The cleanings are thorough, and her dental assistants have all been very pleasant to work with. Although this dentist is extremely nice her care was extremely disheartening. I went in for a routine cleaning . Gloria ended up knocking my filling out of an upper left molar leaving a hole. This led to her scheduling a follow up for a filling . It turns out by the time of my filling appt she no longer accepted my insurance. Due to this I could not be seen before I knew it I had an infection in the hole and had to go to a clinic that accepted my insurance. After antibiotics I went back and they told me the hole had gotten so large that I needed to have it pulled. So I guess do not go here if she does not accept your insurance or won't in the future because she will stop care with you and won't care what happens to your teeth read more

Dr Gloria definitely doesn't take feedback well. They requested a private feedback from me about my recent visit and well it probably wasn't what they wanted to hear. They replied to me with this email (Photo attached) to inform me that I have been dismissed from their service. The feedback I had was for her associate Dr Nirmal who performed a regular cleaning session after a previous deep cleaning session that Dr Gloria had conducted. Dr Nirmal wasn't able to give me very sound reasoning to why wanted me to get filling for a cavity I was (supposedly) developing which Dr Gloria had previously advised against a filling. When I expressed hesitation to decide on if I needed a filling or not, she tried scaring me into it by telling me how some of their old patients had to go through bigger dental works because they didn't listen to their advice. They also kept trying to sell me their in house battery operated toothbrushes. In my honest opinion, It felt like Dr Gloria and her associates do not mind carrying unnecessary procedures on unsuspecting patients in order to ensure they keep coming back. It is sad to see doctors not holding up their medical ethics by treating medicine as a business instead of a noble profession. Their choice of dismissing a concerned patient instead of working with the patient to understand the gap has confirmed my suspicion of their dominating business interests. The only good person at their office is probably their receptionist who has been kind enough to email me my dental X-Rays whenever I requested. read more

Initially, my experience with Dr Tucker was pleasant. She cleaned my teeth thoroughly and seemed friendly enough. Unfortunately, due to the events that unfolded following my initial appointment with her, I do NOT believe she is an ethical dentist. I believe that Dr Tucker views profiting off her patients to be more important than providing high quality care. Her office threatened to send my bill to collections even though it was still being processed by my insurance. She also emailed me stating I would no longer be a patient without any explanation in the middle of providing care to me (including an upcoming appointment to fix a gum issue that was caused by a procedure she performed). I believe she cancelled me as a patient so she would not have to be financially responsible for follow up teeth treatment required due to her improper care. Once I told Dr Tucker that I would not pay the bill until it was determined by insurance to be my responsibility, she wrote a letter lying to my insurance stating that the procedure done was strictly cosmetic (even though it was never discussed with me as strictly cosmetic) when she realized they were missing proper charting documentation from her office. I am now in the process of appealing the denied claim as I do not believe I should owe for a procedure that I was told could be covered by insurance and was denied due to lack of documentation which was the dentists error. Based on my personal experiences with Dr Tucker (and her office manager Christine), I would NOT recommend her as a dentist. read more

