Ready? Set. Go Greek! Man, I could come up with some really corny/cheesy slogans for a lot of places. After reading that beginning I understand you quitting on this review. That's all fine and dandy, but if you don't continue reading, you'll be missing out on a couple of paragraphs explaining the tastiness that is Go Greek. My fiancée and I partook in their Mediterranean morsels a few weeks ago as we were not too far away from this storefront. Well, we were definitely far from the original Go Greek spot in Garden City. I/We had been there a few times, but now with our new eastern living quarters, this Bohemia Go Greek works perfectly for us. I will say that compared to Garden City, Bohemia blows the OG spot out of the Mediterranean Sea in aesthetics. The vines, fairy lights, rustic/contemporary designs, and the hints of Grecian turquoise really makes the place fancy yet cozy. Moving on from the interior, we'll get to the grub. Go Greek's menu looked a little more extensive than the one I remember seeing over in Garden City, which you might say is a positive, but honestly this overwhelmed me a bit. The simpler setup was what I had been used to, but after familiarizing myself with some of the same menu items, we were ready to order. We split a rice bowl with beef/lamb gyro, some spicy feta with pita, and a side of Go fries. Once ordered from the friendly staff, we grabbed a seat and waited only a few minutes for our food. It was interesting that everything was served in paper containers like the kind you might get from a food truck at a carnival. This wasn't a negative, but made it hard to share our items. We opted to ask for a few extra containers to split things up which definitely helped. Starting with the rice bowl, the meat was plentiful with that perfect gyro taste. The onion and tomato amidst the rice helped to break up the eventually-rich flavor of the gyro meat. The spicy feta was pretty flavorful as usual, while the Go fries were near perfection. The smell of potatoes hooked into me from when we first walked in so chowing down on some fresh French fries with feta on top hit the spot. Overall, Go Greek of Bohemia is a great little location that could honestly be underrated amidst the strip mall of stores it finds itself in. They have quality Greek food at a reasonable price with a nice little interior worthy of eating at. Oh and they deliver to the area (and potentially to us) so a few more visits might just be in order and to potentially solidify an experience that fell just short of five stars. So what are you waiting for? Go (Greek, har har)! read more

No! Won't do it again our whole meal went in the garbage. As soon as we walked in and saw the older woman sitting at a booth with piles of paperwork and plates of old dried up food around her we should have known. Neither she not the gentleman welcomed us we kind of looked at each I guess we just sit anywhere. We sat a few minutes they ignored us until we asked are we supposed to order at the counter.. Yes..ok . The portions are large but the chicken skewers were cooked in advance and so dry they were inedible and smelled off.. of course they were sitting on the lovely greek salad which had only three olives but tons of cucumbers and tomatoes, I was a bit afraid to eat it with the weird smelling chicken on top so figured I would eat the soup and pita. I love Avgolemono and make my own at home - this was NOT that the rice was mush must sit for long periods of time and be reheated, again smelled off I didn't chance it. S had the chicken gyro again meat smelled off and had a weird taste.. so afraid to get sick we threw everything out and left the owners didn't even notice us (the only customers), though the garage was right in front of the counter. I don't suspect they will be open for long. I gave two stars more like 1.5 (being generous) because the pita was warm and soft. But they cut it in fours, maybe a guest might want to make a sandwich from their skewers as I did? Why cut it all up unless requested?! read more

I was on the hunt for portokalopita (orange cake) and this was a spot that finally had some. Decided to also grab dinner. This spot is mainly a take out place, but I dined in. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large but the flavors were off. The rice was dry and bitter and the sumac was a bit heavy without much other seasoning. Also tried the orange cake and it tasted like it was sitting a few days so it was dense but flavors were otherwise okay. As far as Greek food goes, there are so many places along Long Island so I would personally skip this spot. Service was quick and helpful and the sitting area was quite large and comfy. read more

Quick & easy to find place! So no photos because we are our falafels so quickly! This place was to help us alleviate the hangry we both felt at 2:40 when you've worked all day & haven't had a chance to eat yet! The place hit it right in the mark! Quick, clean, excellent service and delicious food! The owners were so kind when we finished and were headed out but ran back to add the little baklava to our order & they just gave it to us for feee! Don't miss that stuff, if you're in and they have it-it was awesome, too! We'll definitely be back when we're working in the area! read more

