The salon is located in and near the Menlo and Mercado Districts. It's bungalow style and chill vibe is so welcoming. Pricing is nothing outrageous but what you'd expect to pay for a top salon. I did an intensive research on Yelp looking for a reliable hair salon for my son who will be living in Tucson for the next few years. Appointments should be made weeks in advance (via phone or online) as they are very busy and all the hairstylists seem to be in high demand. Prices are on the pricier side but I am okay with that because they always do a stellar job giving my son the cut he wants. He has visited Mabel Salon on numerous occasions since 2024. I haven't been in Tucson long and ALWAYS got my hair done by my friend up in northern Nevada.. But from many suggestions at work, i tried Mabel! I did a random stylist and got Zoe, and she is amazing. I haven't gotten my hair done in 2 years, and naturally i'm a dirty blonde/blonde/brunette, so it was a mess. I came in, we talked about what I wanted and she was able to do a copper/strawberry blonde for me and it was amazing! They offered me water, the music wasn't too loud, it was a beautiful environment that I enjoyed. As a visitor in town, I went cold turkey into Mabel Salon for a hair cut with Sarah. From the minute I walked in the door I felt like I'd chosen wisely. Sarah took the time to look at some photos of my hair both naturally curly and blown out straight. I wanted a "refresh" with some layers cut in to give my hair some needed texture and bounce. I swear, she transformed my hair from wild greying cavewoman to sleek, styled, perfectly layered hair. Audrey cut it wet, very masterfully, then gave it a blow-dry, and checked it again, masterfully cutting any stray strand that didn't suit, and giving me even more when she knew I needed a bit more shaping around the face, and, in consultation with me, performed that beautifully. At other places my last couple haircuts haven't been what I hoped and I'd been getting bummed out. I booked here b/c of the outstanding 5 star reviews and found one of their stylist's work that I liked. Unfortunately, the stylist no longer worked there by time my appointment day came, but they were able to get me booked with the co-owner, Kaela. Kaela was nice enough to send me pictures of her work and details of her experience before my appointment so I felt comfortable seeing her. This salon is beautiful. It's set up in an old historic home that's been beautifully remodeled and it's modern design set up is so nice. I was greeted right away and offered water, tea and coffee. Kaela had another stylist look over my hair as well which was nice to have 2 experts look it over before beginning. The shampoo and gloss experience Kaela gave me was amazing and so relaxing. I would go back for a shampoo alone, that's how great it felt. I was treated very nicely by everyone and had a great experience. I didn't want anything drastic, just a cut and a gloss to refresh my hair and I was very happy with the results. Kaela listened to what I wanted and didn't want and I was very happy with my results.
