The shop told her the entire muffler system had to be replaced and instructed her to pay cash, charging her $580. After the "repair," the car was worse than before. Strong exhaust fumes were entering the cabin, making her light-headed, and the check engine light came on, which had never happened prior to their work. When I returned with her to address the issue, the mechanic never used any diagnostic equipment but immediately blamed an O2 sensor. He also told my mother he did not charge sales tax, yet the paperwork clearly shows tax was included. This experience was deceptive, fraudulent, and like a complete rip-off, especially toward an elderly customer. Instead of fixing the problem, the shop charged a large amount of cash and left the vehicle in a dangerous condition which it did not arrive in.

Sandy hit on me immediately telling me I had to "give him a hug". So I ignored it, but then when I came to back pick up the car later he said it again!!! I said something really stupid because I was on the spot and just couldn't think fast enough and I regretted it as soon as I said it. I said, "I charge for hugs" so his response was to say well "then I'll get a massage too" EWWW!!!! and YUCK!!! On top of that he said I had an exhaust leak, which I knew I did, but it was a minor one and he charged me $190 to weld in a new pipe because he said it wouldn't pass inspection without it, which I guess is also reasonable, but I am pretty sure whatever he did is starting to go bad again already. I can hear it starting to go again... He also tried to tell me I needed struts and all kinds of other stuff that I am pretty sure I don't need and gave me exorbitant rates to fix them.