Everything is so tasty! Their lemon potatoes, tzatziki and lentil soup are my absolute favorites, and the best lentil soup I've had! The owners are super nice. Love this authentic Greek spot! read more

This is my favorite Greek "hole in the wall" in Suffolk. The food is fresh. I come here especially for the desserts and frappe. The rice pudding is a little lumpy, yet smooth and is served in a huge bowl. The kourabiedes (Greek wedding cookie) is heavenly. The frappe is so frothy! For those of you who don't know what it is: A frappe is iced coffee, topped with heaping tablespoons of cold foam. The drink is made from instant coffee (Greek Nescafé) . Tin cans of Nescafé are available for purchase to make the drink at home. The fried zucchini is tongue coating. The falafel is so crisp and flavorful that it does not need any of the tzatziki sauce that accompanies it. The spinach pie tastes like the spinach was just picked off the plant. This is the only place where I can buy a chicken gyro that tastes like roasted chicken that was just taken out of the oven. The lamb gyro tastes like a Sunday dinner leg of lamb. I can go on and on. There are tables for on-site dining. However, most customers order take out. Prices are relatively high, but you get what you pay for--good quality and huge portions. The owner and staff are professional and a delight to speak with. COVID-19 protocols are adhered to. I definitely recommend this restaurant. It is conveniently located, off the Sunrise Highway. Free parking is available in the lot, which has a strip mall. WARNING!! The restaurant also does curbside pickup, but it does not deliver. SO NO GRUBHUB OR DOORDASH. read more

Today I happened to come across Go Greek while running into Meat farms. I love a good gyro so I thought I would give it a try. I was met at the door by who I think was the owner, who kindly held the door for me. I went to the counter where Kylie took my order and explained how to order what I wanted. She was very helpful. I ordered the lamb gyro combo with fries and drink, which came to Under $14. I sat in one of there booths (4 in total) and within a couple of minutes, they brought me my food. I was extremely impressed with what I received. The gyro was delicious and overstuffed with meat, not all the fillings... you know, lettuce tomatoe etc. This was probably the first time I was able to eat a gyro without having all that stuff going all over the place. It was just perfect with the lettuce and the very generous portion of meat. The side of fries were also huge too! The restaurant is nothing fancy, but a nice place to eat if you choose to stay in. They had about 5 tables. In addition to the booths. Masks were worn as well as gloves. The restaurant was clean. Everything was delicious. Kylie and the other person at the counter were very nice, and I will certainly return again. read more

Probably the worst greek food in the area. It sucks because it's not far from where I live but I've tried them a couple of times for dinner and I regret it every time. The gyro just tastes like low quality ingredients. My wife has ordered a couple of different items too and she said the same thing. I'm honestly surprised they're still in business. Staff is nice but the food needs a full makeover read more

It couldn't happen to a nicer guy, so glad to see the expansion of Go Greek. In Suffolk county no less?! I'm a fan of the Garden City Go Greek and have enjoyed their platters, gyro sandwiches and Greek delicacies. Yelp pointed out there was a new business, I knew I had to take my wife for lunch over the weekend. Walking in, it gives almost a pizza place vibe. Tables and booths in the front and in the back is where the lamb is forever spinning under the warmer. Lots of nice Greek selections to choose from, I chose a salad base topped with gyro meat. My wife likes that choice and orders the same thing. I was hoping she'd try something different so I could also sample but all I can do is smile and come back for other dishes. The counter person was very friendly, I told him I love the Garden City location and I wish you much success here. Our food is brought to our table while we're chatting. The most important item, there's no Greek Beer?! I was so looking forward to having that with my lunch. The lamb? Totally on point, juicy and flavorful. Topped with a dollop of tzatziki, just the perfect meal to have at Go Greek. The folks sitting next to us, a very nice couple starting talking to us about the other location as well as various Greek restaurants in Suffolk county. Long Islanders are friendly folks and enjoy sharing their favorite places. This is now one of ours. It's far for me to travel from Stony Brook but so worth the drive. *There a great spot in Port Jeff for the next Go Greek location. Folks, one of my favorite Greek restaurants on our Long Island. Very disappointing and they should be embarrassed. I ordered a custom lamb gyro, and it might as well just be called a French fry gyro. There was maybe 4 small pieces of lamb, and it wasn't great quality either. The tzatziki sauce wasnt great either. I've had plenty of gyros and this was by far the least amount of meat I was ever given in one. Usually you need to take some out to eat the gyro. Just terrible all around, I wish I could give 0 stars. read more

