I've said it before, but by god I'll say it again. Weatherspoons pub food is good, what's more…read moreit's consistent across all their pubs which I think is very important. I know if I go to a spoons the food will be decent and considering the value for money you get it is a competitive place to go. We swung in here prior to hitting up the Odeon for a film, there were four of us and we ordered in couple but still got our food at the same time. I had a delicious gourmet chilidog which I took a photo of to upload but yelps mobile app on my backberry hates me so I cannot seem to do it, definitely the phone or apps fault not mine ;-* The chiiliedog was perfect, soft bun, well cooked hotdog and the chilli on top was fantastic, a little bit of spice but not so much that it hijacked everything else. I would definitely recommend it, but it was a big eat. The chips were also very nice, crisp on the outside fluffy on the inside and tasty throughout. Also as I always say in Wetherspoons reviews, get the onions rings they never let you down. In general the place was busy but not mobbed and we got pleasant efficient service which couldn't be faulted. Cheap drinks and cheap food which punches above its weight in terms of flavour. If you fancy something simlpe or something a wee bit cheaper that the other places within x-scape this is a great alternative to TGI etc.

Cool place to sit outside in the summer with wine. Beer or food…read more New tables and chairs too.

People have said that the Chicken and mushroom pie is superb…read more Fact is it's even better if you manage to get a seat in a booth by the window so you watch the world go by. Legend has it that the Pie is SO good, folk even get it to take away. There's a Sunday Pub Quiz, Saturday DJ, and sport on the big screens. So why folk want a takeaway is a mystery to me!

Whuppity Scourie formerly Jade's formerly Bridgewater Tavern has changed Management A LOT…read more However, the revamped Whuppity Scourie is a very welcome change. Recently refurbished, they have split the main bar away from the Bistro to allow children to enter and reduce the noise. Good plan! The menu has been overhauled and they don't have as many dishes on the menu as before which is a lot better for the kitchen ensuring quality over quantity. I ordered King Prawns with Calamari, my mom Haggis Fritters and my sister in law Black Pudding in Breadcrumbs with a Chilli Sauce. No complaints. They were tasty and well presented. We then ordered Balmoral Chicken, Fish & Chips and a Chicken Burger. Portions are extremely good for the price, food was cooked fresh to order and of a good quality. There was only 1 staff member within the bistro when I was in looking after 4 tables, which was okay but we did have to wait at times to be served; not her fault though. The dishes are a little expensive for a Bar Bistro in Erskine, but you'd expect to pay more if you dined in Glasgow for the quality and size of the portions. Our bill for 2 courses and numerous drinks for 3 people came to around £56. Not THAT bad when you think of it. All in all, the Whuppity Scourie is much better than it's predecessors and I hope it's hear to stay.
