Everytime I move to a new place, one of the most terrifying prospects is trying to find a new hair person. I was a blonde swimmer growing up, and since I graduated college my hair has decided it needs some encouragement (in the form of bleach, baby) to stay bright. Finding someone to do blonde highlights that are subtle, natural looking, and able to tune the colors just right for the season (a little darker with lowlights for winter, brighter/whiter ash blonde for summer) is always a challenge. I can honestly say Erica at gloss salon has taken exquisite care of my hair, from bright blonde highlights to adding some lowlights/dark blending for the winter. I've been several times, and she always executed exactly what I ask for. I also work a crazy schedule, and with prior communication she's always flexible and accommodating so I never have to stress about getting to see her. Additionally, the salon is bright, adorable, and with lots of personal touches that make it feel inviting. There's no pretentiousness here, and there'a always coffee (and usually some chocolate pieces) around for a quick pick me up. Can't say enough good! I doubt I'm the only person in Tucson who's been frustrated by the quest to get a high-quality hair treatment for a fair price. Having tried roughly a half-dozen places around town and found them to be overpriced, loud and impersonal, and unreliable, I feel I've finally found a true "hair home" at Gloss Salon. I met Erica Robinson by walking in just to check the place out and she immediately impressed me as a good listener and a conscientious person. I took her number and later called to schedule an appointment - the phone call (a small point, but hey!) was organized and friendly. Eventually the day arrived and I went in for the color and cut. I was early - and she was ready! It was clear from her questions and comments that she remembered me and the things I'd stressed earlier as being important to me. Did she keep notes? I hope so - in any case, that attention to detail put me at ease and contributed to a successful, relaxing visit. She's quite talented and I have no complaints about her work - and, best of all, the final cost, including tip, was super reasonable. The salon was clean, did not exude any headache-inducing perfume-y smells, and had pleasant decor with glamorous details that added to the special feeling. In a perfect world, we'd all have pockets overflowing with lottery winnings we could lavish on everyone we meet, but that's not reality and I'm really grateful for Gloss, for Erica, and for my new "hair home"! read more

We recently had a much needed mother daughter day that started with a trip to the salon. We both had a wonderful experience working with Erica. The salon took steps to protect each stylists and client with a temperature check, masks and sanitizer. Surfaces, door knobs, chairs etc..were also regularly sprayed down. It had been a few years since I last had a cut and as a busy mom I didn't have the time to work with my long hair anymore. My new shorter cut, color and partial highlights really got me out of a rut.