If you're looking for flavorful Greek food, Go Greek is the place to go! Every bite was full of deliciousness. I got the shrimp skewers, spinach pie and Greek salad with chicken gyro and was not disappointed. Of course I had to take a lot of home because servings are large! Friendly service. Ambiance is very casual, you can dine in, but there's no waitress service-although they do bring the food out to you. I can't wait to go back, and try so much more of the menu! read more

If I was able to give half points, I would award a 3.5. Nothing was "bad" per se but also nothing to write home about. First up, the portions are VERY generous. I initially was skeptical at the price of the plates but you pay $22 and you absolutely get $22+ worth of food. Off to a good start. Sadly, the food was dry all around including both the meat and the falafel. We did order at the end of the night so perhaps that's the reason why. We had to lather everything in sauce to bring some moisture. The fries, while seasoned well, were not cooked long enough (note: did not stop me from eating them all). My other "complaint" would be some items seem like they come from a container including the pickled onions and grape leaves. Overall my belly and wallet were satisfied read more

I want to love this Greek restaurant since I need a great local spot. I have tried Go Greek several times over the last year and each time I am underwhelmed. They seems to use fresh, good quality ingredients which is a huge plus and main reason they get 3 stars. Sadly the flavorings are all mediocre at best. The worst of what I have tried is the lemon chicken soup. Usually my favorite dish from a greek spot, but this one is completely flavorless, with no hint of lemon at all. Today I was also saddened by their side greek salad. It was smaller than the image on their order online option and didn't have a grape leaf as pictured either. For $6 I expected a little bit bigger than I received. One other thing I really appreciate about this spot is their clear gluten free labeling. I will probably give them a try in a pinch but never again the soups! read more

Go Greek can't be beat! Some of the best Greek salads and beef/lamb gyros you can get. Generous proportions and warm pita included with the salad. Me and my wife are frequent visitors. Just ordered through uber eats. Fries on the pita were raw, pita is stale, and sauce is runny. This is not like my past experiences!

The gyro was so fresh and delicious. There was so much meat I actually split it in half for two meals. Yummy.

Greek food holds a special place in my heart so I was VERY excited to try out this spot. The interior design is bright, fun, and friendly! The menu was clear and easy to navigate, and the server was very helpful in explaining different options for combos. We ordered a Lamb Gyro combo, Shrimp plate with rice, side salads, and baklava. We didn't wait very long and the food was brought to our table. Everything tasted very fresh, well but not over-seasoned, and was affordable! I look forward to my next visit. read more

I've gone here at least 4 times for lunch/dinner. It was too expensive for below average food. The lamb is always dry, and I constantly have to remind them to give me ketchup for my french fries. Finally got the chance to try this spot after reading many positive reviews. Ordered through yelp and it was quick and easy. Interior seemed clean with a good amount of seating so I'd like to come back (post covid) and try the dine in route. Overall though I think this is a nice option for Greek food. -Lamb Gyro: 4/5, I've had many gyros in my life but this was one of the better ones. Very fresh and soft pita. The lamb was different than any other I've had before. It wasn't the typical thin/dried meat, and it wasn't cubed like some places do either. It was thicker and much more tender. Tasted fresher than other places. -Lemon Oregano Brown Rice: 2/5, luckily I like plain brown rice because that's essentially all this was. No flavor or anything, just brown rice. Cooked well though. Overall, as mentioned it's nice to know this place is an option when the craving for Greek kicks in. Is it the best? No. Is it bad? No. I thought it was odd to not have a falafel appetizer option because I really would've liked to tried them, but from a first impression it's a place I'd come back to and try another meal out. read more

