The nail tech I had failed at the gel on my toes... he was messing with it alot too (with a file?) and had to have known it was going to peel off immediately. Instead of fixing it, he sent me off. The first coat probably was not fully dried (needed more time in the blue light) before he applied the second. Plus the scrub could have been longer! He barely wiped it on me before washing it off. I'm new to the area and I was really excited to try this place because of all the great reviews. I was unfortunately very disappointed. I got a pedicure and a hard gel manicure. The person who did my pedicure clipped very close to my skin and it bled. I did feel a little pain but by the time I looked down there was a piece of cotton ball put on it and I couldn't see if there was blood until I got in my car. They also cut off too much on the side of my big toe kind of at an angle and it looks uneven. I have never had that happened before at other places I've gone to. I also do think the cuticle care could've been better. It just looks very poorly done. During my manicure the tech got started and fully removed my old set when another customer voiced out that they didn't have time for their service and she needed someone to get started on her. The person doing my manicure gets up in the middle of my service and starts to work on the other woman. So I was sitting there wasting time. I was very upset that I was pushed to the side. When the tech came back I noticed that the work was very rushed and my nails came out unevenly shaped. I asked for them to be cut and evened out since I had some growth but the tech just filed them however fit. I didn't say anything to either techs because I just wanted to leave since both services were disappointing. read more

One of the worst pedicures I've ever gotten. First time my toe bled. My friend was getting married and wanted to get her nails done before her big day. We chose Creatips because they picked up and we made appointments. I'm all for supporting local businesses and my people. So when they f*cked up, I'm not going to go Karen or take their money. I do want people to know that this is the first time I ever bled. The lady who did my pedicure clipped away my cuticle so closed to my skin and it bled, and she kept going. I felt a short pain but couldn't tell what she wasn't doing and didn't see the blood until after I got home to inspect. At the spa, she had a cotton ball on it. I didn't know it was bad. I usually have trust in these ladies and I have a high pain tolerance. See photos of my right toe that had blood around it. The nail polish job was bad too. And my friends pedicure was bad because they rushed it because they had a walk in and missed many areas. She had to tell them multiple time and show them. Their quality control needs improvement. Or maybe teach their ladies not to cut your cuticles away. Bleeding is a bad sign. Gotta go get a tetanus shot now. read more

The space is nice and the staff is friendly, but unfortunately I can't recommend this salon based on the manicure and pedicure I received yesterday. The attention to detail was really lacking. I chose a polish color from their display, but it turned out to be nearly empty and unusable. They replaced it with a completely different brand and shade--close, but not the same. I could've overlooked that if the actual polish job had been decent, but it wasn't. The layers were uneven, the tips weren't finished, and on several nails, the polish didn't even reach the edge. Same story with the pedicure. Add to that bubbling from the fan. Overall it was just a disappointing experience. I'd suggest skipping this one. read more

Been coming here semi-regularly for the past 2 years. I like the quality of work almost 90% of the time. The staff are friendly and the decor is always very cute and modern. I was excited to try this place since the reviews were great. Sadly I was disappointed. I got a pedicure (which is great) and a full set with gel. I normally get Gel X but they said they didn't have time but can do a full set. Which seemed odd since it's the same thing. The person doing the acrylic dropped it all over my fingers, had to scrape and reapply the acrylic multiple times. And then left it to dry so my skin on my finger is stuck to the acrylic nail. There's left over residue all over my fingers. Some nails are crooked and also none of my nails reach my cuticle causing it to look grown out after just 1 day. This was probably the worst set I've ever had and I left disappointed and Ive been scraping acrylic off of my fingers for the last day. read more

I absolutely love this nail salon. Daniel is my favorite. I can show him a picture of whatever design, shape, or color and he will make it happen. It always comes out better than the picture. But to be fair I have gotten my nails done multiple times from the other nail technicians when he was busy or off for the day and each time they come out exactly how I want them. I've given this place a try 3x now. One time I called ahead and asked for an appt for my daughter, and then just partial gel removal for myself (I had like 4 nails where the gel had not come off on its own yet). Young girl on phone agreed and said both of us could come in at so and so time. We get there, and they only take my daughter and the same girl says "no I didn't say you have appt. You have to wait. I'll see if I can fit u in". So I sat and waited and she acted like she was doing me a giant favor squeezing me in for a service that took all of 5 minutes. Just overall, really rude. Next time I go in for a pedicure and the younger guy did a decent job. The gel pedicure lasted for over a month which was great as I rarely have time to ever get any services done for myself. I decide to get a pedicure again, called again for an appointment, and show up on time. I get an older guy... this guy really should not be doing any services. He managed to cut me with the heel scrubber. Not only that, he didn't seem to clean the cuticle areas very well. This is evident as when he went to wipe off the excess lotion with a towel (after already painting on the gel), an entire gel polish on one toe nail came off in one piece. Just flaked right off. I don't know if it's the lack of cuticle care, lack of proper prep for the gel polish to adhere, but he needs to be retrained. The entire service just felt half assed...plus non-working massage chairs, and jaggey edges on the polish... I still tipped lol. I get home, and that night, 3 toes had completely missing polish, I found the entire piece of polish on the floor later lol. Do I have the effing time to go back in the next day for them to repaint? No... I barely have time between working beyond full time hours and juggling 3 kids... and I didn't want to deal with their attitude again despite me having time stamped pictures to prove it. So beware of the old dude and attitudey younger girl if you go here. 2 stars for the young dude and his quality of gel Pedicure. The end, thanks for listening. Lol. read more

I am new to the area and I been to a lot of salons but this was not it. I went in for a regular pedicure and the lady with short hair who attended me did not know what the hell she was doing. It took 3 people to take care of me. I was so shocked when she wasn't even wearing gloves while handling customers. Honestly that's so unsanitary. I am from LA I since worse and this is the worst. I stopped her half way. She was too rough cut my nails way too short. Looked like she didn't wanna be there. It took three people to try to fix my service, but one of them try to justify that they take out ingrown at the end of service after your polish cause she the only one who knows how. Oh my gosh-let me start out by saying I lived in San Diego for 25+ years and have been to dozens of nail salons here. Even some of the really "high end" ones you see in Del Mar and La Jolla, and NOTHING compares to Creatips. Best nail salon I've ever come across. The staff is so friendly and it's probably the cleanest salons I've ever been to. They have a variety of services and colors and are experts. Everyone does a fantastic job. I saw Bell a week ago for a quick eyebrow wax and she did a great job. I'm pretty picky about my eyebrows but she really made them look great. I came back a few days later for nail removal (I had these awful long gel x nails for a wedding) and a gel manicure. Bell took her time and really worked gently on removing the gel x nails without damaging my natural nails. She was so meticulous and detail oriented and my nails looked amazing even before the gel manicure. They weren't thin or uneven--she really worked diligently to get them off and keeping the integrity of my nails in tact. I've never had that before--usually my nails are damaged by the removal process. She took her time with the shape and tidying up my cuticles and had no problem swatching colors for me when I couldn't make up my mind. She took her time being precise with the polish and it's the best manicure I've ever gotten. My nails have NEVER looked better. I wish I didn't live across the country because I'd be in here every 2-3 weeks to get my nails done. I cannot wait to come back and see Bell. She did such an amazing job. Even my mom went for a hard gel manicure after she saw what a great job they did on my eyebrows and she was thrilled with the way her nails looked. She can't wait to come back either. They're also so incredibly kind and remember their customers! I'm recommending Creatips to all my family and friends now.