Stay away! Beware! I am reaching out to others to warn against Dr. Tucker's dental clinic. After my experience, I don't believe she is ethical. It seems to me that she recommends costly treatments that benefit her, but not your dental health. Immediately after the work she did, I began having constant pain in the tooth. I called the next day about it. She acted like I was crazy, and that it wasn't possible I was having pain. Gaslighting me. However, as soon as I told the office manager I was reaching out to a new dentist to evaluate my situation (as I no longer trusted her), her dental office barraged me with 20 phone calls in a single day. They demanded in many voicemails that I call them back immediately. Seems like CYA behavior to me. Wish she seemed to care when I initially brought up the pain I was having. What is sad is that I never had any pain or problems with that tooth until she worked on it. Never an issue. It is now my new dental team's recommendation that her work on my tooth is causing my constant pain. Even worse, they say the tooth needs to be extracted because of her work -- and get this, I will need a dental implant. Can you believe this? The clinic seems nice at first, almost too nice to believe. However, she is not a good dentist - and not ethical. I think she is not good at dental work, or that she is greedy, or perhaps both. And when you let the office know you are getting a second opinion on her failed treatment, the fangs come out. Even worse is that I will lose this tooth. What a horrible experience I have had. Dr. Tucker and her assistant, Sophie, have been more than perfect during my recent visit with them as a new patient. I just needed a general checkup and cleaning and fortunately,​ I was more than happy to pay what was at due in the end. Even though I paid out of pocket, Christine seemed like she would make sure her patients would get the most out of their dental insurance by clarifying her needs to verify the coverage before booking an​ appointment. Love the vibe of the clinic. Everyone will know it just by hearing the laughs and giggles of Dr. Tucker and her employees'. Dr. Tucker comes off very nice and friendly, which is why I was disappointed to discover that isn't actually the case. I had the same dentist for 16 years, and recently had to change due to location inconvenience, so naturally I was a bit nervous to be getting work done by someone I didn't know very well. I had to get a root canal done and had a temporary crown in until the real one was made and available. It took me a little while to go back in to get my real crown because I had been in a lot of pain after the root canal that I just wanted a dental break. When I went back in to get my crown on, I was asked if I was nervous at all and I replied truthfully that yes, I was a little nervous. They then proceeded to ask me if I wanted to take anything for the nerves and I politely declined. Dr. Tucker comes in and tells me that I need to change dentists after she puts my crown on because she can't work on someone who is nervous and it would be better for the both of us if I found a dentist that could give me medication for when I come in to get work done. Seriously? How can you be a dentist and tell people that if they are nervous, they need to go elsewhere? I am sure they are out there, but I have yet to meet a person who is excited and relaxed when they have a dental appointment coming up. I will not be returning, and I will be making sure to turn people away if they are thinking of going Gloria Tucker for their dental needs. read more

Ugh, What a disappointment. Let me start by saying I have visited this practice for the better part of a decade. Largely I have been pleased with their work. The problem really revolves around how things are handled when expectations aren't met and it wasn't always the way it is now. By that I mean if I am disappointed with the way something is handled and attempt to address it with the front office I am met with a very defensive posture and a message that focuses on how I should have handled things differently so have arrived a different outcome. There is really no ownership on their part for much of anything other than GETTING PAID. Recently I had a cleaning scheduled but did not realize it. At some point, I'm not sure when their office stopped sending reminders in the mail and calling by phone. Now they solely rely on email notifications which is fine with me under most circumstances. I'm a techie by trade so I welcome the smart use of technology and watch my email closely. I can tell you with all certainty I never got my reminder and I missed my appointment. I didn't know this until I received a bill for $100. When I called to see what the charge was for I received the message loud and clear - yet again, how it's my fault. I have a $100 fee previously for one I missed due to work (my fault I couldn't get away) so I'm not above being wrong. However, I do find it incumbent upon those who are going to charge $100 for a missed appointment that they keep my contact information current. When calling to find out why I was being billed $100 I was told it was because I missed my appointment. I had asked why I didn't receive a reminder and we got to the bottom of them having an old email address on file. The front office chided me for not keeping my information current and lectured me to be more responsible. Ultimately they have no responsibility whatsoever - which is what I was told. Bear in mind that my insurance information had changed and they saw their way towards updating that bit of info long ago but my contact details not so much. The front office was very much about telling me how I need to own updating my information and NONE of this was their fault. It was entirely my responsibility. I'm just not ok with that. Here's the kicker - after reviewing my email I was reminded that we had exchanged emails over the course of the past year using my main current and functional email address. I had even told the front office that I didn't get an email from them and sent them an email from my current address to which they responded but never changed in their database. They never updated my contact info, but they had updated my billing info? YOU BETCHA! I'm tired of the huge attitude and the laziness. Good luck Dr, I'm going somewhere else. read more

Dr. Tucker is always happy and friendly and so is her staff. She always has great stories to tell and is a lot of fun. Very knowledgeable and concerned about your teeth. She will try to preserve the tooth as much as possible. She's located downtown so its easy for me to pop over while at work to see her. The office is open weird hours and I guess by weird I mean not the normal M-F and cancellation is needed within 48 hours which I find can be difficult. I highly recommend her. read more