Update: I am totally bummed out at how the quality of the food has declined. This is still the very best Greek salad I've ever had outside my own home BUT my last 2 orders have been a huge disappointment. I ordered dinner last week that ended up in the garbage. It was a delivery order but the (wrong) food I hat was just inedible. The fried zucchini was burnt and bitter. ( I know.., just like me!) but the Bifteca was partially overcooked and partially undercooked..,SMH. Today's lunch order was just unseasoned altogether. The gyro had no flavor but the raw onions and tzatziki... meat was tough and fatty. I think I have to throw on the towel and find a new place. read more

So, my first time at the new Go Greek location was mixed, and I think a lot of that has to do with them having opened not so long ago. (The wait time was much longer than I anticipated, so I think they have a few kinks to work out as far as balancing dine-in, phone, and delivery orders.) Other than that, my first experience at Go Greek Bohemia was a great one. I'm happy to report that the food was delicious - I ordered a lettuce bowl with gyro meat and veggies. The gyro meat and tzatziki sauce were especially fantastic, and the prices were right. The place itself is really nice. Really modern decor. Nice blue tones. A decent amount of seating. This particular location has changed hands over the years (it was a sandwich place, a different Greek place, etc.) so to see it renovated so nicely and serving awesome food is super exciting! I'll definitely be heading back for lunch soon. read more

Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks the food is absolutely terrible!!! The service might be worse, not sure tho. It's a toss up. Being a local, we wanted to love it here and even tried over 3x, each time being disappointed and hungry because food either went to the dogs or the garbage. But on this occasion, when I finally called to complain, I was greeted by the rudest "child" who answered the phone and tried blaming me for their garbage, cold, old food. Telling me I was 30 min late to pick it up when I have actual receipts we were there less than 10 min after the order was placed. This obnoxious counter girl then proceeded to hang up on me. I called back and again was met with absolute rudeness...so she was shocked when I gave it back!! We will NEVER be back. Especially because it ended with a round of food poisoning! read more

This place has delicious food, but damn, is their food expensive. And why is every Greek place so cheap with the Tzatziki? Half the reason I'm choosing to eat Greek food is so I can have Tzatziki. They want you to buy their large container of tzatziki for $7.00, or else they'll give you none. Just the little dab that they put inside of your pita/sandwich or whatever. This extra tzatziki order usually brings our order price for 2 people at around like $60 or more. After we realized eating here literally lowers our quality of life due to the price, we stopped ordering. Lower your prices or at least give some free tzatziki, Jesus Christ read more

When I 1st came here I was very skeptical about how it would be. I AM VERY PICKY ABOUT MY FOOD ESPECIALLY GREEK! I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into a immaculately clean restaurant. The lady behind the counter greeted me in such a warm and inviting manor I couldn't help give their lamb gyro a try. My grandmother ordered their chicken souvlaki. Well I have to say it was absolutely fantastic and one of my favorite places to eat! We come in 3 or 4 times a month and we don't live that close. Ordered from here through Door Dash. The food came fairly quickly as I don't live that close by. It was delicious. The salad was fresh, as well as the grilled shrimp that I ordered with a nice generous portion of shrimp. The grape leaves were delicious and so was the yogurt sauce. The only thing I would suggest is that they offer a little more sauce because one little cup isn't enough. They did give a very generous portion of pita bread for the hummus which my son loves!! Other than that I truly enjoyed the food!! Thank you read more

We used to really like this place. But since they were bought by new owners, the quality has gone down. The Avgolemono soup is now usually thin and watery, with hardly any chicken, rice, or lemon. Portions of entrées are small. We called to ask how many Greek sausages were in an order, and they said "two". When we opened the box, there were two HALVES! An order of lamb souvlaki had only 4 little cubes on a skewer. It was the same with the side of lemon potatoes. 4 pieces. I don't think we'll be going back, despite the free delivery and $5 off coupons... read more
