When I arrived (around 2:45) I noticed the clerk was locking the door and walked to the Subway next door for lunch (everyone deserves a break/meal, no problem). I waited--he walked out of Subway and I gave him another 25 minutes or so and went to the store door STILL LOCKED. It is now 3:40 pm I've called the store--no answer; I've called corporate--they were unable to reach anyone at the store but corporate ended the call with"Live Well". This place SUCKS! I walk in and was greeted by a fairly thick male who seems like he doesn't workout at all but that doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't know anything about supplements. He asks what brings me in and I tell him that I'm looking for some protein because I'm running low on my supply. He asks what I'm currently taking and I tell him the I'm taking pro7ien. He right away has no clue what I'm talking about and assumes he can offer one that is better. He takes me to the GNC brand protein and asks if my goal is to bulk up. I then tell him that I'm actually trying to cut and he tells me that this protein is "perfect" for me because it's leaner than the one I'm currently taking. - keep in mind he has no clue what protein I'm taking. I look at the nutrition label on the back and it has a lot more carbs than the pro7ien. Right away I know this guy has no clue what he's talking about. He obviously is just trying to promote this product so he can get commission on his sale - no interest in helping me reach my goal. Another thing I found irritating was that he didn't believe me when I said Costco sells cellucor C4, 2 for $35. GNC sells one for 37.99. Not only does their customer service suck their prices are way too high. Point being, DONT GO HERE! This is the usual GNC I come to. Being a "gold card member" ... whatever that means, it entitles you to nice discounts you would otherwise not get. It is rare, but SOME things are actually comparably priced here. So if you didn't want to wait for shipping and was ok with paying tax, it's alright to get it here. When you're in a bind, this is a place to get almost anything ... amino energy, protein, whey, supplements. Yes its more expensive but hey ... you can't go to Amazon on a Sunday and get it in 20 minutes. As for staff, I never really had any problems, they tend to leave me alone. read more

Since we needed six bottles of every kind, I pretty much wiped out majority of their floored stock. It only took 10 mins to walk out with $600 of vitamins. If you know what you're looking for, the visit will be a breeze. I had everything saved on my phone so it was rather quick. But if you're not sure, the knowledgeable staff will assist with any questions or suggestions. Place is clean, well organized, and abundantly stocked. Nothing special just another over GNC.. I rate it 1 star because on (3)separate occasions I came within 15 minutes of closing and they were already closed.. Typical when you got a bunch of youngsters working here trying to get out early.. SMH Note to manager when closing says 8PM that means 8PM not 7:59 or 8:01.. Drove over 20 minutes to this GNC just for them to be closed over an hour and a half before they were supposed to be. I should have listened to the other reviews which state that this location can never be relied upon to actually be open during their posted business hours. I've been to this GNC on 4 different occasions with 4 different employees helping me each time. Each staff member was knowledgeable and super willing to help me find the right product!! I didn't even have to ask for help. The time I did make a return it was hassle free and I didn't even need my receipt because i'm a gold card member. I've been to this GNC on 2 separate occasions. Neither were bad experiences, but based on other reviews as you tell, your experience can vary depending on who is working. 1st trip - Mid August I went to GNC to pick some supplements and help kick start my workout routine again. i went in with my boyfriend and picked out a protein powder that he liked (AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - Vanilla). I was looking at the daily supplements and couldn't tell the difference between the many options. So I asked the person working for their opinion. He seemed knowledgeable, but like he was well versed on the packaging description. Well it worked, we each bought a box of supplements (men & women) and went to check out. The guy suggested the GNC Membership and with that days purchase the membership already paid for itself. He was polite and the transaction we completed with minimal problems. Nice guy but could be a more happy about working there. 2nd trip - 10/5/13 I was getting ready for my Rock n Roll San Jose half marathon when I realized I didn't have any GU gels and didn't purchase any at the expo. With 15 minutes before the store was going to closed booked it over to the store front. The guy (different than last time) that was working was really friendly, noticed my knees where taped and asked if we were running the half on Sunday. We had some small talk and purchased some GU gels. I got a discount on my purchase using the GNC membership and was happily on my way home. Another painless transaction. Why 3/5 stars and not 4/5 stars? But it was just "A-OK." Not super or great. I got what i needed and left with little to no problems. Some of the products there can be found out Target or Walmart. This review is for Yahya (hope I spelled that right..). I just recently joined a fitness program and my coach advised