The photos are 11 days AFTER I had the mani/pedi. Plenty of lesser quality manicures look OK the day of, the real test is how it stands up over time. And I haven't babied this manicure - I've been to work, typed, opened cans of soda etc. To make it even more amazing, I was an out-of-towner traveling to SoCal for a wedding, so Sarah knew that there would be little chance I would be able to return any time in the near future. She still did an amazing job which IMO is the mark of a true professional. I do visit SoCal about 2x a year and if she's available I'll put off getting a manicure done locally to have her do it!

Sarah is my go to, I will go nowhere else. Super easy to talk to and very talented. She did not have much to work with given how bad my nails were but she worked some serious magic and they feel so healthy. Will be back to maintain, she is super knowledgeable and really got that I'm trying to develop new healthy nail habits. Her salon is so soothing and calm, great place to relax in. read more

I had been going to a neighborhood "walk-in" nail salon and was unhappy about the results. A friend recommended Sarah and I have not stopped going to her! She does such an amazing job with Shellac and Gel! I would not call her a nail technician - she is a nail artist. She can do glitter, polka dots (my favorite), foil, and swirl. Sarah was wonderful! My mom and I came to her to get our nails done before my wedding - she did a fantastic job. My gel manicure was beautiful, and is still holding up great after all if the wedding madness I put it through. The pedicure was perfect too. Very relaxing environment, charming and friendly. Sarah is impossible to get in touch with. There HAS to be a better way to make contact with your clients. Sarah gave me some bullshit excuse about her having problems with her phone. I don't buy it. Sarah is THE BEST. She's precise, quick, and her work is HIGH quality! I've never had a crookedly filed or imperfectly painted nail leave her station - and I am really picky! My gel mani's from Sarah last at least 4 weeks, usually 5. She's super gentle removing gel polish - which is NOT the case at most places. Not only will you leave with a great mani or pedi, but she's sweet and funny, too; you'll have a great time! I like being able to make appointments by text, it's super quick and easy, she always gets right back to you. Is she 'cheap?' No, but her work is worth every penny!! read more

Love Sarah! This review is long overdue. Sadly I can't go to her anymore for fun shellac because of my new job, but I used to love getting glitter and the candy corn shellac for halloween. She really loves what she does and is always trying to find fun new designs or to make herself better. The only thing that I would say thats tough is getting an appointment with her. She is her own single person so you can imagine how busy she can get, but it doesn't help much when you don't have a set schedule. That is the only thing I would take a star off for is just booking the appointment. Other than that love her! read more

I unfortunately went somewhere else for a pedicure and because of the lack of English spoken I didn't get what I wanted. Found Sarah through Yelp and called her. She fixed my problem and proceeded to give me a fabulous pedicure and finished the whole procedure off with a OPI gel polish. My tootsies look gorgeous now! Thank you Sarah! If you are in Carlsbad and want a great manicurist she is your girl! read more

My review is long overdue, but Sarah is amazing. She is the sole nail tech l in a quaint salon in Carlsbad Village. It was very easy to schedule appointments with her by text message and she was very accommodating in scheduling appointments that worked around my schedule. She is extremely friendly and meticulous. She has a great selection of quality polishes (Shellac, OPI and Vinylux) and it is very apparent that everything she uses is very sanitary and clean. Her prices are quite a bit higher than your traditional strip mall nail salon, but well worth it for her quality work and the piece of mind that all of her basins and tools are clean and sanitary. I would highly recommend Sarah and would recommend her to anyone looking for a great nail technician! read more

I've been going to Sarah for over a year now. She does such an amazing job. My nails always look great and she is so creative. She can made mine look sophisticated, normal, holiday, fun, and wow! I have even brought in a picture from a magazine and replicated it right at that appointment. She also made my toes match (one of my quirks). Her foot massages are the best too! She is strong and really hits the pressure points. read more

This made me write my 1st Yelp review. Sarah did a good job! However, be warned that a regular pedicure is $50 & I didn't see the prices being listed anywhere. I've been getting pedicures for years but getting charged $50 + tip was the first!! Insanely overpriced for a simple pedicure in my opinion. read more

There are alot of people out there that can and can not do what she does but the bigger and better picture is you won't be disappointed and you will have a good friendly environment, very good vibes and a very good conversations. i was enticed by the really cool and creative pictures on yelp to book an appointment with Sarah. i got glitter gel nails and a regular polish pedicure. she is very personable and the salon has a nice setting. she does a great job and has lots of options to choose from like shiny foil and glitter for gel nails. she really enjoys what she does and having all her creative options. i will just say that i did have quite a bit of sticker shock when i got a $90 bill for my gel mani and regular pedi. i think if i go back i will just get one or the other. read more

$35 for gel nails. I was out in 40 minutes. The salon is really cute. She has her own area of the house, so it was nice - a little removed from the stylists. She has a very friendly personality, very upbeat without being fake or too talkative. She really enjoys what she does. Great experience and they turned out very nicely. read more

Sarah is wonderful. She has nursed my nails back to health and they look great. I had to get an emergency manicure elsewhere when traveling, and the nail tech said that she was really impressed with Sarah's skills and was embarrassed that she couldn't do as good a job (and it wasn't even close). Right when we walked in, I wasn't thrilled with the appearance....but we were visiting for just a…read moremonth and I wasn't familiar with salons in the area, so I had called to make appointments for me and my daughter ahead of time. Anyway, decided to let it go and give a try. The lady who did my pedicure was nice, but definitely saw some unsanitary things she was doing with the gloves she was using on me, and randomly walking away to touch other things. The lady who did my daughter's nails was really nice, and she was happy. However, the experience with my manicure was AWFUL! First of all, I had asked for dip - and they agreed. Turned out they only did base as dip and then did gel for the actual color....within a couple days it was already chipping, which is why I like to do dip. The worst thing, which is what brought me to write this review - is how horribly bumpy they were. The dip was very uneven, literally looked deformed. Then the gel color wasn't fully covering the nail, looked SO bad from the sides. Honestly, looked horrible from all angles! After I paid and washed my hands, I could tell just how poorly done they were. The tech sort of pointed out that they got smudged at one point, and tried blaming it on when i put my hands under the light...but then did another coat and pretended they were fixed. But she was in a rush for the next customer, so she shoved it off as fine. After I was done washing my hands I pointed it out to the other 2 ladies who had helped us (because that gal was with the other customer already). Everyone agreed they needed to get re-done, but I didn't have time to get them re-done. They said I could come back, but really didn't want to. I asked for a refund on the $60 but it got declined repeatedly. Ended up going to MandyQ Nails Art and they fixed them, and was very happy with their work - but not pleased I never got a refund on the worst nails I've ever had from "Popular Nails".