There is a personal feel to the care that you don't get at larger medical clinics. She takes the time to answer all of my questions and make sure I feel comfortable. Dr Gloria Tucker's office billed me for fixing a filling that came out a few days after Dr Tucker had put it in. When I told them I didn't think I should have to pay for work that I already paid for, they said I should no longer be a patient of theirs. Apparently Dr Tucker doesn't guarantee her work. Ironically, the filling that she re-filled, just fell out again, a few months later. I normally try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt, but this case was a little too much. Been a patient of Dr. Tucker for the last six years - ever since I arrived in Seattle. Couldn't be happier. Gloria's done two crowns for me and a root canal, numerous x-rays and cleanings. All, I'm pleased to say, pain free. I never feel hurried when visiting Gloria and I always get a play-by-play from her and her staff as to what they are doing and what is still to be done. I was looking for a new dentist, came across her and thought I'd give her a try because of her free whitening for life program for new clients, and she was a Husky (go Dawgs!). Close to work, got an appt same day! Great cleaning, met the Dr, found a bunch of cavities. I told her I was on a budget, no problem, she understood, and that her receptionist Kristine would quote me on that. She did, and we set it up. Next week, she did procedure, I have to go in 3 more times, and next time I am needing more pain medication I was hurting for a long while. I went to pay, and turns out the dr did way more than planned! Kristine was great, set up a payment plan right there and it all was no big deal! I do wish they were open either earlier or later since they are only open tues, weds, thurs. 9-5. Other than that very friendly and easy to work with. I would recommend her for sure! read more

I'm responding to Dr. Tucker's response below to one of her patients. She Implies that the only reason the patient was charged for a missed appt is that he missed several. That doesn't ring true. I was a patient of dr. Tucker. I came an hour late to an appt and was charged for a missed appointment. I complained and was told by the woman at the front desk that they make "no exceptions." I understand why they charge the fee but am troubled by the dentist response here on yelp because it is short on honesty. read more

If a dentist takes her family member to another dentist that means a lot! I took my mother to Gloria because I didn't have the heart to give injection to my mom let alone pulling her tooth out. Gloria's demeanor is so relaxing and at ease that it put my mom in an immediate comfort. She is fast, skillful,knowledgeable and above all HONEST. These days I keep hearing from others that they don't know if they should trust dentists on their recommended treatment or not. Gloria prefers to have a balanced life than expanding her office, she has decided to keep her practice small and quaint. Dr. Tucker is the best dentist I've ever had. She and her staff are polite and professional -- They make you feel welcome, and they put you at ease. Dr. Tucker uses state-of-the-art techniques, and she is very good at communicating details regarding procedures. I especially appreciate how hands-on she is with her care -- She has excellent dental hygenists on her team, but she also personally spends a lot of one-on-one time with patients. I agree with the reviewer who noted the defensive posture of the office. I was a patient of Dr. Tucker's for a year or so and then moved and found a new dentist closer to my new home. Dr. Tucker did a crown for me that failed in less than five years. My new dentist suggested that I go back to Dr. Tucker, stating that she and most other reputable dentists guarantee their crowns for at least 5 years. When I called Dr. Tucker's office, I explained the situation and told the front office that I understood that it was common practice for dentists to guarantee their crowns for at least 5 years. They got me right in to see Dr. Tucker. She was immediately defensive and implied that the crown's failure was my fault. She refused to acknowledged what two other dentists confirmed--that the crown had either slipped or was a poor fit. When I asked about having it fixed, she laughed and told me that there was no way that she would fix it without charge. I left feeling disappointed but not expecting to be billed for the visit. A few days later, I received a bill in the mail for $120+ for my "consultation" with her. I would not recommend Dr. Tucker. Even before this happened, I found her manner to be arrogant and had heard complaints from at least one other patient that she always seemed to find work that "needed" to be done. read more
