Diablo shrimp bowl
Seanniece B.

Had a strange experience here. The initial interaction was great with the server. I let her know about my gluten intolerance and she let me know what I could eat. Ordered the diablo shrimp. She said they could make it with a corn topper. It came out with a wheat flour topper. She apologized and said she would remake it. And here is where things went left. There was a mix up about what would be remade. She meant they would remake the topper. I thought she said they would remake the meal because of cross contamination. Then it was a little back and forth with what she believed to be the difference between an allergy and an intolerance. But I think she meant the difference between celiac and a gluten intolerance. I asked for the food not to be remade and found somewhere else to eat If you don't have celiac or a gluten intolerance, please don't argue with folks about the impacts on their bodies. The agua fresca was good.

Gobble This has a lot of character. The outside has really cool art and design and it's located on a quiet chill block which made it perfect for our meal. The food portions were small but really enjoyable. I wouldn't come here if you have a big appetite but the food we did have definitely hit the spot. The reason I gave it three stars is because of the service. It started out great but one of my friends ordered the diablo shrimp with a corn topper because she has a gluten intolerance. We were told this wouldn't be a problem but when the food came out it was made with a wheat flour topper. She let the server know and they said they would remake it. Instead of remaking the entire meal they only replaced the topper for a corn one. Knowing about the risk of cross examination, we all expected the full meal would be remade. The server went on to say that she only meant that they would replace the topper and that led into an awkward conversation about the difference between an allergy and intolerance. At that point we decided to finish our meals and leave so that my friend could eat somewhere else without the risk of contamination. Unfortunately this really put a damper on the whole experience. The food we did have was good and we enjoyed the environment for a short time we were there. I would just advise their staff to not argue with customers and try their best to accommodate customers who may have dietary restrictions so that they feel safe and satisfied with their meal and experience.

Pupusa Thursday!

Great outdoor seating with flowers and birds. The first word I said after the first bite was "wow". And that about sums it up. Go here. It is spectacular. I tried the roasted garlic, spinach and cheese pupusa and the green chile, bean, carnitas, and cheese. Definitely in the top five best pupusas I've ever had. The beans and rice con crema were simple yet rich. The yuca was perfectly crispy. It was a bit of a wait but worth every bite. All of the staff were also welcoming. This is a safe place for all and they show it with all of their cool stickers and decorations. Don't miss this gem tucked away in Old Town!

Ok the only thing I can say about this place it's amazing!!!! It's hidden in old town Albuquerque. You go through a business and it's in the back. They have a couple of tables inside , but they also have a small patio seating area. Now to the food. I love pupusas, if you know you know about the no fork. lol. The pupusas were delicious, I mean they have to be towards the top of my favorite list. The people were so friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back

Vegan mushroom tacos
Anna B.

Really delicious vegan tacos - the mushrooms were well roasted and juicy. The pickled veg and cilantro topped with spicy salsa made for the perfect kick. We wiped our plates clean. Everything is made fresh so obviously wait time reflects that. Loved it, wish there was more quantity for the price. Will be dreaming about the taste for a while :)

Definitely some of the best bites around, gobble this is a must try for great tacos and pupusas. Stopped in for a taco Tuesday special hours deal with a friend. The carne asada tacos were $1 each on a special and absolutely amazing. Super great flavor and choose your own toppings. I also got a $5 aqua fresca and it was really good. Definitely keep an eye out on their socials for special open to the public days because most of the time it is reservation only. It's a really unique spot and they don't work the way a traditional restaurant does but it's worth it to stop by and experience something different.

Absolutely fantastic! I had the Lions Mane Mushrooms and rice. Excellent portion sizes and flavors for days. Aqua Fresca was best I ever had and service was top notch. Alex was wonderful and attentive. Atmosphere adorable. Must experience in Old Town Abq.

Amazing food and the agua fresca was great as well! Great little place in old town - second time here both were excellent!

Steak papusa plate (and melon aqua fresca with a tajin rim which was out of this world).

A group of us stopped while walking Old Town. The folks working were very kind and welcoming and explained our options. The patio outside is adorable and the whole restaurant is warm and comfortable feeling. I got the steak papusa plate which was delicious and very flavorful. It was all fully made to order. It felt like having lunch at my grandma's house. Highly recommend. Wish I lived closer.

I'm so glad I wandered into this restaurant on Old Town. I had the Best Pupusas I've ever eaten, and such sweet service. Don't overlook this Salvadoran cafe. Darn good food!

Is this business still open? Went on a Saturday at 12:30 for lunch and they were closed

Yes, he still is. Barely hanging on, but he is still running this place. The owner/Chef does have odd hours - I agree! You can always call or text him to place your order to take-out: (505) 975-3969

The food has a little different spice mixture (some lighter or a different blend) and some food items are interpreted a little differently by the chef. Nothing disappointed us. I ordered the Frank Sr's Combo Plate to sample some of my favorites. The surprise here was the green chili sauce and using brisket instead of ground beef. It was the good kind of surprise. My wife ordered Calista's Carne Adovada Plate (brined & marinated pork cushion). Both dishes came with rice and charro beans. We exchanged forks of food across the table and every item (all 7) were a hit. The rice was cooked in chicken broth and butter and the beans had almost no cumino or chili powder but had something else slightly spicy and delicious. I could have eaten a bowl of rice & beans. But the Combo plate and Pork entree were some of the best I've had. Now I know why it is New Mexican food not Mexican food. I will come back and recommend this restaurant to people I know,

Since their business name includes "taco" I had to try them out. I have to say that their tacos are very good with my favorite being the tripitas. I was also curious about their burgers since those seem to be an item that people get. I ordered the monster burger which is a Mexican style burger loaded with all kinds of goodies including winnies and ham. My description of it doesn't do it justice so take a look at my pics. Their tacos are very good but you also need to try one of their burgers, especially if you have a monster appetite.

Felt like that scene in the movie Old School where Will Ferrell is at the house party carrying a couple soda cans and a couple of the kids are daring him to chug. He tells them he promised his wife he wouldn't drink but then caves in after some peer pressure and chugs down that beer and goes "do this again! once it hits your lips, it so good!". That's been me since trying those magnificent tacos. Right away it didn't take me long to find what I wanted. You know I went for the quesabirria combo plate. I had to have me that dip and the exquisite tacos. They got em out in about 15 minutes bringing them directly to my car. I was so excited to try them I only made it across the street parking at the Panera so I could dig right it. I should've waited til I at least had a table to sit at cuz man that was messy but oh so good. The amount of cheese and meat combined with all the fixings, some lime juice, and of course a couple dips with each bite of the consume. It was heavenly. I'm glad I had a rather large collection of fast food napkins in my car with me. I really enjoyed the presentation of the tacos. Not to mention the chill vibes of the staff.
