We continually had to flag staff for ordering drinks as never offered and then chase so they'd arrive. We weren't the only table in the same position. Staff seemed to be enjoying themselves with animated conversations and laughs among themselves while we waited for bill 10 mins after asking. Ended up having to walk out to the front and make it clear we were leaving. Large service fee automatically added. Food was very average with many listed ingredients and flavours missing in the final dish. Consequently bland or unbalanced. Small portions and despite ordering more plates than they recommended we left hungry. Expensive for what it is. Very very disappointing. Trading on a good old name.

The menu changes regularly, but if you are interested in going any time soon (March 2022) I'd highly recommend the scallop ceviche (we ate it before I managed to take a picture) which was mind blowing and the wild mushroom and gnocchi dish. The prices are very reasonable and the staff were so nice. I'll definitely be back!!!!

My burger was brought and actually it was delightful, I'd added the cheese and bacon. The bacon was crisp as was the accompanying veg. So much so, I ordered a brownie and ice cream. Now it's not going to win a Michelin star, but it's certainly better than some of the other chain pub grills I've been in recently. So while my average for such places would be three stars, this one isn't bad and rockets to the heady heights of a four.

All good value. The food here is of a very high standard. Yes, it's a Beefeater so the menu is limited in the sense that there'll be a lot of red meat but there are still some fish, chicken, pasta and salad dishes too. The focus is on steak and burgers and so it should be as they do it very well. The restaurant is part of a hotel/pub/restaurant complex with a Premier Inn (in Newton Mearns?!?) so the clientele is varied between the traveler and the local and there appear to be a lot of regulars from the local area (always a good sign). Here are some points of interest: 1 - Hobgoblin on draught at the bar 2 - Bottomless fries 3 - This was the last Beefeater to be given an individual name.

Unfortunately, the eateries were horrendously busy except for Potters which was just quite busy so we ended up here. I was delighted to try somewhere new though, having tried most of the places in Xscape so far. It has a really nice warm interior and comfy seating and good service, with our waiter being polite, curteous and speedy, without being too in your face. The prices were on a par with Frankie and Bennie's, but with more of a British sort of feel to the menu. I opted for Gammon and eggs which was really really good and the missus went all out for a 10oz rib eye steak which was fairly spectacular and cooked to her liking. Good portions as well with enough on the menu to consider coming again. Not cheap, but nothing in Xscape is. A good option for a wee treat on the grills section of the menu in a nice comfy setting with good service. It got hefty busy by the time we left though, out the door just long enough to fix my jacket before they were prepping the table for new customers.

Sounded like a good deal and when we arrived our friends were having a drink downstairs as the room wasn't ready yet, so by the time we got in it was a good 20 minutes later than our booking. The staff were really helpful initially - getting us set up with booze and food, and I was well impressed by the amount and selection of dishes. They were really generous and we struggled to finish all the food. What I tried of the wine was really nice as well - taking the price into consideration. The downsides were that the karaoke options seemed outdated and a lot of them had really strange clips with them instead of the actual video clip. Now I've never done karaoke before so I'm definitely no expert but our friends commented that it wasn't up to the normal standard of really up to date tunes. The room was meltingly hot and we had to keep the door ajar, which meant we could hear the booth next door which had their door open as well. There were sound problems between the microphone volume and the music as well. Right on 9pm someone came to turf us out the room - which would have been ok apart from the fact we'd been let in 20 minutes late. The staff seemed really annoyed at this and didn't seem to be able to accept they owed us that extra time which left a really negative impression on me and knocked another star off the experience. It was a bit posh well it was a River City wrap party after all, well maybe not that posh. I've now been in a few times on various occasions and still think it's better than Saint Judes. To be honest I hate the music as it's mostly dance, so it just doesn't cut it for me at all, but the atmosphere's not too bad. I ended up here on one of our stops on my staff Christmas night out. We ended up in the main bar and managed to grab a bench table which had a wee fridge on it. It had been previously reserved for an 18th birthday party and the girl said the fridge was still available. It had a tag on it explaining you could book the table and the fridge would filled for you. Unfortunately there was nothing left in it. Boo!! Well 18 years olds, I'm not surprised. We didn't stay too long this time as the group wanted to move on. So unfortunately didn't get a fishbowl but alas I have had one before and as the mind can remember the Shark Bite was the cocktail of choice.
