HVAC & Appliance Repair Guys - Vitaly doing maintenance

HVAC & Appliance Repair Guys

We have a set of Samsung washer/dryers and the dryer has been deciding to break, one part a time…read more In 2023 these guys came out next day to diagnose our broken dryer. The motor fully went out and they were able to order the part quickly and install it quickly. Fast forward to now, the dryer stopped blowing hot air. It took about 3 business days to air dry a load of clothes. HVAC & Appliance Repair Guys were able to offer same day service, we ended up choosing two days later just bc of our own chaotic schedule. However we appreciate their ability to come out same day. After an embarrassing moment of cleaning our dusty laundry room which has become our *what the heck* room of things that don't belong in other rooms. Max diagnosed the issue quickly and replaced the part. Our heating element spring called it quits on us. He was in and out within 30-40 minutes. It's refreshing to have such quick service. Also, while communicating right here on Yelp messages, their replies were prompt. Always within an hour at the longest. Strongly recommend. It's always great to know we have a reliable appliance repair team to call, tho to no fault of their own, I hope we don't need to call them any time soon haha.

A new technician, Ivan, was sent out to fix our dryer. He was very nice, personable, and efficient. Our dryer is working better than ever before. I greatly appreciate Dan, Ivan, and their communication. Thank you!

He did a…read moregood job with their estimate , but while taking measurements he noticed that my hot water heater was venting into my garage and told me I should fix it. I don't know how long it was like that, but I can't tell you how happy I am that he noticed my problem. He helped insure that my family was safe and I really appreciate that.

I was looking to get a quote for an HRV installed so I called and asked about that. I was asked when the last time our HVAC was serviced and since it had been a couple years was told we should just schedule a service before going ahead with a quote. So I scheduled - great! Guy came out and performed the service, but during the service the float switch we had on the system (so the condensate from the AC wouldn't overflow into our crawlspace if the drain got a clog) shorted the system when he plugged it back in. He said these things are unusual and not needed, since if it overflows it'll just have water in the crawlspace, no big deal (!?!), not like if the HVAC was in the attic. And the system wouldn't turn on unless he unplugged it, was that ok? Since I wanted the HVAC and AC to work I said ok. I asked the technician about getting a quote for an HRV and how that would work, etc, and he said he didn't know much about those and that he didn't see why they were necessary. While agree they're not necessary, we want one to improve our indoor air quality - thus the original call! He said he would note it down and the office would get back to me. Left with a $300 service bill, and an HVAC system in worse-off shape than before (no working float switch), I called back the next business day to see what could be done. The owner was really helpful and said he'd look into it, called back the next day and had the part ordered and would fix the float switch for free. I asked about getting a quote for an HRV and he said they don't really do them, so couldn't help out here. Ugh! That's why I called originally and wouldn't have had someone out here and paid $300 for service I didn't really want. All I really wanted was a quote! Lesson learned on my part, but overall won't be working with them again as they didn't help be address what I wanted to with my system (and I'm out $300 which seems pricey for what was ~1 hour maintenance service)

Many have retired, or are ready to retire. It's not unusual to receive a visit from a technician who is not familiar with oil furnaces who causes damage to the furnace during the service. In many cases, if one small component fails on an old oil furnace, the service company will recommend a complete furnace replacement, usually at highly inflated prices. After an extensive Yelp search, we decided to call Deluxe Heating and Cooling to perform a preventative maintenance service on our oil furnace. We found the technician, Ayden, to be very knowledgeable. He cleaned the system, performed an assessment of the condition of unit and advised how to best approach maintenance in the future. We learned that it would not be necessary to completely replace the system if it failed in the future. He shared some strategies on subsystem replacement. Our goal is to perform regular preventative maintenance to prolong the service life of the system. But next time we encounter a component failure, we plan to call Deluxe Heating and Cooling for repair rather than changing out the whole system to a gas or electric furnace.
