So here we are, 4 years after the repairs. I had to do some front end suspension work and everything became clear. The length of time it took for the initial repairs were due to them waiting on another wrecked Santa Fe to come in with salvageable parts. All the "new" parts that were replaced on the front left corner were obviously far older and came off of a vehicle that endured much harsher conditions than mine. I'm talking corroded and separated drop links, tie rod ends that needed an acetylene torch to remove and completely rusted strut bodies. The 11 year old original parts on the right side were still in great shape. Bottom line, terrible work, worse parts.... My Car was a Brand New 2019 and they sold my parts and tucked up the outside including a deep scratch on the back and white paint stains (my car is silver). Half the parts on my car were missing when they gave it back to me I brought it back and the guy who I believe is the owner said we will go to the back and get the parts off of another car, I never even thought to ask where MY brand new parts were, I was so confused and I never went back. The only reason I went to this place is because this is apparently a shop recommended to Tow by the NYPD, DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE. My car was towed to Styland Collision Corp with a pick up truck to Styland Collision Corp 350 Front Street Staten Island ny10304 on 12/14 2021. After I researched this company with BBB and read the reviews and speaking with people who had problems with this company. I was advised to get my car out of that shop. The following morning 12/15/2021 I called to inform them I was on my way to pick up my car. When I got there they told me they didn't know anything about me picking up my car and made me wait over two hours for them to release my car to me overcharging me storage fees and clean up charges the total bill was $680.46 they demanded cash payment. I want to warn everyone about this car repair shop. It gets worse as the story goes on so beware. My car was involved an an accident on May 13, 2020. It was towed from the scene of the accident to a car repair shop. A day later, without my consent, it was towed to another repair shop by the name of Styland collision. I have never heard of this shop but it appears that they have a connection with the NYPD and every time a car is towed, the cars are rerouted to this place. Upon speaking with them on May 15, 2020, two days later, they advised me that it usually takes 2 weeks to repair the car but due to COVID-19 it will take 3 weeks. I informed them I was paying for the damages myself because I do not have full coverage insurance. They charged me $4,500( an excessive amount) and asked for a deposit. I gave them a deposit of $1000. On June 5, 2020, 3 weeks later, I contacted them to inquire when could I pick up the car. They advised me that it was not ready. They gave some bogus excuse that they were waiting on approval from an insurance claims adjuster when I specifically told them I'm paying them out of pocket because I do not have full coverage insurance and already gave them a deposit to start working on the car! Nonetheless, I explained that the car was in their possession for 3 weeks already and they had my deposit. They advised me that they did not start working on the car but they ordered ALL the parts. 5 minutes later, I get a call back saying they need to purchase an additional part and the cost is $500. Reluctantly, I said okay. I was given the run around every week for 4 additional weeks. Every week my car was going to be ready, "next week". We agreed that I should pick up the car on July 1,2020. On July 1, 2020, I showed up to pick up the car and they stated it wasn't ready. I showed up again on July 2, 2020 and received my car. This is now 7 going on 8 weeks post accident. I was informed that the flashing lights on the dashboard would disappear after I drove 50 miles. In addition, I was told that no matter what problems I had, I should bring the car back to them and they will fix it free of charge. The flashing lights aka the sensors are still on until today July 27, 2020. It gets worse. The next day July 3, 2020, I got in my car and it wouldn't start. The entire weekend I had to ask individuals to give my car a jump in order to use it. Sunday was the final straw. As I was driving, my car completely shut off on me in the middle of the street! Thank God I did not get into an accident. I pulled the car over to the side of the road and left it there for the night. I called Styland early in the morning and explained what happened. I explained that they gave me a non functional car. I went there for body damage and now my car isn't starting and when it does, it shuts off on me completely in the middle of the street. They immediately became defensive and said they are not responsible. They stated they only did body work to the left quarter panel. I said what about the mechanical work that you did and the extra $500 that you charged me for the extra mechanical part? They had no clue what I was talking about! They didn't even remember the lies they told me to swindle me out of an additional $500! They said If your car is shutting