I've been going to this nail salon for over two years and have been a loyal customer. Ayla used to do my nails consistently and I loved her quality of work and service. She went on a permanent leave and I've been disappointed with my services since. Today, I went to get my nails done at 39 weeks pregnant, which is my last appointment before my baby arrives and I went with the intention of relaxing. James did my nails. I was the only customer and he rushed through my gel manicure in 30 minutes. He was extremely rude throughout my service when I kindly asked if we could change or adjust my nail shape, to the point where I left my appointment in tears. I also asked if I could add a cuticle clean-up to my service, and they still don't look like any attention was given to them after I paid for this added service. I'm so disappointed in the lack of compassion and empathy for a loyal customer, who is also 9 months pregnant. Unfortunately I will be finding a new nail salon after paying $70 for a 30 minute manicure service where I was spoken to and treated so poorly. read more

I got my nails done by Quincy after seeing the good reviews on here. I went to get my nails done for prom and my friend said this was a good place to go. I couldn't decide on the design I wanted but she was patient with me and helped me lay out my options. She told me exactly what she was doing and made sure to ask if I wanted something before doing it. She made them almost identical to the reference photo (the black background) . I was late 10 minutes late but she got me out within an hour. These are my favorite nails I've ever gotten. They were really expensive for gel extensions and the design though but they're so well done. read more

Would not recommend. The women and girls that work here are rude, bad attitude, and extremely racist. As a black woman I don't get treated with the same level of care and respect as the white women. It's very strange because we're equally paying for the same service and the same amount but these women clearly don't like servicing women of color. If you are a black woman I would not go to this business ever. After 4 times of being mistreated here I will never go back even though I live so close. Vibe is bad! Also two of my nails lifted after ONE DAY. She Didn't do the gel x correctly. She was so rude and looked like she hated her job. I wouldn't recommend this salon, unfortunately this was my first and last time going. The quality of my acrylic fill wasn't great, there were flies buzzing around the room, and to top it all off they added a crazy $10 "shape change" charge. I'm pretty easygoing and don't expect perfection from the average salon, but I had to write this review. To be honest, the $10 extra charge is what really left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't realize they added it until I had already left, although I did think the $57 price was steep for a basic acrylic fill when I paid. I'm just not a confrontational person, so I was nervous to say anything at the register. When I checked the receipt later I was so surprised to see the extra charge. As if I really have to explain the absurdity of a TEN DOLLAR "shape change" charge, I attached a photo of what my nails looked like when I came in (the pink ones). ALL THEY DID was cut my nails shorter. That's it. Also, when the tech first asked what I wanted, I said "I'll do shorter please" and she said "Okay same shape then?" and I said YES. Obviously it's pretty impossible to do coffin on such a short nail, so I was expecting it to be more square anyways, but come on, ten dollars for what?! Using a nail cutter?! I feel pretty robbed. Small side note, she was in a hurry pretty much the whole time. She cut my nails without showing me how far down the nail cutter was before cutting it, which resulted in my nails being shorter than I was wanting. Her rushing also just meant the polish was a little messy on the edges but that's minor I guess. All in all, save your money and go somewhere else that's cleaner and doesn't sneakily add ridiculous upcharges. read more

I had a terrible experience near the end of my appointment. First I had specifically asked for a certain technician and had called the day before to confirm. Once I got there, they let me know that they said that they weren't coming in but have other technicians available. Fine, I'm already there. I asked for a simple almond shaped (natural nails no acrylics) gel French tips, with 6/10 of my nails having a simple extra design. From start to finish, it took an hour and a half and that's only because I requested to leave. Not sure how long I would have been held hostage if I didn't say anything. During this time, I asked the technician three separate times what the final cost would be. First couple of times he said he didn't know and will have to ask, and finally said $30. I said last time I paid around $50, and he said that I overpaid. Fine, but hey at least I'm getting the right price now. I ask to leave and head to the check out, and the lady hits me with "$70" as my total. After some back and forth, the technician said that the $30 he said was just for the gel, and that since last time I only did a normal French tip it was $50. Tell me, does anyone ask about the cost of something and expect only partial information? Should know better. Fortunately, my nails turned out well (as they should at that price). However, extremely deceptive and I will not be going back even thought this is a very convenient location for me. I rather drive further and not get misled. read more