me to buy some supplements. I've always been pretty iffy about supplements because I've always preferred doing things naturally. My new coach gave me a list of them and I had no idea what I was looking for. I walked in and was greeted by Yahya and some of the staff. Right away, Yahya asked if I needed any help finding anything. I showed him the list my coach gave me and he helped me find them. He learned that I wasn't too excited about taking so many pills in a day so he actually helped me find supplements that worked the same but wouldn't require me to take so much in a day. Yeah, I wasn't about to buy more than 5 bottles and take like 2 caplets from each bottle each day...Hellllls nooo.... also..that would be way too expensive.. Huge thanks, because I already spent hundreds hiring a trainer and buying new groceries for meal plans.. I really appreciated the fact that he wasn't pushing me to buy more. Not too many people "help," they just try to sell as much as they can. I actually felt like I was being helped by Yahya. He and the staff on duty at the time were patient with me even though I had so many questions and came off unsure. If I asked something and Yahya wasn't too sure, he would tell me and would try to ask his co worker just to make sure. I had a terrible experience here TODAY (8/26/2013). I came to the store at around 7:50pm. I know it was like 10 minutes before closing, but I knew what I wanted to get, and it was going to be a quick in and out trip... so I had hoped at least. I was greeted by the pair that was working, and proceeded to grab the usual protein supplement that I buy. The male salesman, asks me about it, and tells me about a better product that he swears by. He breaks down everything, and is real knowledgeable about the products.... This is where the experience goes south.... I thank him for the suggestion and tell him, I'll stick with what I've been used to. He brushes me off in this "Fine then, DON'T listen to me!" kind of way, and just walks away without saying another word. I grab the product I was originally going to buy, and went to the checkout counter where the female employee rings me up. During the process, the computer freezes. The male employee says, "That computer is going to take 10 minutes to restart, and we close in like a minute." I take that as him trying to get me out the store, like, "Your purchase isn't going to happen." I ask, "So can I come back in a couple minutes...?" Before I can explain that I wanted to quickly get something from jamba juice next door, I was quickly cutoff by the male employee with, "No, we'll be closed by then." There was not even an offer for me to wait there in the store while the system rebooted. I was pretty upset with the male salesman's lack of customer service skills, so I turned around and walked out the door. I sat in the car for a minute, and thought about what to do next. I walked back up to the front door, and knocked on it, since the male employee and asked to see his name tag or get his name. He was very reluctant to do so, and I told him that it's to have a reference for when I talk to the store manager [about the poor service]. His response was, "I can tell him myself...about the computer freezing." It wasn't until then when he offered, "You can come in and wait for the system to reboot." It was too late for me at that point; I was already too upset to deal with it further. I left....still without the male employee giving me his name. Safe to say it would take alot for me to want to come back, especially since there are other stores not too far away. I suggest you consider the same. *Edit - 8/27/2013* I find it pretty suspect that within a day of me posting my review, a 5-star review appears all of a sudden. The reviewer, "Stephanie F." created their profile in August 2013 (I'm guessing within the past few hours), and it's their only review. come to think of it... I looked at the other 5-star reviewer, "Ronnie R." and noticed a similar pattern. His review was posted within a couple weeks of the bad review, and the profile was created THAT month.... it's all kind of suspect. I'm guessing it's probably the owner/manager trying to be clever. I wouldn't give business to a place that puts more energy to doing that kind of stuff, rather than putting that energy to making their customers happy. read more

Horrible service. Just left GNC now, can't believe the people they hire. I walk in on the phone speaking to my wife in regulated to some multivitamins. The worker asks if I need help which I then respond "no thanks". He then continues to ask question while I'm on the phone. I started to ignore him hoping he would get the picture and I'm trying to hear what my wife is describing it is that she wants me to buy. I may have been rude but it's common sense to put the sales pitch aside until I can give my full attention the part that's is aggravating is listing to this young gentlemen taking s*** to his co-worker and then start giggling thinking that I can't hear what they are saying about customers in the store. I literally had to run around look over and point to my phone before he stopped talking about me behind my back. Once I was off the phone I asked him questions. Right away I could see he did not like me responding with "we don't carry that stuff here, fo to target. While walking out I could hear is gossip once more. Put your emotions and pride aside and wait to talk about your customers once they leave the store you may then close more business. read more
