They close the whole store while their workers wait for their sandwiches from Ike's. Tried to walk in, locked. Went back to wait for my order at Ike's, but then see a GNC worker walk out of the store to go in to Ike's. So, I walk back to see it's still locked...the worker comes back and says, "sorry I am on my lunch." Unlocks the door, goes inside and says, "it'll be another 10-15 mins." Service 1/5 Non existent. I called before I went to the store to avoid a bunk mission. The staff member who answered the phone seemed aloof regarding my inquiry. I get to the store, no greeting. Just chatter amongst one another. I had to say excuse me to get their attention for help. Selection 2/5 Sadly, what I was looking for they no longer carried. The goal was to find this out over the phone versus wasting gas. There was no substitute that I felt comparable or interested in trying. 2/5 I've infrequently patronized GNC over the years. I have to agree with a lot of the reviews for this place. Every time I stop by to buy pre-workout or Protein powder, they're always on break. Does this place have only 1 staff member every shift at everyday? We have a membership and we can't utilize it either. Really hope this GNC picks it up with their staffing. I walked into the store. I didn't even know if anyone was working because no one said hi to me. After being in the store for about 5 mins 2 more guys came in from what I'm guessing are employees but they just talk to each other again no one asked me if I needed help. I had no idea the GNC in Vallejo moved from Robles to the Plaza. I ran out of protein and with only 30 min left till closing time, I rushed over to their new location! S E R V I C E: I was greeted which was nice, and luckily for me there was a sale on a lot of the protein bars and random tubs of protein and pre-workouts. The two who were working were having a loud conversation about being tired and drinking before work which I thought was...inappropriate to talk about. But then as soon as they were approached by a customer, the guy was completely professional and was able to educate the customer of the new protein shakes he was buying. I was up next to pay, and I had questions about the points I've had so far, and he helped me save an extra $15 with my points! O V E R A L L: It sucks people have had bad experiences with GNC in Vallejo, but I think management noticed that, and hired better, more motivated people to help us out. Nothing really stands out from this GNC versus others, except for one thing: The Staff. All products offered you can find in other GNC stores, so there is no specific product you'll find here that you won't find at another location. You may find a specific flavor or option at this one that you may not find at another location though. For example, I found the Syntha-6 Birthday Cake remix flavor at this location that I did not see at the Fairfield or Pinole locations. What stood out here was my experience with (I think) Derek. He had a great personality, knew how to hold conversation, and was extremely knowledgable in answering questions I had regarding product selection and suggestion. Even after checking out, Derek kept a conversation going which helped secure my business going forward. He had a very professional demeanor but knew how to keep things light-hearted and fun as well. Businesses could use more talent, knowledge, and people skills as Derek. Well done! read more

I've returned a few times and the store has been open. The staff are not always welcoming when you walk in. No greetings or interaction with them. The register is often broken in one way or another so either you can't use cash or you can't use your points or you can't log in or something. We walked in and were greeted; she pointed me in the direction of the product I was looking for and I was able to get four types of their gummies to try: sweetfish, sour blast buddies, fruity gummies, and sour gummies. I often make purchases from this GNC outlet. Most reps here are pretty good with offering information and assistance. However, there's one rep (older female) that could use a good tip on addressing customers with the term, "c'mon man, hey man".
