The place wasn't hopping when I went in - not surprising in the mid-day on a weekday - and it didn't convey a sense of welcome that they had a client in. I'll consider it for my next hair service, but as a second choice to another selection with a reputation for customer relationships.

She listened to my ideas of what I wanted and throughout the experience, she constantly checked in on me. It's not a huge salon, music playing in the background. Really feels welcoming. I went back a few months later and had Margo continue as my stylist. Glad to have found somewhere that I can trust with my hair.

Most of the product ended up on the paper towel and not on my nails; in addition to that, the acrylic started to break off and under a week one nail had come off completely. I cancelled further appointments with Nails Go Round and took off the set that had been on my nails for over a year. So I tried a relatively new salon where the old Hancock Fabric used to be: Orchid Nails. My tech was fast and spoke little English. I can deal with that, sort of; I take my e-reader with me for those reasons. What I can't deal with is regular nail polish instead of the gel polish I picked out. What I further can't deal with is the manager calling me a liar and asking if I was sure I had been at Orchid Nails. Well, my bank statement says Orchid Nails. You know what they say: if quacks like a duck and acts like a duck, the chances are good that it's a duck. I never went back to Orchid Nails. I tried Nails by Yen. Loved it, aside from a few minor details. But mainly, it's too far relatively speaking; I wanted something closer to home. I tried US Nails. There are times I wish I was allowed to carry duct tape for the obnoxious clients that seem oblivious to how uncomfortable they make others feel; ah well, that's protected under the first amendment mind you. Still, in terms of fantasy... Anyways, aside from rude and obnoxious clientele, I couldn't communicate with the nail tech very much. That disappointed me. And I still wanted something close to home. Well, that's why Yelp exists in part. I searched again. J Braun Salon doesn't do acrylics at all. Scratch that. The next on the list with an impressive amount of stars was Feisty Studios Salon and Spa with a nail technician named Annie Thai. Why didn't I find Annie after Tara quit? I could have saved myself this lengthy and frankly stupid review of past mistakes had I found Annie after Emily. I tend to forget that the area I live in is technically unincorporated Marana aside from the pesky detail of the post office being in Tucson. At least the one that serves my area. But I did locate Annie and she is awesome. Totally sweet and accommodating and very accomplished in her career. I left with gorgeous nails and a second appointment. Best of all for me is that I can communicate with her and we were able to swap stories and chat. I highly, highly recommend Annie Thai. You won't be disappointed!

She doesn't drive anymore so me taking her was part of my visit. This time the same male stylist made the same wrongful claim. My mom by the way looked so sad. I let them know oh no don't worry it's dandruff buildup. Because she fell and broke her arm last week (she was still in her cast) so we are here so you can get a cut and a good wash. He said to go get a doctors note otherwise he would not service her. And no matter how much I explained the situation, he refused. Same male stylist both times. Either he doesn't know the difference between lice and dandruff, which he should then probably not be working at a hair salon. Or he's being discriminatory because he thinks my mother isn't as rich as the rest of their customers. Or he doesn't want to work on an older woman's hair. Either way I'd never go to this salon again, my mother will not be going, and I am telling everyone I know in Tucson if you're not rich and didn't just wash your hair that day avoid this place. Go some place with kind empathetic stylists who wouldn't treat an elderly woman like so awfully. Update: we had an another salon fit my mom in last moment the next day. That stylist said there's no way anyone could think she has lice. She has some very minor dandruff but that's it! They were so kind and welcoming. The exact opposite of the vibe at Salon Salon.

During my hair trial, I appreciated the time Danielle took to show me different options and variations of the look I was wanting. Her skill-set is quite impressive. She added extensions for my mom and colored them to blend with her hair so that she could have her naturally short hair in an up-do for my wedding. On my wedding day, Danielle arrived early on-location and completely prepared. None of my bridesmaids had done trials, but I had shown Danielle photographs of what each girl wanted ahead of time. My bridesmaids all have very different types of hair and each had a different up-do. Danielle was able to make each girl look exactly like their example with such ease and calmness. She even followed me to my wedding venue to put my veil on herself! Danielle is truly talented, but she also cares deeply for her clients and their special day. It's her passion, drive and kindheartedness that set her apart from the rest. She went above and beyond for me and I am so grateful! I highly recommend Danielle and Gaetana's Hair Salon. My daughter received a drop dead gorgeous haircut from Blue. I had confessed how I hacked off my daughters bangs and Blue was able to fix them 100%. My daughter and I were also talked out of the particular haircut at other salons in the past. So I was impressed to see Blue take on the cut with out question. Simply nailed it. She's definitely a hair artist. I did watch a few people get their hair done while I was waiting and from what I observed all the hair dressers that day seemed to do really nice work.
