. A very special place.

We taste the LOVE! I highly recommend everything on the menu. My personal favorites are the fried chicken, pork chop with a side of mac and cheese, vegan collard greens, and cornbread. Last night, I tried the Stuchi (steak and crabmeat roulade with a tasty Cajun roux) -- a unique, elevated dish I'll be thinking about all summer. We also loved the crab cakes (real crab!), ceviche spring roll, and watermelon salad! Thank you, Artist -- we love Spaha Soul

I have seen Ricardo Steakhouse numerous times and always wanted to try it. To my surprise, it was a great experience. I walked in and the hostess immediately greeted me with a friendly hello. I said I was meeting a friend and she sat me at a highball table in the bar area. The place was lively with 90's music and local customers. A neighborhood scene that was fun. The bar itself was tiny and it extended into the open kitchen grill area. As I waited for my classmate, a gentleman served a plate of grilled bread and dip to my table. I stated I had not ordered anything yet and he stated it was part of the service. Please see the picture below as the bread was absolutely divine. It was grilled and crunchy with a lovely tomato based dip. I was very pleased. Once my classmate arrived our waiter stopped by with menus and we ordered the happy hour margaritas. I had a regular on the rocks and I must say it was POTENT in a good way! My classmate had a frozen fruit margarita that looked refreshing. We ordered mussels and french fries to nosh on. The fries were served nice and hot with ketchup on the side. Although I did not have any mussels I tasted the wonderful broth they were cooked in. Chef's kiss to the flavor of the liquid. Our waiter was great! He was dressed to impress with a white coat and tie. He constantly checked in with us to make sure all of our needs were met. We did have another round of drinks after eating. I decided on the frozen margarita this time and it was a bit less potent than my previous drink. Nevertheless it was delicious. The bathroom was towards the back of the restaurant. I walked through the enclosed patio which was a nice and quieter area of the establishment. It even had a semi private alcove where a party of people were seated. I saw a birthday celebration. It was lovely. Bathroom was unisex. Separate stalls (one was out of order) and a tiny sink outside each stall. No obvious disasters were observed but they probably could have been a bit cleaner as you can see from the pictures. I definitely would patronize this establishment again. I was very impressed with the excellent service and food. All of the staff, especially our waiter, were very professional and added to a very pleasant experience. Thank you Ricardo Steakhouse for a lovely evening!
