My partner collected a small fish supper and a chicken nugget meal as the chicken nuggets are usually proper chicken with a lovely flavour. However we got home and noticed immediately that the chicken nuggets were different. I opened one of them to find that it was minced chicken something that turns my stomach and I simply cannot eat. I did however take a bite and it was tasteless and clearly a cheaper alternative to their usual chicken nuggets. Unknown to me my partner who was downstairs had also been disappointed with his fish supper as it was broken into tiny pieces and likewise the chips were not fresh and he put his in the bin. I phoned the fish and chip shop and the young girl who answered immediately told me that they had new chicken nuggets when I told her I was not satisfied she put me on to her manager. As soon as he took the phone his attitude was arrogant and condescending he asked me what my problem was as they were still chicken nuggets. I advised him that the reason we go there is because the usual ones that are served are proper chicken and not minced chicken and he advised that his supplier did not have any and he did not see the problem as they were still chicken nuggets. At no point did he apologise or offer a replacement or refund and he made it clear that he knew who my partner was as he was a regular customer. At this point I asked him why he did not advise him that there was a change in the supplier as my partner would have ordered something else yet again he repeated he didn't need to he was still serving chicken nuggets. I asked his name and he responded I'm "BIG CHIEF" I thought I was hearing things and asked him again and he replied "I AM BIG CHIEF" I asked his name and he replied Martin and that he was the owner, his attitude continued and it was evident that he was acting smart in front of younger staff members and his ego really needed to be addressed. I asked him if he had any intention to replace the order and he said next time you're in It will be replaced. I felt this was reluctant and he had absolutely no intention of refunding us. I fully intend to take guidance from consumer and trading standards Scotland and environmental health to find out the actual quality and quantity of chicken in these minced nuggets as it clearly was the cheapest option he could purchase. We will not be back he has lost regular customers but his egotistical behaviour would highlight this would not bother him in the slightest. I highly doubt we are the only people who have experienced the same treatment and with the attitude shown today it is clear that this man clearly needs to go on a course for customer service as his interpersonal skills are non-existent. I also believe that this fish and chip shop which is in a prime location of the town will fail miserably if this man is allowed to continue running the place with no regard to customers concerns complaints and quality of the food. I would be very much obliged if they can refund us for the order today they know our address as we order regularly for delivery but will never give them any future orders as that is twice now the food has been under par, however the main reason was the attitude displayed by this man. Simple apology would have rectified the situation but his egotistical demeanour escalated the situation. I hope other customers take this on board as a true and accurate account of our experience today.
