I normally just shop online but that day I had to return something at a local store. The staff and the manager were very friendly and very helpful, I returned my stuff smoothly and got my money back. One good thing about shopping at the GNC local store over online is that you can check the shelve life of the supplements you are buying in case you want to stock up, their prices are different though in case you want to compare. Parking at this side of the mall was a lot easier that the Walmart side. read more

I had a positive experience here. I went in looking strictly for a tasty protein powder with no Sugar, 20g or more of protein, less than 2g fat and less than 15g carbs. Then gentleman that helped me (I don't remember his name... youngish guy.. short dark hair possibly use to be a boxer or fighter) that helped me asked what I was looking for and gave me 3 recommendations that exactly matched that criteria. When I asked additional questions about protein and what happens when you take too much he got the correct answer. When I tried to suggest a product I was familiar with urged me to stick to the criteria my trainer gave me. I ended up buying a container of Quest protein powder and a shaker cup for $60. The prices for both were spot on with Amazon and other retailers online so I'm happy I didn't waste time ordering. I felt well informed on taking protein powder when I left. A positive review of GNC....gasp. How is this possible? Alas, friends, it is possible. The protein bar gods smiled down on me yesterday...or maybe I just met the sole nice GNC employee in the universe. I usually avoid all GNC's like the plague - pushy service, lacking knowledge, and terrible prices. BUT...... The guy (sorry didn't look at his name tag) hooked me up! I was excited to find some Isopures on sale and a new protein bar I had been meaning to try. He looked at the bar and gave me half off! Score! For once, I walked out of GNC happier than when I walked in. And...gasp once again..I will be back! This location is conveniently near Whole Foods and 24 so it is in my prime area! It is a smaller GNC location, but they had a good sale so that, to me, is most important! read more

Overpriced!!! Customer service is not good it look like they do not wish to have sale at all . Bottle of pills I wish to buy Walmart sell for $ 14.99 you can get it here for almost $29 . I wish to get with bottle of zinc but unfortunately no cooperation. They refused to match the price even on internet was same bottle for $12. read more

Convenient location next to Chase and Chili's at the San Antonio Shopping Center. The staff was really helpful and quick, I just came in to buy some FRS, those little nuggets of energy I will need for my Miami trip. For something quick and convenient, the prices were comparable to the online drug store prices. I think GNC is more tailored towards weight loss/weight control/ and muscle building supplements and powders. They have their own line of supplements as well, so going into the store for their knowledge and recs are probably better than shopping by yourself online. It's right across the street from Vitamin Shoppe also if you want to do some comparison shopping too! read more

Please beware of this store. I purchased bpi health CLA powder on 11/11/2017. I opened it like week ago after my old bottle was over and noticed it had a bad smell and taste. I started having the product like for a week and stop having it because it did not seem right. I purchased a new one from the store and told the clerk about the issue and he said it is like that. However when I brought the new bottle home, I compared it with a new one and it was bad. The new bottle had no smell and the powder color was also different. The African American clerk Dominick said I had to get the receipt to return it which I did not have. He asked me call the 1 866-214-2469 number to ask them to email the receipt. The CSR informed that they cannot provide any receipt because it was purchased in a store. This can be a serious health issue and I will have to report to the FDA. Also I will have to report to the GNC corporate too. See pictures for reference. Also stay away from this store as it is selling bad stale products that can cause serious health issues. read more

I've gone to vitamin shoppe and GNC, and technically, GNC's muscle milk 4lb containers are about a dollar cheaper when on sale, which they usually always are. So I go to GNC for protein powder only, I don't really buy anything else there. So it fits my needs, nothing more to really say about the staff, I go during work lunch break, so they are always there waiting to answer any questions I have. read more