I've been going here for pedicures the last year since making a move from Mission Hills to Carlsbad. Pedicures have been fine but I feel like that's standard for any modern nail salon. I get nervous when finding anyone to do my nails because I'm a stickler on shape, thickness and quality. I decided to book an appointment with Ayla because she had the most reviews I could find and I'm happy I did. She's sweet and did her best to nail down exactly what I want/like. The first go we did a natural nail using Gelx and while I see where it could work for some, it wasn't for me. Yesterday we went with the gel hybrid and I'm really loving it. I left no tip. Best nail salon I've been to in north county. After I got a terrible acrylic manicure at another salon I called this place after seeing some of the pictures of what seemed like quality work. They had an appointment available with Ayla the same day so I went to try to get a passable manicure. The results were honestly unbelievable. Ayla made my nails absolutely perfect. The salon offers so many colors of acrylic that I had a hard time deciding. I had no idea a glitter ombré could be done with acrylic powder and was so happy they offered it. There are a few other things that really stood out to me. The salon offers online booking if you do it a day in advance. If you forget they have salon managers that can help you. Everyone in the salon was very friendly and I was even offered a drink. The price is also lower than other salons in north county. Needless to say I will be coming back! They ran 20 min. late, when the "manager Albert" started doing my nails, phone rang and he spent another 15 minutes answering questions on phone while I sat waiting. I have been here before and it's more expensive than other places but got the job done. Yesterday, I had the absolute worst experience in my life here. I have never, in my 20 years of getting my nails done every two weeks experienced something this terrible. The guy who did my nails was horrible. First, I wanted sheer pink which people always ask me if I want a sheer pink under for my gel French manicure. He put a maroon color on. Not sheer maroon but actually maroon which I don't know why if I made it very clear that I was getting a French gel manicure. Then, he put two other equally terrible colors on. The two employees next to him had to help him find a sheer base because he wasn't understanding what I was saying. . Then, he could not get the white lines even. I asked for him to just make one white longer because they were all different lengths but I was just going to deal with it because I was getting frustrated that he wasn't understanding and I'm not a confrontational person. The other employees just kept pointing and laughing like I was some joke to them. After that, I said just make one of the white tips longer and he made it shorter. I realized that we were getting nowhere so I just said to remove all of the white and I would just go somewhere else. Three employees came over and I very clearly said that I was just wanting a simple French gel manicure and it's frustrating that the man doing my nails doesn't understand me and the other employees around are just laughing and looking at my nails. Then, I made it clear that I would just go somewhere else to get the whites and I asked for him to just put the top coat on so I could go somewhere else that does know how to do a French manicure. I explained to the lady at the front desk as I was paying that I would like to speak to a manager or owner. She said that one was not available. I then said I just wanted the name of the owner or manager because I have not ever been treated so terribly and had so many people around but nobody trying to help and instead just laugh and speak about it in a language I didn't understand. She said she could take a message and give it to the manager. I then explained that she cannot just tell the manager and that the concerns that I have are multiple and I feel very disrespected and that I never and have never, in literally 20 years, complained once. I'm not a confrontational person at all but this was above and beyond terrible service. Another female employee that I had not interacted with then came over and said can I help with something. I explained the situation and she then said that he couldn't do the white lines for my gel French manicure tips because the sheer base color that I picked is not popular. I then said this was the fourth polish that he put on my nails and I finally just gave in and said yes to the base polish. I said so you are blaming me, the customer, for having a sheer nail polish just like any other time I have gotten a gel French manicure. She said yes, it is your fault for picking the base sheer color. Nobody tried to help fix anything, all of the employees were just observing but nobody was trying to help at all. I then called today and asked to speak with the manager or owner. The man that answered said he was on vacation. I said okay can I please have his or her name and I would call back. The man refused to just tell me the owner managers name. He said he could take a message and I said no thank you I would prefer just explaining my concerns to the manager and he then just hung up on me. Again, I'm not confrontational at all. I never complain even when lines aren't the same length, nails are crooked, none of it. But this experience was absolutely horrific and I am just trying to save other people from having to be treated the way that I was treated. read more