off that's an engine problem and has nothing to do with what we did. I said how could you know that without assessing the car? I've never had this issue so clearly something you did caused this issue. Maybe you misaligned something. They conceded that prior to giving me the car, the car did not start on its own and they had to give it a jump. They figured it was because the car was sitting for a long time. I did my own research and one of the possible reasons that my car was not starting was due to a fuel pump issue. Now, my gas tank is on the left side of the car (the side that was hit) and was directly damaged in the accident. When I spoke to them about the possibility that it could be a fuel pump issue they refused to address this issue. They told me they were not getting me a tow truck and I should try to get the car to them on my own at my expense. I was mortified. Not only did I not have a working car...but I was also $5000 in debt for their inferior work only a few days after getting my car back. Luckily, I found a mobile mechanic who was able to meet me. I did not have to pay for a tow. He diagnosed the problem as a fuel pump issue. I went and got the part and he was able to fix the fuel pump issue which conveniently is on the left quarter panel. I spoke with Styland the very next day and explained that the issue was the fuel pump. I advised them that I spent $340 to get it fixed. They said they would see what they could do about reimbursing me, even at least half, but as all stories end, never contacted me again. Moral of story is they WILL take advantage of you. BEWARE! Some of these shady people should be seeing stars, and or locked up for taking advantage of people. This is the most unorganized crime I have seen. Shame on the NYPD for having them as a tow company. 3 am on a Saturday morning my daughter hits a guard rail. NYPD shows up, writes a report and soon after the tow truck takes the car. We get a text in the morning with the cost for the tow, and the address. The Receipt reads Sudden Impact auto body and towing, Storer st. I try to contact them all day Saturday and after a few hours of research, and different #s ( already knowing somethings up) someone answers and tells me they open on Monday morning@ 9 am. I show up at Storer ave Monday and it's an empty lot. I call the # on the locked fence, and they tell me to come to 350 front st. I drive all the way across the island to front st. This lady was a dumb, the minute she opened her mouth, I knew it was a scam. Now I went there with two things in mind, I was going to fix the car and give it to my son, or If was too much , that's ok, how much will you give me for the car. Simple right? Well apparently the car was not at this location either. The dumb asks what I want to do? so I said well where's the car, and can it be repaired, or is it totaled. She tells me it's on Granite ave, and she thinks it's totaled, but she will have the girl send pictures and get me a price on repairs, I laughed and said your going to give me a price off of pictures? Oh yeah we do it all the time she says. I asked her if it is not repairable how much will they give me for the car. She says no one buys cars anymore, pay us for the tow, and we just junk it. Right away I left my wife to talk with her, and went outside to call a salvage yard. I told him the year make and model, and he makes me an offer. I said sounds good, let me get the address. When I asked her what is the address on Granite ave where the car is located, she kept saying who is on the phone, who is picking up the car, they can't go on the property, then gives me the wrong address. I finally get off the phone and said I am just going to pay for the tow, and take my vehicle. She then puts the bill together, tow charge, clean up charge, ( which they didn't even clean up the scene, because I went back and picked up the tire), admin fee, tow out of the yard fee, ( which the salvage company pulled right from where it was). Storage charge, ( which they were closed for the weekend) The total amounted to $550. From $125 tow fee. They email me the receipt, and it reads 79 towing inc!. It pisses me off when people get over! I know who you are, this is the second time your fuckin me. Ties to the NYPD. As well as other ties. I guess the house flipping, concrete business, and restaurant business didn't work out. Worse experience ever ! They found out o I made a police report due to my car being hit , showed up within minutes after my call to the police with a tow truck . Told me they would take care of my car and blah blah . Billed the insurance for towing but I drove my car to the shop . Caused more damage to the car I guess to get paid more thru the insurance , I only know this because geico sent me an email with the photos of the car and some of the damages shown in the pics didn't occur from my car being hit . Took over 3 weeks for my car to be fixed and returned . I've had my car damaged in the past , to similar areas and even worse cases and it's always has taken less then 8 days for it to be repaired . When I showed up to the shop after two weeks of my car being in the shop, the car was still in the same condition that I dropped it off in , they haven't even stared working on it and claimed they were waiting for parts . After maybe 24 days of my car in the shop, I picked up my car at night and it was dark out and my car was dirty so few days after I got a car wash only to find out they did a shitty paint job . Also when I picked up the car , my Tires needed air which they didn't even check . They billed the insurance for a lot of things that my car didn't even get , example : a new door , they used the same door just fixed it . They charged the insurance for 2 new tires , I still have the same tires . Also I had to pay out of pocket to enterprise because the insurance only paid for certain amount of days . Would give 0 stars but then I wouldn't be able to write something. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! The lies, the deceit on where my car was and when it would be repaired and returned back to me. Every time I went to Styland to see about my car because by phone we could never get a straight answer... I never saw my car. It took then a month and a half to return my car to me. Rental fees were growing. Talk to anybody by phone no one knew anything. This was the most frustrating situation. I got the run around when someone told me that my car was almost done and getting an alignment at another venue.... I went to see my car and it wasn't there plus the owner of the place never saw my car. So I go back to Styland and they say the car's electrical system was being checked.... well, when I got my car back not only were my lights that were hit not working, but when I brought my car into Toyota... the car never had an alignment! Styland at one point said they would pay the extra cost of rental car.... then they said they wouldn't then they said they would. Some kind of deal between enterprise and Styland happened and then Enterprise said there wasn't a deal for Styland to pay them. I said I was not paying for all of the extra costs. We put a hold on our credit card for the charges. It took another two months for Styland and Enterprise to get on the same page on whatever deal they made on the extra costs. It was not our expense. I would love to give no stars. This place is the Mecca of scheming, crooked no-talent stereotypical auto bodyshop owners and workers I've ever came in contact with. A few years back my 8 months pregnant wife's truck was hit while parked while she was in a store. When she got back to her truck she saw it was hit and was greeted by two guys apparently chasers who work for this shop. They started by saying how horrible they felt that this happened to her and that they would help her and have it towed to a body shop. My wife being pregnant and upset agreed and off her truck went. When I was called I was told someone would be gracious enough to come to my home for me to sign papers. When the chaser from earlier that day showed up I had him write everything they were going to do to the car and how long it should take(he said 10 day). I signed he signed and he left. The next day I picked up a rental car near my home and drove to the body shop to see the damage to the car. When I got there I met the owners wife who was very nice and let me see the car. She said she called my insurance company and they would come to look at the damage. Great! So I thought. Two days later my ins. Co. called and said they cut a check for $18k and the body shop will start work. Long story short (but not that short), 3 weeks later after numerous phone calls after the ten day ETA, I stopped by the shop unannounced to find my car in the same condition, but with a little patch of primer on the hood(that wasn't damaged in the accident). When I stepped into the office and saw the owner who was surprised that I popped up, I asked why the car wasn't done. He responded with the good old adage that they were waiting on parts. I kindly bit my tongue and said fine, there wasn't anything I could do. They got me right where they wanted me. They spent the check and started some of the work. Where was I going to go. So twice a week every week for four months I asked when the car would be ready and they would tell me 'next week'. Now finally four months to the day the car was hit I was told it was ready and could pick it up. Mind you my rental through my ins. Co. was for 30 days. So for 3 months after screaming at the owner, he provided with one of 'his' rentals free of charge which turned out to be a 10 year old smelly disgusting Toyota Corolla with a spare on the front. Once again like an idiot I bit my tongue and took the car because I just wanted this nightmare to end. I had my wife use my car because I would never let her drive such a disgrace of a car. I ended up using the 'low life wagon' to travel to and from work. Anyway I see the truck and at first it looked fine, but then looking closer at the body work it was as if children did the work. I went into the office and told the owner that I hope he had a great Christmas with my check and he was the first person to had ever f***ed me over and I left. The very next day I took the truck to East Coast body shop in Brooklyn and with $3k and 7 days later they made my truck look like it did before the accident.