When vitamin shoppe doesn't got the goods... I come in here to buy the AMP series products. They got the "ripped" line of protein and stuff that recently came out. Totally a fan of that. Most of the staff at this location has good product knowledge. Seen one of their members answer a question by simply saying... "well let's take a look at the label." Sure it was an isolated incident and nobody expects you to know every single product in the store, but it made me remember not to ask any real questions while that individual was working. Very friendly staff here otherwise. Also, GNC, Member discounts are now available the entire month and not just the first week. Definitely a plus! read more

I had some of the most terrible shopping experiences here. One time, I had to wait half an hour because they couldn't figure out how to use the cashier. Then another time, I was waiting to pay, and the cashier just kept talking on the phone and ignoring me. I felt so humiliated that I just walked out, and went across the street to the Vitamin Shoppe instead. Of course, the fact that GNC's prices are inordinately higher than other places doesn't help my experience, either. read more

The cashier tried to get me to renew my goldcard 3 months before it expired. I asked if it would then be valid for 15 months and he told me no. He then tried to trick me into renewing it early anyway when I did not need to. I understand that he gets commission for the sales but I did not appreciate him insisting on trying to pull a fast one on me even though I understood that I would be losing money by renewing early. One of the worst experiences with a supplement business ever. After asking for products that could help me with my skin and added energy, it was clear within 10 seconds that the representatives had no idea what they were talking about. It was a good thing that I did a small amount of preliminary research on what I was looking for beforehand. Before finalizing the purchase I was pressured several times into purchasing a Gold Card - of which I had little information on at the time so I decided to wait until I got home and do some research on it before making such a decision. (I have had some rather misleading experiences in the past.) It is worth noting that as I insisted no for the third time, she said 'well sure, okay man if you don't want to save money...' which was just outrageous since I don't like making decisions without being fully informed. I am just glad I was not manipulated into this because... I was surprised and slightly confused at what I found... It turns out that their GNC 'Gold card' is an incredibly deceptive scam. Fact: They raise their prices of the majority (if not all) of their products during the first weeks the 'Gold card' is pertinent, then lower the prices back down again later in the month. This is plain dishonest. The sad thing is that it's not only this GNC specifically, but these underhanded practices are common throughout their branches. This evening, I went to GNC and experienced great customer benefits. Jasmin, the only coworker this evening, was helping another customer at the time I entered. I was greeted when I entered. I took my time to look around, while she was still another women, and she was quick to come to me when she was finished with the other person. She was kind, knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. What I appreciated the most, was that she was truthful about specific products and gave honest feedback that other customers experienced with it. In my web searching for the Omron pedometer I read that it could be purchased at GNC centers. Went yesterday to this GNC store in the San Antonio Shopping Center to purchase a pedometer only to discover the sign is still posted above the store but the store is no longer in existence long gone baby. I've been doing business with GNC for decades. This location is small and has a poor selection of supplements. Once in a while, I forget how bad the service is and go in. I went in today and two young guys were working and offered no greeting when I walked in and offered no service. Typically, GNC has decent service. Never this one. read more

Came in during my daily bike ride to pick up a supplement to boost my metabolism and was greeted with a smile by one of the workers upon walking through doors. I told him that I just finished a bottle of Raspberry Ketones and would either like to replace it or kick it up a notch. He was very nice and informative and gave me examples of his own personal experience taking one of the other products he was showing. Definitely friendly and helpful customer service. This store is a disaster. They did not accept any return , and let you call the customer support to process it, which will cause you additional amount of time. Don't buy any thing here! And the review from another customer is true, the cashier is always "temporarily leaving" the store and leave a note on the door says "out for lunch" or " system reboot " Wish they would go bankruptcy soon. read more

Terrible customer service. I've been to this location twice. Should've known better after the first visit. Both clerks (different guys) were not attentive, did not ask if I needed any help until I stopped roaming around for 10 minutes looking for what I needed. During my second visit (and will be my last visit), the guy was on the phone for almost 10 minutes, watching me aimlessly look for a new product without even letting me know that he'll be right with me. No head nod, no mouthing of "I'll be with you in a sec." Nothing. When he finally got off the phone, I had to ask if he could help me look for a product.
